Animated Flashcards: Sight Words
Kids Learning Apps provides 100 animated sight word flashcards, with unique animations and colors for each card.
Sight words is a common term in reading that has a variety of meanings. When it is applied to early reading instruction, it typically refers to the set of about 100 words that continues to appear on almost every page of text. “the, and, at, was, does, their, me, be” are some examples.
In addition to their being very frequent, many of these words cannot be “sounded out.” Preschoolers and Kindergartners are expected to learn them by sight (strickly memorization and no sounding out).
Sight words account for almost 75% of the words used. This specifically starts when children are in Preschool.

Just starting using this app with my kids. Good so far. I wish the volume was louder. I have the volume setting in the app all the way up and the volume all the way up on my phone. The voice is still kind of soft and quiet. I will re-rate and give more stars is this is fixed. Also, I will rate this app again when I've used it more. I also wish that there was an option or place on the app where I could personalize a list for my kids to learn from what their teachers hare giving them.
Overall a good app for my autistic son so he can learn to read. Unfortunately, I can't back out of the quiz feature without restarting the entire app. The button in the upper left corner doesn't work when I push it. Everything else works fine.
Love, love, love. I usually use homemade flash cards with my daughter. This app will make it fun and engaging for her. I wish I had discovered this app months ago. My only suggestion would be to have the functionality to add my own words and cards, other than that I can't fault it.
neat app would like to have the ability to choose sight words for my child to study . have like groups of 10 or 20 sight words to pick at a time and study.
Very appealing and wonderful for kids, I downloaded it for my niece and she loves it. It has been very helpful to her for learning words. Highly recommended.
You cannot customize it much at all and my kid gets bombarded with ads every 2 seconds. Not worth paying for to remove ads.
I know ads are gonna happen but every 7 words is a bit much and the app has calming music and the ads come in interrupting and loud disrupting the brain undoing what was just learned.
It's great! Good word selection. I like that I can choose words from a list. I wish it had option to add custom words.
Great tool to use with a different approach to learning site words. My son loves it and helps him hear the sounds and spell of each word he learns.
Volume isnt loud enough for a child to hear. Its on the highest setting. Fit it and I'll rate it higher.
Great app. Not liking the constant interruptions by the advertisement. But I know someone's gotta get paid
The font used on the flashcards makes recognizing letters unrecognizable and a bit confusing for little learners.
Lame, the app has ads every five seconds.

At school my kids get tested on this words. Not spelling them out. Usually they will ask me how to spell a word. I want to help my kids out how to spell the words on their own. They are bright kids.

This is so janky. I don't even care about the ads, the game just doesn't work. Buttons don't do anything, it's non-responsive or kicks into random settings. Really sloppy. I just wanted some basic flash cards. Edit: Developer has responded to my review and promised to look into the problem. I don't know if they'll fix it or not but I like that they're active about trying to solve it. This indicates the problem likely doesn't exist for most people.
