ABOUT ANDREW HAUG
- Director /Programmer!Andrew Haug is one of the most recognised and respected media figures in the Australian heavy music scene.

For the past 20 years he has worked in radio, starting in 1993 with a local demo segment on Melbourne’s 3RRRFM Metal Show. Before long, Haug had become the lead host of the show, handling all facets of the program including interviews with several hundred local and international artists right up until leaving the station for a new opportunity.

In 2001 he became the host of Triple J’s national weekly metal program, “Full Metal Racket”. Over his decade-long run he conducted a staggering 612 interviews with the likes of James Hetfield (Metallica), Ozzy Osbourne, Maynard James Keenan (Tool), Ronnie James Dio (R.I.P), Rob Halford (Judas Priest), and even interviewed Steve Harris of Iron Maiden onboard their very own plane, Edforce One. Known for his incredible drive, dedication and enthusiasm to both music and broadcasting, Haug once convinced JJJ management to do a live seven-hour straight metal radio marathon.

Haug has also extended his love of metal into TV broadcasting. In 1995 he hosted a local TV music show on Channel 31, “Metal Vision”. This lasted over two years, and included local and international interviews with the likes of Fear Factory and Deicide, as well as general music discussion. In 2001 he hosted the long standing national TV music show “Rage”, handpicking five hours of his favourite rock and metal video clips, and in 2006 hosted a four-hour special on MTV’s “Headbanger’s Ball” dedicated to the acts on that year’s Gigantour festival.

Haug has also dabbled in writing, submitting music columns to Kerrang! Australia, Roadrunner Australia’s Outsider Magazine, plus weekly metal music columns for various street press magazines.

He is currently the sole label manager at the Australian branch of esteemed German based record label Century Media (Arch Enemy, Suicide Silence, Lacuna Coil, Architects) since 1998.

When not dominating the airwaves, Haug manages and plays drums for heavy hitting trio Contrive, the band he formed with his twin brother Paul in 1999. They have released two EPs and two albums to date, and toured with the likes of Machine Head, Opeth, Stone Sour, Cavalera Conspiracy, Testament, Sepultura, Soilwork, Mayhem, Skinlab, Parkway Drive and more.

In June 2012 Haug revealed his plan to create the first ever 24/7 dedicated rock and metal online radio station in Australia, AndrewHaug.com.

The station was officially launched on November 20, 2012.

Great app, love the selection of music provided. Wish there was an option to force close the app when you exit the app completely. Occasionally the sound stops when the screen is locked

It's super basic but mostly works. However, it's super annoying that you can't close it from notifications

Really handy app. Please put in a casting feature so it can be streamed to a external speaker like Sonos, Google mini etc

Since the latest upgrade, app stops playing when screen times out (S7). Not sure why this is, have checked settings and can't find solution. Never used to do this. Awesome app and love rockin out to it but would be good if it didn't stop playing automatically.

Hi Guys, I seem to be having a re-occuring problem with this app on my Samsung Galxy Note 4 usuing Android OS 6.0.1. Everytime I have this app running with music playing. When I lock my phone screen, the music stops playing. I have uninstalled this app several times and it keeps doing it. Not sure if it is a bug with the app or it could simply require a patch update. This doesn't happen when I don't lock my phone screen. I hope there is a solution to this as I absolutely love this radio station.

The best thing that could have happened for the hard rock and metal scene in Australia. Nowhere else will you get such dedication and knowledge about everything metal. I'm so glad I stumbled across Haugy's radio station, I don't even know how it happened.

Support for Chromecast is the only missing thing. Great to have an Aussie all metal station.

Hit play and bang your head. If only it had a widget, it'd be a platinum record.
