Excellent FTP app. It works great. As a wildlife photographer, it's so convenient to be able to send a batch of photos and receive batches of photos from my FTP server. One funny thing I've noticed in other reviews is that people comment about the "dated" interface. Uh, hello? It's FTP! That's basically how FTP is expected to look. If you ever ran an FTP before in a browser, it looks pretty basic and text-ish. I actually find this app to work great and the interface is beautiful for an FTP.

A nice light-weight app for doing exactly what I need it to do. It connects to my Synology SFTP server and mirrors the files to the SD Card. I was able to set up a one-way mirror in the free version. If sync is still limited to the pro version, that might mean two-way synchronizations. If you have file names with foreign characters be sure to change the character set in the advanced settings to UTF-8 (or whatever character set you need). Otherwise this app will silently change your filenames to fit within the specified character set. It does not warn you first. The scheduled synchronization feature will suffice. I would prefer an option to trigger synchronization when it gets plugged in for charging.

My favorite FTP client app. Using it exclusively for 5+ years. Can reliably download and upload folders recursively. I love it. Recently I had some issues after the latest update. The developer was super helpful and we could solve the issue very quickly. Thank you. I also recommend the "AndFTP Pro Version" with SYNC feature and ad-free. Two thumbs up.

the app worked wonderfully for what I wanted to use it for, transferring files to a Homebrew 3ds, but after I started using it I began to get weird pop-ups on my phone that said they were clearing up space on my phone or optimizing battery without any input from myself, and all of them contained an ad for Google Fi. The app is wonderful, but as these pop-ups went away when I uninstalled the program and rebooted my phone, I'm afraid I can't really trust it.

It works, it's intuitive, and it supports batch transfers, but that's about all I can say for it. It sends a LOT of unnecessary commands to the server (CWD before every transfer I can maybe excuse, but LIST after every file while doing a batch upload? Really?) and it's appallingly slow. During large batch uploads, there are big gaps between files as if it's iterating O(n) over every file it's already sent. This can get up to multiple seconds with 100 files or so.

The app is very good for single file transfers, but is awful for any bulk transfers, as any small error in your connection will stop the entire queue, which is inevitable on a device that can't have a wired connection. There is no resume/auto resume feature for uploads and if the connection is broken you have to back all the way out and reconnect manually. FTPS support is also very poor and has trouble connecting to my server which I haven't had a problem with any other ftp client.

I would love to rate it 5 star. However, I cannot do so because this app just is not reliable for multi-file transfers. Let's see. At relatively random moments, such as when android screen blinks, screen orientation changes or some such, the bulk transfer becomes STUCK. At this point there is no button to make it unstuck, re-continue etc. all I get is a stuck andftp window. There is no working CANCEL or RECONNECT button. And I have to kill andftp and start again. Today, for example, andftp became stuck simply because I laid the phone on my wireless charger. I fully gave up on using FTP protocol and use SCP, which made it better because it eliminated FTP command channel timeouts. However, even with SCP, the app becomes stuck and unusable for completely spurious reasons like screen changes.

Great app. I've bought full version and it's really "Must have". It can sync predefined folder in one touch (it even has widget with "sync" button!). It has "resume download" option (works both ways). Your 5th star: When very large folder is synced trough weak 3G, connection breaks (that's ok) I get "sync report": not all files were uploaded. Then I SHOULD press "Sync" AGAIN to resume uploading. Why not to add "Auto retry" checkbox in settings with unlimited retries?

Generally works as expected. BUT the "screen rotation kills connection" bug is brutal. It's bad enough I'm tempted to use something else even though I bought the AndFTP Pro option. Also, any loss of connection causes the app to get stuck in a useless state and requires reopening it, thus losing your place in the app, selections, etc. Suggestions: * better "resume" functionality. I can't tell if AndFTP is trying to resume a partial file (good) or overwrite a complete file (bad). * "download/upload + delete on success", a la WinSCP would be great. Especially since AndFTP clears selections after transferring Ughhhh, WHILE I was typing this review AndFTP crapped out for an unknown reason and will require a restart. Boo!

