Not bad but the UI is rubbish. Very intrusive, nags constantly, won't leave the notification bar with a generic 'Always looking out for you' message and, more worryingly, tells me every single WiFi connection my tablet makes 'Might be risky'. Okay for me as I know they're secure but less experienced users I know might well abandon the internet for that.
When you pay for the pro version on you home PC and you try to use it on your other devices, it wants you to pay again and will not let you sign in or make changes or upgrades. I paid for the full pro version and it is supposed to cover all my devices. Well, it doesn't. Good merely for simple task and that is about it. So, I'm just somewhat happy with my purchase, not completely happy with their promises because they've not been fulfilled. 😔
A fantastic app, but doesn't have the ability to whitelist apps running in the background. So every time you boost your phone's performance with the AVG app or widget, key background apps and processes are closed and don't work again until they're manually reopened. Very frustrating.
My daughter put the pin incorrectly several times and phone got locked by AVG as it should but the app pin didn't work to unlock the phone. When reset the PIN still didn't work . so cant access the phone the app. The so called 24/7 customer service is none existence as two days later still no reply to my emails. Was on hold on the phone for first time 40 minutes and second time 50 minutes as well but after I explained the problem they put me on hold and hang up on me! Further more the supposed feature "camera Trap" and locate when lost function doesn't actually exist. I am actually happy this happened now as still can back up my stuff. Imagine if you lost your phone and relying on the functions of this app which doesn't exist or workt! Stay clear of this app to save you a lot of head ache and money.
Issue following update 4/2/2019. I now have a permanent sticky notification, I'm unable to clear stating "AVG is running".. I know it is I installed it ! I can only clear this notification by disabling all sticky notifications for AVG from within the device notification settings. All I need to know is; 1) If there's an issue and it's not working 2) It's undertaking an activity ie. scanning or updating 3) The app requires my attention Come on AVG, I never had this issue before the update !!
Provides a variety of handy tools. Seems to work well, but as a future upgrade perhaps it can do multiple tasks with a single "go" command. Make that a customizable list so each user can choose what tasks make sense for them. Make the "go" button a screen widget.
Hi AVG...! I really don't have any issues with your software, actually I like it. BUT! I have got another AntiVirus for my phone now which I got free with my new laptop... And when I say free I mean full software just free of charge. Now I've been trying to delete AVG on my mobile for 2 hours stopping all the apps permissions and accessibility and what not, and when I go to uninstall it magically rewrite it self exactly where it was not letting me delete it. EXTREMELY ANOYING 😡😡😡PLEASE DELETE
The new version has added even more pointless notifications, like a puppy that wants everyone to take notice of it. A good security program should just work, without having to have popups all the time saying that it's "looking out for you"
I've had this app on several phones over the years and it's currently on a Galaxy S6 Active. After a software update from Samsung, a few months ago, the AVG app crashes up to 8 times a day and I don't know what would be making it do that.
A Solid performance from AVG, I have been using this for my pc and phone for years because it has always been reliable, for me anyway, and to be honest I don't know if I could ever switch to another Internet security software since this does just the job .
OMG this update has taken over my notification light, its now blinks away and you can't disable it without stopping all your notifications from all your apps. Plus you now have to download a new app to clean your junk files as the original junk file cleaner built in your antivirus doesn't work anymore. so its now a two-step app process, to clean your junk files. And now android is warning me that AVG is draining my battery. its draining at a rate of one percent every 5 minutes.
Ram Boost is horrible, the default phone app is much better because I have the ability to choose what apps I want to shut down. I like the app lock feature, but the use is sloppy as some apps may need to be unlocked twice.
The scan wifi feature has stopped working. Also when running the boost ram function nothing appears to be happening until it's run it's cycle. Please help? Also does this app take screen shots that aren't saved to the phone?
My phone stopped ringing and generally was not working optimally. Turned out my phone was infected. The AVG antivirus fixed the issues. Total phone functionality has improved significantly.
I've used AVG for years. I was advised by a close friend that this was the best to use and was free. Since then I have upgraded computers and added phones and new use the paid for app which is a great price for all the protection the app offers. Keep up the good work AVG. Thanks
always trying to cross sell products which is annoying. I want my anti-virus software to sit in the background until needed and just get on with daily tasks unless something serious happens. That said it does what it says on the tin!
Currently on a Pixel 3 and it tells me I have 1 threat. I click through and it gives me a red screen but no details. After poking around the red screen it asked to uninstall something called retail mode, which it can't seem to uninstall, not does anything show up in Android settings matching that name for me to manually uninstall.
Works as it should. Scans are very fast and gets out of the way when not being used. Their other services work very well and keeps my computer running fast and glitch free.
Been using AVG for many many years on various PCs and more recently phones and tablets. Absolutely brilliant, easy to use, fast and efficient product you can trust. The best there is!
Not bad, just ok. App constantly tells you your phone is at risk, and the reason that it is at risk is because the "Advanced Web Shield" isn't enabled. Ok, so you go and enable it. But it constantly disables on it's own so you have go and manually enable it all the time, which doesn't make sense.
