This app gave me back my sanity! Today, within just seconds my phone had slowed down and I could barely use anything. This had not happened in years. I use my phone for work so I panicked. Turned it off and on several times, no change. I found this app, downloaded it and had it scanned my phone, where it found one threat. It got rid of it and wouldn't you know it, my phone was back to its old fast speed! Heck yes I am definitely recommending this app!
Best free AV available. Does exactly what it says on the tin. I've never had any issues with AVG at all. I used to subscribe and get the extras, which I would recommend for anyone who can afford it, even though it is probably one of the cheapest full AV suites available. There is NO lag when using it, unlike some applications that offer "full security".
I have been using AVG on and off for about 20 years and for the most part I have been quite happy with the results. The most recent experience was I was signed up but I was having issues with my phone loading up, went to verizon to get taken care of and the man blamed AVG and removed it from my phone and I tried it but it was still the same. Put the program back and in conclusion the phone ( Moto) is piece of 💩, so now I have AVG again and would recommend it over the idiot at the Verizon store
This app advertised a lot and delivered basically nothing unless I paid them more. Once you buy the initial "premium" subscription, when you start to activate everything they start telling you that you have to buy the Avg Cleaner service separately and you have to pay more on top of that to get the VPN by the time you purchase all of the things they had promised in the ad you were spending more than you would have spent if you'd bought it all at full price. There's no discount it's an illusion.
My Wi-Fi was performing slowly intermittently, and my phone would get hot (and stay that way). I was continually restarting my phone in the middle of playing game apps. The cleaner/booster/battery-saving app, that I was previously using, was not helping at all with solving these issues. I am soooo thankful that I installed both the AVG Antivirus app and the AVG Cleaner. I feel like I have been given a brand new phone!! My Android runs faster and more smoothly, and doesn't overheat.
Constant pressure to upgrade free to premium. Irritating but understood. No idea why I would upgrade if free doesn't work & can't find out why. I won't choose to pay for something that doesn't work. I get cryptic alerts that something bad is wrong. No way to find out what let alone what needs to be done UNLESS you go premium! Daily scans were automatic...no longer. Best I can tell, you can get this with an upgrade! I've never cared for this kind of greed filed pressure. I'll be changing!
I had started to think of AVG as a little bloaty. But on my new Chromebook it seems to be helping, rather than hindering the overall experience. And it's not like Chromebooks are known for their high specifications! This costs £11:99 for the first year, and so far i feel like that's totally worth it. Even the free version still gets good reviews. But getting rid of the adverts for about 50p a week seems fair. Just watch out for the auto re-new and the price nearly doubling at the end of year 1.
I keep getting an alerts that the webshield is switched off. I then have to manually switch it off (yes OFF even though the alert says it's off) and back on again to clear the error message. I followed all the instructions from the developer to stop my phone killing the app but it keeps happening. It doesn't give me confidence that the app works. It's a shame as I used to rate AVG really highly.
My subscription is ending and so I thought I'd shop around. Well after reading a number of reviews I decided to stay with AVG. I went to the more well-known apps Kaspersky and Norton. Scary the issues some customers were experiencing. Granted, in most cases its operator error. But, the fact that these customers had to try and fix what the app should have protected them from in the first place; scary. After 1 yr with AVG I am renewing my subscription. With confidence!
Terrible. Downloaded and bought the premium membership. Shortly afterwards my phone wouldn't turn on anymore. I went ahead and bought a new phone since I didn't know what else to do. I then looked up videos and was able to HARD reset the phone. Everything was deleted. Now I'm trying to retrieve the information, but am having a hard time doing so. This all started after having download this app. I had originally placed a 5 star, but dropped it due to the experience I had. This all happened today!
Great App! It actually does what it says it does and with more additional functions than other apps. And the paid version has some extra functions that look like they're definitely worth paying for. I only gave it 4 stars out of 5 because it's a SERIOUS drain on my battery and thats never been a problem with any other app of this nature, which means it's not the result of something that's absolutely necessary. Change that and you'll definitely start getting better reviews....
I've been using AVG free on my PC for well over a decade. I previously had Kaspersky on my phone until I found out they support the Russian government and would willing hand over all information. Back to AVG, it was my first choice when I canceled the other. It has many useful functions, VPN, system scan, scam protection and more with easy to use and effective functionality. I opted for the Pro because it was affordable and has necessary features but it's a shame they hide the discount.
I've had AVG in the past. Reinstalled recently. Tons of features within one app. My main issue with the app is that I don't want / need everything. Example, I have unlimited data. There isn't an option to remove that part of the app, 'data diet.'. There are other parts of the app I wish I could turn off.
Great free app. Cleans junk, checks wifi secure and the 'save RAM' button really makes the battery last longer. If you hit the save ram button before bed it will use hardly any battery through the night. My battery is lasting an additional 25%, at least, between charges using the save ram button. I won't be looking for an alternative. Very happy. Very easy to use.
Using the free version. Love it so far other than the ad's, get a ton of them! I guess that's the price we pay for Using "free" version. Sometimes the speed test will not work and I have to disco from wifi and reconnect then it works. This is the only issue so far.
Good features overall, but doesn't seem to scan apps as they are installed, or at least didn't make it clear that it did. I tried to install a new app through it, scanning it with AVG, and it just whined about the app being unsigned and refused to install it. So, I installed it through the Android Installer, and there was no indication that AVG noticed. Lookout does show that it scanned it and that it's safe.
Can you provide an option to view what documents are inside the files before you deep clean them? I'm not always sure what the contents of some files are & once permanently deleted they can't be recovered and I have accidently trashed files mistaking the contents. AVG app affects my battery life significantly enough for me to notice & not be pleased. Other than that will developed does what it's supposed to and saves me a lot of time and headache.
There is something dodgy about how this app is working. The shield and permissions keep turning themselves off which means it notifys me there is a problem and also I get an alert there is a problem and then have to switch it off and on again I have reported this issue and have noticed others say they have similar issues with the app. I certainly won't be paying to upgrade, in fact I am looking into other options for my device to keep it safe and for my own peace of mind.
Use to use AVG on my desktops and laptop during the 2010's. Never thought of it being available for my phone. Thank goodness.!!! Had a strange problem with all apps and phone itself. D-loaded the AVG app. Scanned and lo and behold it fixxed the problems. Thank you. Honestly don't know why I didn't think there was an app after using so long on desktops.
I had the free version of AVG and decided to go with the paid version after a while and all used to be great. Now that I've changed to a different cell phone I can't seem to get my paid version transferred over to this cell. Also when I activated pro version of AVG I thought I would have total coverage. NOT!!! .It seems like AVG wants to charge for individual items of coverage. Once my paid subscription plan is over I'll find a better Alternative.
Nice Antivirus app! I've been using this for almost 4 years and now but, there is one thing I have encountered from this antivirus system, it's just because it sometimes detects infected files for too long like up to 1 month or so then it will send me a random alert but it was 2 years ago anyways so they possibly fixed the bug and it improved the system. No issues so far, best AVG app I found. (By the way my dad offered me this app so that's why I experienced using this.) 5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I've used the free versions of AVG in the past on other phones so I dove in and paid for a subscription on my new one. I was using the pro version of Norton 360 but wasn't happy with the interface so now that it's expired I decided to change. Right off the bat AVG found 2 at risk issues with the deep scan that Norton hadn't flagged so I'm happy that I switched. I now feel that my phone is fully protected with real time scanning, daily cleaning, and all of the other components. Great app!
