The TI-8X series of calculators work great as standalone calculators, showing 8 lines of history, using standard mathematical notation. Each model was designed with more specific purposes in mind:

The TI-82 is designed for algebra and trigonometry. Graph and compare functions, perform variable substitution, and solve single variable equations.

The TI-83 is designed for statistics and trigonometry. Graph and compare functions, and perform data plotting and analysis.

The TI-85 is great for engineering and computer science. Graph and compare functions, perform bit manipulation and convert between numeric bases.

The TI-86 is great for engineering and calculus. Graph and compare functions, perform bit manipulation and convert between numeric bases. Solve differential equations, plot vector fields.

All models allow you to write programs in TI-BASIC and perform basic scientific calculator operations.

Let us change the haptic duration as it is way too strong on my phone. Also, sliding finger across the buttons shouldn't trigger all of them. Removing more empty space to make the calculator display larger would be welcome on small screen devices. Finally, a faster emulation option would be great so the calculator isn't limited in cpu speed.

First you have to find the TI rom you're looking for. Not a huge deal. You have to place the file on the root of any of your SD cards (internal or external). Then you go into settings and select your rom. The only problem is that the "cannot find rom" message that covers half the screen doesn't go away. Even after you're booted into and using the calculator.

I've used this app for years now with a variety of devices and it always works great. Perfect for when you want to do your math homework but don't want to have to pull out your calculator. Just a word of advice to students though most teachers and professors still will not let you use your phone on a test for obvious reasons so make sure you have access to a real calculator.

The link to the emulation software sight explains how to download the time from my TI calculators into my PC via a cable, but I could not find any instructions on how to get that ROM software into my Nexus 7 tablet nor find anything even related to the emulator. It appears that, with out further information, this app is a total waste of my time and memory on my tablet.

Not much to say about this one - it does what it says it'll do very quickly and efficiently. I would've liked it more if it came with ROMs, but I guess that's part of the fun of an emulator. Terrific application. Channel 2012 Score: 4.5/5

A nice simple emulator, scans the device and finds roms automatically. It'd be nice if there were options to speed up emulation (x2 or x3 speed) so that things run a bit snappier and all key inputs are registered if typing quickly. Also a quick option in the menu to clear data and reset the calculator to the default state would be nice.

Would not find the ROM when on the sd card of my S5. Tried several times. Finally copied file to root directory of the phone and it now works flawlessly...using the file on the sd card. Yup, in settings it shows the ROM on both the sd card and the phone and the sd card ROM is selected. Besides the wonkiness of the ROM it's really nice having a TI-86 on my phone and I suggest going into settings of the app and getting rid of the black border. A bit easier to use if you've got sausage fingers like me. Another fyi, a used TI-86 costs under $50 now. Just bought one tonight and there's lots of them there for that price.

I use this program probably a minimum of twice a week for well over a year now. It is limited based on the processor and the ram on your phone or device. I have had issues with more complex calculations, meaning if you are doing calculus 3, or differently questions. You might consider a dedicated calculator. Overall. Highly recommend it.

This is a great app, but my one problem with it is that when you put your finger down and slide it, every button you slide over gets pressed. It should only press one button for one touch of the finger on the screen. I don't think it's my rom, but I'll re-rate 5 stars if it is.

All you bunch of fools, such as the one that accuse developers of paying people to comments, is an idiot who blame others for his own idiocity... This app needs ".rom" files, that you can easily find just by google "ti calculator rom". I despise ungrateful people like all of you.

Probably the best graphing solution available for Android. Would be perfect of it weren't for the slow/laggy input - like if you type to fast it won't register all the keypresses, this might only be my TI-83 ROM though. Great app otherwise, totally recommend it!

minor issues on my tf700t will rate 5 stars if dev adds tablet support or maybe even a tablet version. It needs an auto rotate, cant use with keyboard dock attached to my tf700t. If you could just make it auto rotate that would do it for me it works great. Only other thing i would like to see is support for more calculators.

Since it emulates a ti calc that means it takes just as long plotting whatever you ask it to graph - which is probably unavoidable. Considering those calculators' CPUs run at about 8 mhz I was hoping my phones dual core 1.4 ghz processor would make it instantaneous, but I can't fault the developers for for making it too similar to the original product. Would like to be able to load downloaded programs for the rom emulated so I won't have to type them in manually. Seriously best graphing calc available

I was a Physics major in college in 1994. Loved my old TI-85. Took great care of it, it still works and I still have it. But this app gives me the same functionality on a Samsung Galaxy S4. Wonderful. I use this app to solve Calculus problems for my Space Opera writing.

