The news is always SUPER OUTDATED. Just 4 hrs ago, for example, an article was written and an alert pushed called "Android Messages web interface is starting to roll out, but the app needs an update." Its source was an article that was FIVE MONTHS old, and the article itself said the app was updated within days of the original post. This sort of thing happens in Drippler frequently. If you can't afford editors to review news articles, stick to the app reviews and tip articles! You do it really well, and it is by far this app's best and most unique feature. I have found a number of GREAT new games, productivity apps, etc. The productivity apps especially have been life changing for me as a contractor! Keep up the good work! Maybe trim some of the excess. It's your reviews and tips that make you stand out from the competition.
This is an informational app, providing the latest in new apps or updates to old favorites. I generally like it. The downside is poor editing when the writer is using English and messes it up without knowing the difference. Apparently, no one reviews the articles before they are went out. Even a simple grammar editor might help. Nothing more frustrating than trying to figure out what something is supposed to mean. Like trying to read a Chineses tee shirt.
So it's been saying "connection error" for months now. Weird, but whatever. I had some bookmarked. I finally decided I'd Uninstall and re install, to see if that fixed the connection error. Not only did it not fix it, but all my bookmarks disappeared. Anybody have a good alternative app? Specifically one that shows you new and useful apps for your particular phone?
Update on my previous review... Just received a response from Support. Was informed that the app "Is not available in your country". I have used this app on my last two tablets and last two smartphone and I have not moved out of the country. Although the app is awesome, it does not work on my new tablet. Have contacted support on numerous occasions and have received no response. I can not give it a 5 when it doesn't work.
Use to love this app but then it just stopped working one day. Saying connection error. I would try to connect different ways, delete and re-download but nothing worked. Tried sending an email to support and finally went to the website and noticed it didn't exist anymore. So I deleted the app. RIP Drippler! You were good while you lasted.
This used to work many moons ago but now all I get is connection error for the past year (ish) or so. I used to love this but when contacting support they said not available in my country. What difference does this make?? A mobile phone in the US will more or less have the same features as the rest of the world. Please fix otherwise I will uninstall this for good. Thanks.
I have liked and used this app for many years. Unfortunately it has become plagued with a connection error failure. It doesn't work at all on my new Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. It appears to be something they just aren't able to completely resolve.
The app use to be really good, but now it's awful. Takes for ever to load and now everytime I open the app all I get is a connection error for the last week or so. I emailed the developer about the issues but never heard anything back. Don't waste your time with this app untill they fix the problems.
When it was working, it was great. Now it says there's a connection error despite the fact all of my networks are working just fine - mobile and WiFi. I just paid to upgrade to ad-free too. Awesome. I'll fix my reading if you guys can fix your app.
Bought brand new samsung galaxy s10+ have had this app for years pay the monthly subscription for no ads ......it just says we're removing all ads on the bottom but keep getting ads has been like this over a week contacted their support only option was Uninstall and reinstall no change reported this to them no other response...........so still not fixed and instead of fixing received a notice they were canceling my subscription!!! This is good service???
Edit/update in response to devs tips to try. so i reinstalled the app as had uninstalled it after my previous review about the app not ever being fixed and still giving the connection error on trying to open. after installation tried to open, again the error so then i went and cleared cache, cleared data and then forced stop, and i tried to open the between each of the above and then after doing all three together yet still same error. I'm on galaxy S8+ if that makes a difference?
Used to be awesome. Does not work at all on Android 9. Looked for a support email, but none to be found. Last update 2016, I guess you guys just didn't care to keep up with the OS. Please don't tell me it's not available in my country. Used it successfully for passed 4 years. Disappointed
Has not worked in months now. All I get is connection error. I asked support what was going on, received an email back that there was a server issue on there end and were looking into it. Several emails to support since go unanswered. I guess they closed up.
