I have over 1000 pdfs on an SD card and 400 in internal storage. Decided to rebuild index from scratch. Progress bar get stuck at 10% of pdfs, and most things that used to show up in a recent search now do not. Tried again to rebuild index, this time stuck at 11%. Looked for help - "user community" and website come up as Google Plus shutdown notices! Where is the developer?
Free version is useless when there are many results as you are prevented from seeing them unless you upgrade. No ability to specify where to search or to filter the results make it useless to find a common string - looking throughg hundereds of results to find the single result that's needed. And no dev support, judging by the lack of response by the developer. Too bad...
works well, could you put an option for displaying titles instead of file name for html searched results. I have offline webpages(html) saved with file names inform of serial numbers or code. Additionally, The indexed data stored in the app folder(system file) consumes a lot of phone memory. Could this data be set to be stored on the external SD card.
Excellent but whenever I share something a text promoting the application is attached. I have a premium version so it's like having ads. Not good. Aside from that the application is perfect. I can't understand why isn't everyone using it. it works a million times better than the search option from Samsung
This is a powerful search app, like searchmonkey but much more simple, and it works great on android. You can search any text inside files, including epub. It would be great to see an update with dark mode, material design etc. Pro version is worth buying. Please update to android 10 /11. It still works on android 10 tablet, but it doesn't work on my android 11 phone. Please update the app.
Returns instant results. Routinely misses files on memory card, such as MP3s. No email client search. Should include a dark mode option. Also, appends signature to text of any message that a file sent from the search results creates, even in pro version. Unresponsive development team.
Super app, so I bought the full version. I would love a new feature implemented, which is the reason why I don't give it 5 stars. Being able to use another search engine than Google as an option, let's say DuckDuck for exemple, would be really awesome. Cheers
In the last several hours I have downloaded a dozen-and-a-half apps looking for a decent grep. Seemed like a simple request. This is the first one that actually works for my task at hand. The ONLY one that has worked correctly. I usually don't even bother with reviews but... dude... several hours and the ONLY one that has worked correctly, so I gotta give credit where credit is due. For real. THANK YOU!
no support at all - if you're paying for an app, you expect it to work. If it doesn't, you expect to be able to contact the developer to find out why. In my case, the app is not indexing new contacts. Gone through all the settings and it seems correct. Since there's no support option, I guess I'm just out of luck.
I want to buy it but it is not usable for me at the moment. You only store each file name on a single line and every long file name in a series looks the same as each other. It doesn't help seeing 30 lines of the exact same name because you don't display the last few characters of the file name. If you add that and a dark mode(Grey's etc..) then you have a sale.
Folks, if your budget allows for _just one_ app purchase THIS IS THE ONE TO BUY. How important is it for you to be able to search the CONTENTS of your files? ALL files, even your contacts? I have thousands of files on my phone. How the hell can I remember which of 13 .DOCX letters is the one I'm looking for? How about the one with "8919" -- the street number of the one Smith whose letter I'm trying to retrieve. BLAZING FAST, the list spills out before you with full color icons INSTANTLY. 🚀 🚀
I have very happily used this fine app on my android tablet... until now! Android 11 has finished it's usefulness. It refuses to recognise the SD card, and in spite of sending the requested info 3 times, there has been no response. If you keep data you need to search on you SD card, forget this app now. It's too bad. It WAS such a useful app.
I turned on the setting for notification bar and was annoyed to get an icon in the status bar that does nothing except take up valuable space for no reason. Then I tried the widget and it doesn't accept text - it opens the app same as the app icon. Really?
It's a must - have App on your Mobile. It finds every thing for you - music, documents, apps, contacts, email ids, etc and helps you delete files selectively. Fantastic!! Am very happy with it.
This indexer works well. If you need to find a particular document in lots of other documents, this works well with no need for any work from the user. I thought the limited syntax would make finding the right document clumsy. I was wrong.
horrible. DocSearch by Li Jane is much better. Astrosearch only lists all the ebooks or docs that contain the word. then you have to open each one individually in your reader to see the sentence and if that is the mention you were looking for. DocSearch SHOWS YOU THE TEXT MENTION OF EACH RESULT RIGHT IN THE APP without opening any other app! DocSearch lets you scan hundreds of results quickly. get DocSearch by Li Jane and not this one
Great! It searches in pdf. However, I like 1 more functionality for 5-star: it would be nice if I had the option to search in PDF WITHIN a directory, so that not ALL PDF in my whole system is searched. Like Adobe or Foxit PDF have the option to search within a specific directory, it would be nice to have this option too.
This app always finds what I am searching for, it is fast, never freezes/dies, compatible with all my devices, and it is easy-to-use. I highly recommend it.
This is the best search fir file names and contents fot android. Some feedback I read today fir other apps saying they are better than androsearch just have no clue what they are talking about (eg only searching for file names). Free Androsearch was serving me great. i was just about to purchase full version. But recently I changed my phone to GS20+5G with SD card. For some reason it does not index anything on SD card but it is supposed to. Why is that? Is there any fix for that?
Simply amazing ! Indexing and retrieving information can be particularly useful in android environment , I just type keywords and I find the pdf files which include them as well as other document types in 0,02 seconds
AndroSearch is really a good application to search for the files in your mobile phone by its contents. Request apk owner to release Pro version benefits to all for free. Pro version is 0.81$ for how many months, for an year or so? This is not given.
Could not find a way to search a single file type. For example, pdf only. it appeared to try and index the entire phone.
The free version I DLd is super snappy and does EXACTLY what is advertised: it searches your phone, SD card and Google for a file. Solid app, I'll most likely purchase their Pro upgrade.
hello developer sir/madam. App has been very usefull. but now it is not working properly in android 11. not able to index pdf files. I have a purchased version of this app. please UPDATE the app and make it support for android 11. thankyou..
Before I get an Android's native app to search text contents, I'll be using this app as my reliable text search tool. It may just be one of the greatest out there!
The app will not allow me to view more than 25 pdf files without paying. I'd expect a minimum seven days trial period to use all features before payment is required. In addition, the user forum / developer contact link is to Google+, which was discontinued in 2018.
Best search app so far for me. And it's the only one I have found that can find a contact by searching the notes field which is crucial for me. Kudos to the developers!
This is a must have app for finding files and content in Android. If you have ever tried to use apps to save content and then find it later, you know what a useless time sink that is. Andro Search instantly finds those files. It indexes the files once then automatically updates the index for new files. The only improvement I would like is to also search emails, but even without this, this is the app I have needed for years as an engineer.
