AnkiApp Flashcards

Learning Chinese characters? Kanji? Medicine? Another subject with lots to memorize? With that much to learn, you need the right flashcard app, to get the most from your study time.
That's why Anki App uses an improved form of Spaced Repetition (SRS), built with Artificial Intelligence (AI), to maximize the amount of learning you get done in each study session. When you go to study, the AI chooses which flashcards you need to work on, based on a detailed analysis of your progress. It's like a coach, for your brain.

Make your own flashcards, styled how you like. Anki App lets you use colors, bulleted lists, and more. Or search through millions of flashcards that are ready for you to download. Your choice.

You get all this power, wrapped in a simple, polished app.

SIMPLE
• Easy to add cards directly from the mobile app
• Format your cards using colored text, bulleted lists, underlines, and more, all without knowing CSS
• Flip your decks to study back-to-front, with a couple taps
• Syncs automatically with desktop, web app, and your other phones and tablets
• Create decks on the go
• Make cards using photos from your camera
• Share any deck with a friend by putting in their email

POWERFUL
• Fully-featured—-NOT a "companion" app that requires a computer
• Detailed stats on each of your decks, and individual cards too
• For advanced formatting, supports HTML and CSS
• Text-to-speech (TTS) that reads parts of your cards in English or other languages
• Study offline, and your new cards and progress sync when you're back online

USER-FRIENDLY
• Dashboard that shows your overall progress
• Study at any time; doesn't force you to study cards on a rigid schedule
• Study your recent decks from the Dashboard in just 2 taps
• "Night Mode" that's easy on your eyeballs when studying in the dark
• Settings sync across all your devices

really helpful tool that is getting me through my mocks tbh. Once i figured out the potential of the tags feature the app got so good. for example, you could put a deck about electolysis in the 'ionic bonding' folder, as well as the 'bonding' folder AND the 'chemistry' folder. this means you can select tags(now called 'folders') to study either broad or niche, specific topics. If I want to study multiple related decks at once this feature is incredjbly helpful. amazing!!

This is not a free app. Beware. If you try to sync with the web version you will suddenly be required to subscribe for$25/year. The developers are not up-front about this, and instead make you pay after you have created multiple cards that you don't want to lose.

Super easy to use. Transfer cards to different decks. Make your own decks or download pre-made ones. East to create the flashcards on the computer or the phone app.

Watch out this is not the free Anki App you might want to download! They charge you for using the App on your mobile and desktop. They don't even offer an export function.

Thought I would comment after seeing people with sync issues. I just logged in after several years and sink two decks I made 4 years ago everything and seems to be working fine.

Useful app, however making flashcards is really a pain and there is no copy/paste feature. You can't set any default settings for the cards you make, so you have to change the settings (such as font size) on every single card. It's cool that you can make your own card layouts via editing the layout code, except that it doesn't work at all. On the plus side, you can upload your cards to the cloud and sync across devices, so that's cool. Also, I don't think there's any ads.

I love the idea of the app. Its structure is very easy to use, all at a glance, perfect for organising your flash cards. The problem is that the app is full of bugs. For example, when I wrote some tags the other day, they were with capital letter. Today, I can't write tags with capital letters anymore. I'd love to see the bugs fixed so I can use the app without any frustrations.

An author (Ian Gibbs) recommended this app a a good way to review words when language learning. At first I thought he was talking about the older desktop based programme and app which remains fairly user unfriendly. No, this is something altogether different and unrelated to that. For a start, it requires no desktop programme, it is browser based, has a simple interface but allows upload of csv files if you have them. I managed to find a spreadsheet of words that I modified, cleansed and uploaded. It saved a huge amount of time (as I did not have to create cards one by one). The interface allows you to see all your cards and it colour codes them with a grade. This allows you to target the difficult ones and maybe add a picture or a sound prompt. This is makes it hugely flexible and of great benefit. I highly recommend this app for language learners.

Probably the Swiss knife of flashcards: it has almost everything a person would need flashcards for. I think the only minor nitpick about it is that the theme I would use gets switched back to the default white and blue when I change it to the dark mode scheme. Not sure if it's my end that is having this issue or not but it can get tedious if one has rather sensitive vision.

Downloaded the app to study & paid for it. Spent two month at sea with no internet making 300+ cards. App started to become buggy crashing every time I made a new card. When home I tried to sync my work in order to save it so I can delete & reinstall the app. Now the app crashes every time I try to sync & the data is not uploaded. Attempted to contact the Developers for troubleshooting help & haven't heard from them in a month.... I like the functionality but don't want to lose all of my work.