This app is the best tool I have found to quickly upload individual files to a server. I just love fact that I can just share any file to AndFTP and it automatically uploads it -- this one small feature saves me a lot of time. The only mark against it is that it does not handle TLS session resumption, leaving a small security hole.

The best ftp client on android tbh. The only problem is theres no way to move files around on the server from the client. When i do need to do that (which is pretty rare) i have to login with another client which is pretty annoying considering i wont switch from this app because of the absolutely amazing and robust sync feature. Please look into that dev

Used to be great but recently I had transferred files and they ended up as zero bytes in the destination device. I placed a polite and informative request including os versions etc for help on their Lyesoft discussion forum. Instead of helping, or allowing others to try, they just deleted the forum entry!

Barely works whatsoever. I put everything in, including a username and password. I went to go create a folder and neither the password or username worked. It also REQUIRED a username and password to even create a folder, figured this out after I deleted the user and pass.

It has an easy to use user interface, BUT: It doesn't retry upon a failed transfer. It just aborts the whole multi-file transfer. Useless given the realities of crappy Internet access. Maybe okay for transferring one file from one local server. But that's it.

This was exactly what I was looking for. You need the pro version to use ssh keys but definitely Worth it. I can Share files from my phone to my HTPC with only two clicks! I wish that the app would upload in the background. Well, it does, the UI just doesn't convey it very well at all. :/

Superb app! Since my update to DSM 7 on a Synology NAS I now get a timeout error at the end of an upload, yet tried with FileZilla and never receive this error. Has something recently changed with the FTP protocol and the way it is being implemented?

I primarily used this app to back my phone up every night. The syncing scheduler appears to no longer work, and manually syncing seems to stop as soon as the screen cuts off or the app loses focus. Not usable for anything other than single file transfers

Pau. K. Sep 13, 2019

Occasionally uploads incorrectly — it seems to sometimes "resume" inappropriately and fail to overwrite earlier parts. This may happen more when uploading multiple files. I'll try turning off Resume support. Also, it constantly forgets your choice of sort order.

I have been using this app for a long time, but once i selected some log files and try to delete them, all files in my ftp server were deleted (not only the log files i had selected). Im glad i had a backup of the files on my pc. Since that happend i never used that app ever again.

Cho. B. Feb 11, 2021

This is the only FTP program that works for me, and it works perfectly. Thanks very much. Update: It also works on Chromebook. The CB has a simulated SD card and the only two folders the app can recognize are Downloads and Documents inside sdcard.

Gra. P. Oct 15, 2021

The interface is awful, but it does what is intended. Don't see why it has such low reviews when it still works perfectly fine. I've tried apps that don't work at all on my phone(s) and they somehow get consistently high evaluations. People make no sense to me.

Phonomenal. Connects to my routers ftp server flawlessly. i dont know why this app doesnt have better reviews. yes the ui may look a tad intimidating but for the functionality and simplicity this app brings, its worth it. Anyone who is having problems with dropping the connection, its probably your connection to your ftp server. I can access my ftp server both locally(LAN) and externally. so yeah... If i can work this high as a kite, anyone sober can do this easily

Chr. H. Aug 20, 2021

Decent, although the interface is a bit dated ... Nevertheless, don't judge a book by its cover. If you need to transfer files between your android device and an FTP server, this client provides you with a reliable solution. Would love it even more if it was open source software...

Wya. B. Aug 2, 2020

Constantly got "IOException stream is closed" for unclear reasons leading to halted downloads randomly. This makes this app basically useless. I never get errors on desktop SFTP applications or another SFTP client for Android I started using. Additionally, the interface is clunky and poorly designed. Why can't I easily hide the download window? Why is there no easy way to measure progress of total download rather than one file at a time? If these are features - why couldn't I find them?
