Angie’s List

Definitely streamlined my search. However, I didn't realize that when I thought I was just signing up, all my info would be immediately given out. Within minutes of (what I thought was) just searching for movers, my phone blew up with calls and texts from companies. Would have preferred a little more control over that or at least a warning.

i wish i could give zero stars. once you sign up for this app and put in your phone # etc, there's no way of removing your info from circulation. The app and website provide no way out. Ive tried all means of contact with no response. i still recieve phone calls and emails from them with no way of stopping it. The "manage account" doesnt work to stop the calls and offers no way to remove info. The site suggests you can go to the bottom of the emails and click "unsubscribe" but its not there.

The new version is extremly hard to use. It does not let you to look directly for orofessionals unless you go through a project that falls in the predefined category, and it only gives a handful of choices. If your particual need does not fit neatly with the options then giod luck. You can not even look through a list that shows near by professionals sonyou can call. Extremly frustrating

This is an updated review. The app is a little easier to navigate but still difficult to write reviews on because it defaults to capital letters after each word and space. Also, I couldn't find a way to close the old abandoned and completed projects to stop text and email messages.

This app has been totally useless. every time I try to create a project to see matched service provider....I get "something went wrong...try again". multiple times and multiple days. cant save....so starting over every time I want to try. Hopefully not indicative of the service itself when I dig out my laptop to try a full browser.

The service is good however, the app and website requires a password stronger than my bank or credit card services do. That is ridiculous! I can't use a normal password and so can't recall it half the time I want to use it. Too much hassle, canceling my paid membership, can't for the life of me I understand why I need a 10 letter password and special characters too.

Selected house cleaning. One time. Texts started to come in ..but the prices And conditions to qualify for discounts were only if you sign up for repeat svces. And either demanded a walkthrough before quoting or kept changing the story about prices and amount of people who would clean. Apparently, trust is still lacking and I see why. No transparency in pricing or understanding of what is requested. Vicious cycle. I just wanted fair prices and a good cleaning of specific areas.

Not so much with the app, but mostly disappointed with the business itself. I've signed a contract for them to advertise my business and get us leads, but not much has come through. So having to spend $400.00 a month for basically nothing is a great tip off. Thanks Angie's list. Shows who we can trust and who not to go through ever again.

"Something Went Wrong, Try Again". That's what I kept getting when I was just trying to create an account. The password length and characters was correct. The email was correct. But kept getting the same error msg over and over again. Gave up, uninstalled. Guess the previous person who posted the same issue wasn't mistaken.

I am a contractor and the sales people for angies list lied to me to make a sale I specifically asked if I could cancel my contract with Angies List anytime without penalties, and the girl said yes you can cancel anytime. When I tried to cancel 1 day later, they said that I still had to pay $400 a month for the entire year, it was in small print! They argued with me and are trying to put it on my credit. I was lied to on a recorded line. They are a scam! Do not do business with Angies List!

Very hard to use, if the screen goes black/locks it erases everything you've entered which is really irritating if you've left a detailed review of your experience(s). This needs to be addressed for me to give anymore stars.

Exceptional experience! Used phone book and two other apps to try to get my work done for two weeks. First service provider on Angie's list, told me I needed a handyman instead of an electrician or appliance installer. Duh! 6 hours later, I'm completely satisfied! Thank you Angie's List for having quality service providers who are responsive, knowledgeable and courteous!

I have tried using Angie's list 3 times now and of the dozens of requests I've sent to pros, only 1 has ever responded to me and it was useless. For weeks, not a single other person has responded. I get it's not Angie's list direct problem, but for how the service is marketed, very disappointing to put all this effort in to searching pros with no response when I could probably just Google maps someone and get a response faster...

Doesn't allow you to just browse. once you fill out the form and get to the page where it shows you a list of contractors if you don't request a quote the contractor's still call and attempt to contact you. all I wanted to do was look at reviews of different companies and different prices that they charge for services.

Im really impressed with the way this app/service has improved over the years. When I initially started using it, it felt almost like a search engine. Now it feels like an actual service. I have folks from the company calling me if projects arent finished and helping me secure someone to knock it out. Thrilled with this app now.

This isn't as useful as the website, especially if you are a subscriber. This only allows you to "search for pros" with a specific project in mind, rather than pulling up a list of pros by project type. Basically, this forces you to send out your contact info and have the "pros" call you rather than the other way around. Which is almost never what I want.

needs alot of work , love the idea but, I would like to be able to add reviews to people that are not already on Angie's List via the App. alsolike to have the ability to add diffrent types of services that companys provide that are not already listed. App needs work , but if updated with improvements would be Awsome!!!!

Annoying and creepy. Down loaded app and started browsing contractors. Suddenly my phone rings and it is one of those contractors. I did not request a qoute or give permission for a phone call. I realize these companies make thier money by selling our info, but at lest give us the illusion of control. On the plus side, it was easy to search for contractors.

It shows the same 3 pros!!!! I can't see all the local plumbers. Will be using thumbtack, this is ridiculous. The pros they show have not replied back, but can't see other plumbers!! Absolutely ridiculous. I dont want to see the highest bidder for Angie's list. They keep showing me a company thats not local and charges $95 travel fee.

Many different uses! It's been super helpful for finding and reviewing movers, painters, cleaners and a locksmith, so far. I'm very happy! I'm sure I'll be using it quite a lot!

Used to be a great app for finding pros. The new version, however, is worthless. It seeks to control what you can see, and doesn't left you browse through the possibilities.

1. Even though I provided my address, with correct zip code, I got matched to pros over 2400 miles away. 2. When I try to provide more information about the job, I keep getting the error, "Something went wrong. Please try again." I know Angie's List is a good service, but the app is pretty lousy.

I have used the Angie's List app to find the plumber and roofer I use. The messaging feature makes it easy to schedule appointments and get information. The reviews are often detailed.

Angie's list is a horrible business. contractors who really need work pays them for leads and advertising on the app. Good contractors work on real referals and word of mouth. The desperate need referral / lead services like Angie's list. so you are not really getting the "good" contractors here you are just getting the contractor willing to pay for a lead they can't get otherwise.

This is the worst way to waste your money and time. They attach your company to a nonsense contract that you can't cancel. So you have to pay them a lot of money for not get service. The manager just hangout the calls you make. She just send you an e mail if you call the coordinator and even if you just don't get results. If you're looking for advertise you company and make it grows this is not the place. Is pretty much give your money away not having any way to stop that stupid contract....

This app is horrible won't even allow me to sign in keep getting a message saying clear text not allowed. Also says must agree to the terms but it doesn't show you what their terms are. Better apps out there like home advisor!

I was with this service for one year and it cost me $4300. Some months I didn't even get a lead. I was mislead into signing up when they called me and said I was one of the only types of services in the area. They LIED! I actually just received a call from them saying that they had made an error in my account. Wow! It's funny that this was realized after I had spent all that money and my contract was up with them. I have Home Advisor and I get leafs sent from this service to there. Don't pay

Angie's List has completely abandoned what made them a trustworthy source. They took away the filters that allowed you to search and sort companies based upon the number of reviews and grades. They're also accepting payment to put their real clients at the top of the list. A complete sellout. Uninstalled.