It was mediocre at best. Many times it would stop updating and then update drips in spurts. Now it's completely offline with no announcement to say as such. Articles we're ok, some actually informative. But many were poorly written and had a narrow aggregate pool. It was ok while it lasted. Uninstalled since it has outlived it's usefulness.
Majority of article titles don't have adequate descriptions of content (most just say something like, "5 best apps of ..." Also app reviews/compare contrasts fail to denote particulars of importance to many Android users or stay consistent in descriptions. Otherwise, just not very insightful or helpful for how long they've been around; an average to beginner user might be better off downloading apps from the Play Store at random and trying them out. Try out the competition and see...
I used to enjoy reading many of their articles and saved some links. Now the app doesn't work, and the Drippler website cannot be reached. I was able to pull up a saved article by entering the link into the Wayback Machine (internet archive) and saved the content to Pocket. Drippler owns the content, they can contact the Internet Archive and block access. So if anyone bookmarked a link, grab a copy of the archived material and - ideally - save it to your HD.
Whoa. Seems like I'm getting the dreaded "connection error" after 2 days. I'm running Oreo. 8.0 on an LG V30+ and I'm in the US. This is a cool app and I would be at a loss as it's one of the few apps that I have used/check on a daily basis for about the past 5 years or so. I hope that the issue(s) is/are fixed shortly!!!
loved this app, but it's been such a long time since I've actually managed to get in it, since the connection error has been there for the longest time ever. I've changed phones, wifi, sims, nothing helps fix it.
This APP has gotten me out of trouble more times then I can count and always has been entertaining while it did. The articles have been coming in on my Samsung Galaxy S4 for as long as I have owned it as the Drippler APP was the very first APP I installed when it was suggested by the salesperson when I bought it some 6 years ago. I can say without a doubt that when I get a new phone It is my hope that it will work on it and the Drippler gets me by with another 6 years with another Samsung Phone!
can't give a review. only have a star because you have to so it will leave the post. it is telling me it has a connection error with and without Wi-Fi . it used to be good and working. fix this and ill rate it properly. been reading a lot of the reviews and the responses are not available in your country, I've used this before on other devices so please don't use that line on me.
It used to be a great app. Now it just shows "connection error" most of the times. When it remembers its job, it send me some notifications of articles, but most of the times it's just not doing anything. I have used it for years, but not its time to uninstall.
Was a fantastic app until recently when all I started getting was a "Connection Error". Reached out to Drippler and was informed that it's being caused by problems on their end that they're aware of and working on. Will definitely revisit and rate five stars once bugs have been ironed out and app is working again.
The app doesn't work at my OnePlus 6 with Android Pie (9.0) installed on it. At the beginning screen, the app says: "connection error" and it doesn't come much further than that. It's otherwise a great app, but I just whished that this little bug would be gone!
Used this app for years but it appears to have died. Now just receive "connection error" message. Nothing wrong with my connection, just drippler. Have been unable to solve so now will delete an look for alternatives. It was a good app, useful and relevant, shame to see it fail.
What's up with the connection error? Was a great app. And now nothing? No body answers questions or emails either. I used to depend on this app. Updated 29/10/2020 well they don't exist anymore..... Not in the app store and all policy and procedures and term are all empty and an email came back stating email address no longer exist 29/10/2020 *920pm Est
app hasn't worked for several months. developers keep saying "were not available in your country HOWEVER if you DO NOT sign in using a Facebook or Google account the app works just fine....so this tells me the issue goes much deeper than simply not being available in certain countries.
It's great to have an app out there that researches, reviews consolidates and shares their experience w tons of apps from multiple makers of different types of apps. Saves me loads of what could potentially b totally wasted time and directs me to more worthwhile apps each day! Some of which i was originally oblivious to their existence until drippler brought them to light. I so appreciate what i do!!
Amazing application! I loved every article related to my phone and the news and updates about technology, tips and tricks to improve the performance of my device. I received an email 2 days ago, November 17-2020, saying that the developers won't continue updating the app and they are ending the project. It's a shame. Great app! Thank you for your time and work.
