Nice app, comprehensive and well planned out. But it's a shame so little is available for free. Or even worse, that the cost of admission is so high. I think the cost should be akin to the cost of a book that serves the same function. Maybe £1 per animal class and £5-7 for the full app content. £17 is just too high!
A very detailed and comprehensive app covering Costa Rica fauna. The best natural history app I've seen for any country or destination. A bit pricey for the full download, but considering the weight, size, and cost of the print editions this replaces, it's a bargain.
Don't get me wrong. I wish to support your effort but do think you need to be more generous with the information in order to validate your app. Namely, the enormous majority of animals are "locked " until you pay; the lists are VERY far from complete and the information is very limited. Just a quick-card-like detail! So please, make your app worth and entice more to buy (disclose more info, man!). Sure you can.
This app does not work. I paid for the all-species download and was unable to download the required data even after trying several times. I was connected to fast wifi and had plenty of space in my phone.
EDIT: Even after I payed for the full package the app wouldn't let me see all the content but after I contacted the app developer I got his assistance and helped me fix it. Good app, I'll have to use it a little longer but so far so good! I thought this app was pretty good at first then I saw everything was locked which honestly wasn't really a problem since I'm used to pay for educative apps like this one. My real problem was what actually made me rate it with only 1 star.
It is comprehensive, scientific yet accessible, BUT. Don't download unless you are willing to pay for in-app purchases. To actually be able to see all animal species costs $20, and $13 for the most common species. If you are willing to pay, this app is fantastic.
By far, this is the best app on Costa Rican wildlife. It's a dream come true. With the complete package you will have nearly 7,000 photos of more than 4,700 species at your fingertips. As a wildlife guide in Costa Rica, I give this app my highest recommendation.
This is a great app to help identify animals in Costa Rica and the real fotos are much better than drawings that you find in books. This best part is it is always with you on your phone.
Cant get a good sense of the app without having to pay a small fortune, maybe it's good, maybe it's not but I'm not willing to spend $23 to find out.. also, developers snarky replies on others reviews was just not cool, keep it professional.
In order to use this app and see all the pictures, you must pay. Also, there isn't much information on the animals.
How much...??!!! Pretty useless app if almost all the animals are locked behind obscenely priced paywalls... Deleted after 2 minutes...

They seem to have fixed the picture problem which is a big plus. If there was more info on the animals like if they're venomous or not would make this app great. I live in costa rica for 9 months a year. not having to carry a book or pamphlet is nice. I'll leave my previous review below "this would be a great app if you could see the picture of the animal you clicked on. Not worth the cost until they fix a few things."
