andromeda ★ AOSP rootless 8.x

The support pages/chats have been extremely helpful. I have continued to play with the app after reading many guides online. There is more work than people may originally think required for this app, but support has been very responsive to help someone like me that is not extremely tech inclined. It does indeed work, but be prepared to put in work to get the results you desire!

Paid for an app thinking it will make my note 9 look different than others, with amazing themes and everything. No matter what I try or how many times I try, after installing the themes, it shows "system ui stopped working" and goes black screen. I had to reset my device more than 2 times to fix it. Utterly disappointed. Hoping to get my refund back!

Force Closes/Crashes on app start. I purchased the app and it refuses to load. The longest it stayed open was for about half of a second, before crashing. The brief toast notification proved useless, as it's impossible to read in the less than a tenth of the second it was shown. I've tried clearing the data, uninstalling/re-installing to no avail. Besides, it's useless if you have root anyway. I was hoping for a performance boost, but there's no point wasting cash on it, if it won't work.

app immediately crashes when opened. exception message is 'outdated version please download current version from the play store. I've tried this multiple times. using various APK managers to reset app cache Mets data, etc. i can appreciate the team's efforts to try to keep this going. but this is more trouble than it's worth. I'm running os 8.0 on a Huawei mate 10 EMUI 8

Bought the app because it was promising considering the potential of theming non-rootes phones. However, the app was quite buggy and Google eventually axed it. I suppose I can't ding the devs for that, but the app shouldn't have been paid if the devs wasn't sure if this would last long. I suppose you could simply not update your phone, but I do not think it is wise to stick with older version of Android just for the sake of themes.

I have little exclamation marks when I'm in the overlays tab for any theme. When I try applying it, it either says Substratum cannot talk to Andromeda backend or it just crashes and says Your system reloaded substratum resources. Didn't work at all. Edit: I did a factory reset and it started working. Thank you.

Guess who's spending the day setting their phone up? This guy. I paid for an app to annoy me for 4 hours, then brick my phone. I want a damn refund, this is garbage. And FYI, I've been an Android geek for years. I've used custom ROMs and spent a lot of time in recovery mode. I could have used adb commands to recover my System UI, but it would have taken me even more time. If your software isn't fully developed, don't release it. I saw nothing that indicated I'm paying to be a beta tester.

In theory it's great. Not in theory the app is broken since the last update for a lot of users and apparently no developer cares :/ (Me and many other people reported in the telegram chanel but as I said the developers seem to don't even read it) Thank you for the answer. I reported in the telegram group serval times and got no answer apart from "uninstall and reinstall" which didn't fix it. 🙁

This app used to work perfectly fine but since the latest update it has become unusable. My setup is the same. When I run start_andromeda batch file from my laptop the script runs but substratum doesn't open up on its own like it earlier used to. When I manually open the substratum app and try to apply a theme it says substratum could not connect to Andromeda backend though when clicked on Andromeda app it shows green box with status showing 'Connected'.

I have run the batch file and now it shows connection status as connected but the substratum app does not work. It always shows that verification failed try to force close and open the app again. I have tried reinstalling both apps rebooted and tried but still no success. I am using Samsung galaxy s8

Batch file doesn't work cause it can't find the correct path on my device. The Readme file is useless. Java client doesn't work (which is in alpha so I can forgive). To get any support they want you to download a 3rd party messaging app. This is already a 2nd app I downloaded just to use the 1st app. On top of that they ask you to pay sight unseen for the slim hope that this app will work on your device. The xda forum thread is full of unsolved errors and the most recent post is just "well it seems to be broken for now"

hi developer, i wanted to try it so i did the purchase of this app and followed every step and was successful in changing the theme( well most of it ) but my device started acting weird so i uninstalled the apps and did the refund oblivious of the fact that i will need the app to remove the theme..so i was forced to pay again to reinstall the app..now i cant get a refund..i was wondering if you will be kind enough to do a refund for the purchase i had to make. waiting for your response Thankyou.

I was really disappointed on using this app. Even though it managed to theme my phone with various themes available but at last my phone got into a bootloop. Its sad for me I have not rooted my phone and there was no way that I could access my phone data. At the cost of my data which where really important to me I factory reset my phone which was really disappointing . I really doubt the stability of the substratum themes available in play store. I would not recommend this app to anybody.

I feel bad for the devs. This is a great way to bypass rooting your phone. Unfortunately people are stupid and can't figure out how to use the app. I use Substratum and Andromeda all the time, and I have never broken my phone beyond repair. Even if you brick your phone you can just run adb commands to remove the theme. So if you don't know what you are doing, don't try to use this app.

Originally, this was not working, Andromeda still won't stay open on my phone, however, that's not relevant to the themes working on a Samsung device. You still NEED this application to use Substratum and its themes with a Galaxy device I recommend buying 2 or 3 different themes that are the kind you want. I wanted pitch black so I got 2 dark themes. Select the applications you want to be dark/pitch black, install them, reboot your phone, see what works and what doesn't and uninstall the ones that dont work from there

I unistalled it due to some issues, and still I had to reinstall it back and remove all the overlays manually one by one, as my mobile gets stuck during each uninstall. I need my money back, and there is no refund option and I installed it for second time.

I've never had a problem with the app, I see a lot of other people that does but to me must be user error, I have a note 9 and not sure what happened but I can reboot my phone and keep linked with substratum, before I thought you had to run command again via PC

The Last version does not work properly. When I click on the icon my phone froze. I have issue with connection. I have to delete cache several times in order to connect. Tried to reinstall Andromeda and substratum but problem still exist.I did a hard reset the phone, but it's still the same problem. To install the themes I have to reset phone several times and clear cache in Andromeda app. OnePlus 3T, stock Oxygen OS. Please fix it. The previous version worked without problem.

the windows app that you find in tutorial its not commjng with all the files are needed and i had to search older version with all the files, and this one is not working every time and is freezing at connection and you have to wait 2-3 minutes until it start to work

Apparently I had LuckyPatcher installed and it had been causing interference with the Andromeda app. Once I uninstalled Lucky Patcher and reinstalled Andromeda, the App started working. thank you for your cooperation. Now I just need to figure out the Adb device drivers part, somehow.

It's inconvenient that you always have to have your computer and your USB cable if you want to change themes! Can't it be easy as sungstratum on Nougat? Even it works perfectly, it wastes a lot of time and due to the March security patch of Google, it forces me to do a reboot and after that I have to reconnect my device and run the client again!

Latest version just broke it substratum is gone I am getting license issues ever since I updated my app. Now my Instagram, WhatsApp and Maps won't work anymore just because of this bad bug, it is making me hate the app all together.

Awesome app! ppl like deep six just don't know what they are doing! In spite of their supposed "experience" they are even clueless about what "bricked" device actually means! Andromeda does exactly what it's designed to do & for people who need help - The Telegram Group is perfect for them. Awesome app + Awesome support.

not working as supposed to.. needs constant connection to a PC to keep it synced with substratum, and even when it is connected the end result is not as it should be.. better root the phone than pay for this

Legit wasted my money, I installed this to make my interface look different, but all just in vain. Installed a theme, didn't work, booted, rebooted, nothing worked. Infact it had to be rebuilt again after the reboot. Very disappointed.

Galaxy s9+ user here. After latest update, make sure to reinstall Andromeda and reboot phone. Everything works perfectly well. Thanks! Edit: can confirm that lucky patcher interferes with Andromeda.