As an engineer I have grown very attached to my graphing calculator. I always seems to find myself in a situation where I need my calculator but do not have access to it. I have searched for years to find a good alternative before stumbling across TI emulators. After finding the right ROM ("TI-ROMPack.rar") I got this app working. I was tempted to purchase the AlmostTI application for $4.99 but found that it too required the Roms provided by texas instrument and was essentially the same application as this.

Any chance of this app supporting OS updates? As of this review TI-83+ OS has gone through 7 updates and is now quite different from what it was before. Also, it would be great if users could just specify the directory of the roms instead of it searching through all the directories. Great work though :) Thanks!

No problems after getting the rom in. Thank you TI for allowing this app to stick around even if the conditions are annoying. Own two Ti-83s but tired of feeding them batteries. Not having any issues with the '2nd' 'Quit' lockup another reported so all good here.

What would be nice is to mention in app description that it needs .rom files. At first I downloaded and unzipped the files on the linked site, but since they were another type such as .82p, the application would not recognize then. If you don't know that (and you don't pay attention in detail to the small text line indicating it's searching for such files), the 1st contact can be frustrating...

Only issue is that there's no overflow button so you can't change any settings. Otherwise, it works really well for an app that hasn't been updated since 2013. Wish dev would come back.

I love that it's free other than needing a ROM. My old TI-83+ served me well for more than five years of heavy use in various classes in high school and college and turned out to even be useful for unexpected classes. While I no longer need its more advanced functions, I've found that it still has one of the nicest interfaces for actual math (for instance, the way it shows the equation as you entered it, the advanced settings like significant digits, and etc.) With this, I not only have my favorite calculator back, but I have it in a more compact and portable form on my smartphone and tablet. I'll admit though, I do kind of wish we could customize the look and feel a little more. I wish I could make the skin itself darker, but more importantly the screen is a bright white background. I threw away my calculator after getting the ROM a few years ago but I seem to recall it had an amber background (and I think a dark blue foreground?) Honestly rather than perfect emulation of looks I wish we could customize the colors a little bit. I'd really rather an inverted display at least, but full customization would really be nice. I'm just nitpicking though and it's a wonderful app!

The very fact that apps like this exist only seeks to completely re-affirm that I made the right decision in buying an Android phone. The only thing that could possibly make this app any more awesome would be TI-84+ SE support.

Eri. M. Jul 20, 2015

The app would glitch and exit out, but I just deleted it and reinstalled and now the graphing calculator works flawlessly. I'm not sure if it'll glitch again or not, it worked at first the first time with the same rom, then crashed. Either way this app is awesome

I have old 83 and newer 84 plus dont know how to get 84 plus to work here so i had to dig out my old 83. Works flawlessly and now allows me to do complex calculations on the go without carrying small plastic bricks around.

My TI-86 from college had some failing lines on the display, then I lost it. I don't use my engineering degree often at my engineering job, but when I do, the old TI is useful. Now I always have it with me. Note: I read a review about problems if you didn't have a ROM file ready on first boot. So, before I even opened it, I emailed myself a file and put it in a folder called "Roms" in my phone's internal storage. When I opened the program, it went right to the TI-86.

Fop. Aug 22, 2013

Emulated TI83+ ran about 4/5ths speed against a real one on a Samsung Galaxy note 2. Only complaints: ROM search should be manual rather than automatic, and haptic feedback should either be weaker or customizable.

August 13, 2012 Version: 9 worked well on I.C.S. Now samsung upgrade firmware to Jelly Bean 4.1.x and changed a little bit the way the external SD is placed in the system directory tree. So now, Andie Graph doesn't work because he can't find the rom in external SD card where I've placed them. I've already stopped the app and i've cleaned the data but, doesn't find rom anyway. It would be much more useful if developer put also an option to allow us to select the rom's directory instead to rely on the android media scan feature. Five stars anyway... hope this issue can be fixed soon or a solution other than move rom's to internal memory, come out. Edit: Nov 2014, still version 9. Update to 1 star because no solution to the problem.

This application works great on my rooted Nook Simple Touch and my Samsung Galaxy Player 5. My only complaint is that there is no emulation for TI-84, but it's not a huge downside as the TI-83 has most of the features.

My ti85 was working perfectly but today for some reason it's totally frozen. This app needs an ability to reset the rom. I can choose another rom like ti86 which works fine but when I come back to my preferred ti85 it's still frozen.