Doesn't sync even if you pay for the unlimited version. Problems seem limited to android version as I am not experiencing them (as often) on Win10 and ios versions. All versions need to be manually synced on a regular basis which is surprising given the low volume of data shared across platforms. However, Android app has said it is "offline" for weeks now... Not only do usage statistics not sync, you cannot download anki decks that are not already on the phone.

It doesn't work, it keeps on telling me I need to log out my other accounts even though I'm logged out of everything....

Love that I can create flashcards from a laptop then read them off my phone. Copy and paste function is wonky, so you have to reformat everything. You cannot add tags while creating new flashcards which means you have to save the card then go back into it to add tags - very tedious. So you spend more time creating flashcards instead of studying them. Also when pasting photos from PowerPoint or e-textbook, you are limited to formatting it - removing the option to practice identifying diagrams.

Overall i feel the androidanki is much better. The good: 1) many saved decks available. 2) cards can be customize. 3) shows numerous statistics on performance of decks. 4) updates released often. || The bad: 1) need to create an account. 2) very clunky system to add cards. 3) ux design is bad.

This is a great flashcard app. I used it to study for recertification boards. So easy to open and study whenever time presents itself. Cards are very customizable and easy to create with text and images.

I absolutely LOVE this app. The interface is very ergonomic and user friendly and just looks very pleasing to the eyes. The features are absolutely wonderful for quick card making and also reviewing. My all time favorite feature is the search button which is very sensitive to even partial key words. This app has every thing the traditional Anki has but BETTER, more user friendly and just overall much more efficient. Thank you so much!

Simple, practical and easy to use. This works for me more than the original Anki. Most of the people that gave 2 stars below are having syncing issues or unable to use on other devices with the same account. I for one haven't had any experience like that.

You get most of the expected things but even if I get 100% it says something less than it, I also get bugs and the cards sometimes start with the answer up. (Week Later) It has been a week later and it has deleted all my data for this week, I don't know why but I was supposed to do 10 a day for homework and now I have a detention!

Overall this app is pretty good. However, one issue i have is that on my computer i can create cards with audio file (mp3), but this functionality and types of cards does not seem possible on my phone. Is it possible to add this feature on future updates?

Dar. O. Jul 17, 2020

spent quite a big amount of time creating cards for my psychology course and tagging them, just to find that tags are not clickable or searchable. Filtering the cards by subject or topic or keyword? Not possible. What a wasted effort.. And create synonims/merge tags and this become 5 stars immediatly Edit. I will turn from 2 stars to 3 because I actually found a small drop down menu that allows to filter by tag. But functionality almost useless, no chance to merge typos, no incard navigation

I'm using the app for 6 days and I'm very satisfied with the app. I just want to suggest a few things: 1)when I view a card in the deck and exited the card it always goes back (the scroll) to top so I need to scroll and find the next card again. It would be great if it stays where I scrolled or if I could scroll sideways while viewing a card to see the other cards. 2)it would be great if you could copy cards to other decks so it is easy to organize and have a "generalized" and "specific" decks.

I have been using this app daily for over a year whilst learning Korean. It is a brilliant way to improve your vocabulary. You can make your own flashcards or download ready-made sets online. My knowledge of vocabulary is always stronger than other students in my classes and I think that is solely thanks to this app. It's not just for language learning, it would be useful for any type of study that requires you to remember a lot. I wish I had discovered it while I was at university!

Lin. C. Apr 7, 2020

I am taking an online course that has recommended flashcards for key terms, 450 in total. It was recommended to write out the cards by hand to help remember. I don't have time for that and just reading the sheets want committing to my memory. I found this app and put my terms in and now I am actually learning them! I love the algorithm repeating ones you have had troubles with. This is way way better than any physical flashcards ever could be. It is definitely helping me with my course!

The ankiapp on the desktop is great however not all of my cards in the same deck are synced to the phone app despite trying multiple times. This defeats the purpose of the app as I spent hours making flashcards on the desktop app and am only able to view about 10% of them on the phone!

I've been a professor of Spanish for the last thirty years and this is the most exciting app I've ever since for learning and memorising grammar and vocabulary. It can be used by individual students o by teachers. It's absolutely superb and it covers everything. Dr William Cook

Simple way to memorise things if you can find the right set of flashcards. I like it. Edit: Ankiapp is named after a popular cross-platform app called Anki. The official Anki app is called Ankidroid and it is open source. Ankidroid is less simple but has much higher quality card decks and much more control over when you see cards again. I have switched to Ankidroid. Also, Ankiapp kept asking me for feedback long after I left my review.
