Pretty simple app in terms of functionality, but that's a good thing depending how you look at it. Connection isn't rock solid though and does drop off from time to time, or takes a while to connect which is annoying. The Yamaha app in comparison is leagues ahead and is rock solid. Recommendations for this would be to add the option to select eq on/off, choose eq profile from the app, and for the amps config menus to be displayed in app so you can adjust things without an attached display.
So annoying not being able to use it after switching back and forth between apps. Makes it virtually useless. Reported to Anthem via support years ago. Nothing done. Expected more from an amp this price range. Edit: you can tap next to the 'connecting' banner and you can use the app after returning to it without restarting it. Seems just a UI glitch +2 Stars Unfortunately mrx 520 sometimes needs to be fully unplugged to restore it's LAN connection
If I could give no stars, I would. I own a MRX-710 and Anthem no longer supports it with this app. I used the previous version all the time. I got a new phone and can't get the previous app. That app isn't even available to download any more. So now I can no longer control my receiver with my phone. I am very disappointed in Anthem. When i purchase a new receiver in the future, I will definitely be looking at other manufacturers that actually support the products that they produce.
Frequent disconnects and sllooowww response ruin the app. When you start the app it will take 5-20 seconds to find your AVR. If you leave the app and come back a minute later, another 5-20 seconds. No support for Google Home control either! They could not have designed the app to be more annoying. Quick tip: if you cannot reconnect, unplug AVR from AC for 30 seconds. Plug back in and switch AVR on. An absolute POS from a company claiming to make the best AVRs! Seriously this is just rubbish compared to the competition. Anthem's customer care factor appears to be ZERO. My next AVR will not be an Anthem.
This app is garbage. Connects at times, and at others it doesn't. It has to reestablish a connection EVERY time you unlock your phone, or even just switch to another app. It hasn't connected to my AVM60 for 2 days straight.
Doesn't work with my 510 and their old app that did has disappeared from the play store. Terrible support! UPDATE : Just email their tech support. They'll email you a link for the apk to reinstall the app. I don't know why you can't find it in the app store, but they will give it to you if you ask. Changing my review from one star to five!
For such a strong product line, you'd think Anthem would ensure their apps would serve their customers well, and make their equipment shine, especially in our digital day and age. But this app, and the connectivity issues, are some of the weakest I've seen after having used several other manufacturer's apps and AV equipment. Time to fix this and serve your dedicated customers Anthem!!!!
Worked perfectly when I first installed it. 2 hours later, it refused to connect. Reseated the Ethernet cables, restarted the app, the phone, and the AVM60; nothing worked. Very disappointed.
I can't stand this stupid app. It works once in a while..... That's it. How hard can it be to just freaking allow me to put in the IP address?? Maybe 5% of the time this app functions, otherwise it just can't find the receiver. I expect a whole lot more from a Canadian high-end product like Anthem.
Agree with all the comments. How hard is it for the developer to fix the issues as it always looses it connection and has to be rebooted. If you want to be a product that is above the rest, get the app fixed as this is the future, using apps I mean
Useless app, doesn't matter how many times I uninstall or reboot amp or tablet it never has worked. The older version on all my other devices work but new app on new device has never worked.
No longer connects after update. Updated receiver FW to v1.4.095, still no luck. Please fix as I don't have line of sight and rely on this tablet to control my HT.
works well for my avm 60 had in usefor months only flaked out once. Update a year later. Post firmware update my AVM60 can no longer be controlled by this is app. This app is now totally worthless.
One star for pushing people into a web page with new 2021 products. Terrible idea. So someone upgrades, was using an app, now they have to use a web page which most hate. Update your app for new models.
i recently bought a new phone and installed the app. It does not work with my 510. The older version of the app worked fine on my previous phone. Big let down.
MRX 310 no longer works and old version of app haa been removed from the Play store. VERY bad customer service. Will not purchase Anthem product in the future!
app was working fine on my 1120 up until today, now it doesn't even see my receiver. Will not connect! Please fix.
Flaky connectivity, but i think that more to do with how bad the network capabilities of their devices are
pretty sad that they can't make a proper app for such good equipment. takes far too long to connect.
The old app worked with my 310. This one fails to connect to the receiver.
App doesn't work with mrx 310, original app disappeared from app store. Very disappointing...
This new app does not work on MRX 710 please bring the old app back so I can put it on my new phone.
Never was able to connect to the device (was on the same wifi network)
STR integrated not included. Why? On iOS is working for a time...
App does not work. Tries to connect, but doesn't.
Do not at all recognise Anthem mrx 710 on WI Fi , when the system is still connected.
Worked great at first. Now never connects since update
Won't connect anymore. MRX 1120, latest firmware.
Only connects to my reciever 40%of the time.
Two years late for the current line up and we get this disaster of an app. Yes, it works. You CAN control your receiver with it but could they have made it any less desirable to use? App start-up takes more than 5 seconds to read the receiver's current state. If you switch away from the app for a few minutes it rereads the current state all over again. This means if you have to adjust the volume you're waiting for ages. I've never seen an app written so badly in my life. Anthem people. Put the entire state of the receiver in a single message
