Android System WebView Canary

Best version ever, since i started using this particular web view my online games and online stuffs be going smooth, infact my phone in general be soo fast 😊😊 thanks to the ideas to this, the system default web view is actually weak but this is great.🙌🙌💪, But one issues is that some apps and sites won't open or function well, else i manually switch to the old one, i wish there be a way where I won't have to use the old one again for ever.

Haven't had any problems since It wouldn't download at app and kept glitching out. The only bug I have seen is if I try to update the webview canary and chrome canary it resets it and I can only update one of them at a time but that's more just a minor inconvenience and probably has to do with the play store rather then the applications themselves

Downloading doesn't do nothing. You need to manually enable this to actually switch over it. So, if you gave this a bad review without enabling it first, then I'm guessing you haven't witness greatness at its peak. But if you've read this first, give this a thumbs up to help somebody out by making things easier for them.

Best app for web view this version is more stable than original one which is included by default. Battery , Perfomance and usage wise.

Great, but play store updates of canary chrome and webview don't work :{

love the app but how come whenever I download webview most downloads start instantaneously this one and any other webview downloads from the Play store will not download over mobile data edit app also will not update even over Wi-Fi if simultaneous downloads are queued for download is this really still an issue in 2022?

I just ignore Google apps at this point. Its utterly ridiculous that apps need to be updated so damn much.

i could not enable to switch to different android system web view. but on past month ago decay i can.

Canary seems to be more stable overall than the actual stable release. It's speed, performance and battery usage is superb over stable in every and all ways.

Please check it. I've been having problems downloading it and by the way, check everything collected by the app

New update doesn't even download. Need to fix this asap so the app will be up to date thanks

I checked this out to see if it included a fix for an issue introduced in 91. That issue is not fixed here. Seemingly spontaneous switching of font to very small size. Affects all apps that use webview, multiple devices, multiple Android versions, stock ROM custom, ROM. Does not occur when system webview is reverted two original that came with device.

I prefer this app rather than stressing myself out with the original web view one that comes pre-installed on the phone.

Great to see and try experimental features.

Webview. Could use more privacy in it since it's based off Chrome, but it works well enough, and Android needs it to function. Plus I believe it's one of the few apps Google has on the Play Store that didn't get forked and closed up afterwards. Update: Would be nice if uninstalling beta, dev, and canary versions also deleted the old TriChrome library files. It currently does not.

Until we hear a comment from Google about the notorious freezing of Webview on Android 10 devices, even just an acknowledgement that the issue exists and it's being looked into, this gets 1 star from me. Frequent freezing on my OnePlus (about once every 5 minutes, I get 2 on average during a 10 minute video) makes this completely unusable. Hopefully this 1 star review will help to raise awareness of the issue and drives Google to comment on it. Until it is fixed I am forced to use Firefox only.

Crashes entire phone basically. Every time there's an update it starts all over again. It fizzles out then update crazy useless phone and the circle of annoyance continues forever. Finally just uninstalled for good. No more

I get the part about this being a system wide service to display web content and it's an alpha version (i think), but other than that I have no clue what this actually does or if it actually has any benefits to it at all vs the regular or beta webview versions. Also app won't update. Tried to uninstall and reinstall but it won't install. Really wish I could just use Bromite's webview but I just had to go and buy a Verizon snapdragon phone so oh well

Very good web view actually the best in the world. It made my device faster than the default. Many people insult this by saying this bad but actually it is super good and people cannot replace it by the default one and just simply download it and give bad reviews but this is the best thing to make your device faster. I am only 13 years old but still changing my software to my limit and have a lot of interest in this and if you are not downloading this then you are making a huge loss.

This webview stops you from being able to scroll in boat browser 8.7.8, galaxy note 10+ 5G android 10 I am having to use Android System Webview Beta all the other webviews are not functioning in boat browser please fix

Great application. What's with daily updates? Never seen an app update so frequently.

This highly experimental, but awesomely crafted developer application that has alot of great tweaks for the advanced web developer or simply to make Webview kit in your mobile device a really top noth experience. On my LG K51 and my LG Aristo 5 (LG K31) this package gets hung or simply pends repeatedly the update. The only way to get update is usually to uninstall the old version and then quickly re-install the app to get the much needed updates. Fix this a five stars is the next choice!
