A great tool to get around website blocking on my workplace wi-fi. I would give it five stars if it would remember my login credentials instead of me having to type them in every single time.
The functionality is good overall. I have two issues though: 1. why can't credentials be saved? 2. for a while now, I think since the latest update, the cisco symbol keeps popping up in my notification bar and then disappearing a second later, while I am not connected or using the app. This should be fixed in order to prevent battery drainage.
Used for work, reliable and easy to use, both over Wi-Fi and mobile data; have never had any issues.
Not the worst vpn I ever used... But gosh it is bad. Only has 35 servers with most of them not working or terrible when they do. For the price I pay (similar to other vpns) I'm limited to 50 gb per month. What's the deal with that?
please add dark theme and a shortcut integrated to the drop down notification button.
Overall good experience with older versions. Lately though, you added some new module called NVM, which is acting "funny" in the background even when not connected to vpn. It came without noticing us, and it collects kind of "more" than simple metadata. And in combination with other vpn services it sometimes hangs and draws battery down. Also this is a privacy breach! Please create option to disable it!
I force stop this app everyday. I can tap menu => exit but within a few minutes the disconnected notification will reappear. There is also a problem where the app can't accept proxies forced by the organisation. Our managed services supplier actually suggested we setup a new apn everytime we connect on android which is ridiculous, it's easier to disconnect everytime you want to use the outside internet
The app disconnects without warning. If you are using hotel WiFi, make sure to keep checking it. Also, you can't leave it on over night. It will disconnect, leaving your phone vulnerable. That is annoying, but aside from that it works well.
Garbage product. Installed on a Samsung A32 and it just stopped working. Now unable to connect.
Errors out on "unexpected internal error" when trying to connect. Discovered that it will only connect if my phone is connected to WiFi, if I'm on LTE it fails with an error. Hasn't worked right for months now. Even more disappointing that Cisco seems to ignore the reviews with issues.
Painful experience. You are not able to store a password so one has to re-enter it every time. It doesn't support split tunneling on Android 8 or newer... Literally no one wants to use this app. If you have to use it because your university wants you to do so: use OpenConnect instead.
Most of my company's contracts use Cisco gear, and I need to be able to VPN into their environments. The Android AnyConnect client only allowing for 1 profile XML to be stored at a time is prohibiting me from doing that, because it subsequently won't remember all of the addresses I need it to since connecting to any of them download their reapective profiles, which overwrites the previous one.
VPN keeps disconnecting. Seemed to start after Android 9.0 was installed. Used to be very robust and stayed connected all day, but it hardly stays connected for 5 minutes. Seems to disconnect when screen is off but will stay connected when screen is on. Using a OnePlus 6.
the app has started crashing all the times, even when i am using my phone or not the app automatically disconnects my cell phone from internet. it itself breaks the connection. i have to give the credentials after every five minutes. it is really so much disappointing.
The app itself is ok, but widgets are absolutte rubish. I have a Oneplus 6 with Android 8.1. Widgets stop working after you disconnect. The so called large widget changes size, after you disconnect. Your not abel to resize so it fits horisontly on your screen. My first impresion is not great, i give it 3 stars just because the app itself works. Just dont have high hopes that widgets will work.
Was working exceptionally well! Until my university asked me to activate Duo. It doesn't work at all I'm in the UK and my college is in the US. Certain apps and web apps aren't available here! Clearly I cannot access any of my college's content! I'm frustrated. Please Fix it Cisco! I really need it!
No option to save a connections password. Ugly and out dated UI. Not having the option to cancel connection attempt so you have to wait minutes to see it fail or go to settings and kill the app. It's just terrible.
It works (but needs to be better.) This app is painfully slow to load, and worse yet, will not allow you to save credentials. Look forward to losing 2 minutes from your life every time you use this service for a process that should take 3-5 seconds with biometric authentication available.
I've experienced some critical bugs: - Battery and Memory usage is very high - Mostly using the app warms up the Mobile temperature - To start the VPN connection everytime it asks for username and password - Even after the VPN service is stopped (Data transfer speed = Zero) the Key sighn is displayed on the top of the mobile screen.
This VPN app worked very well until just recently. Now it will only work on WiFi connections. No longer allowed on TMobile cellular connections. Software connects but cannot actually last any website Suggestions to change port off of 443 do not work on mobile application as of this review
Keeps crashing all the time even when not in use popping up the app keeps stopping dialog in the middle of everything else. The interruptions are really annoying.
I have an issue where DNS is not going across the tunnel anymore. I reinstalled the app and same issue. Any connect works just fine on my win 10 PC so I don't think it is our companies VPN that is the problem. Used to work just fine.
Works good, but can't play any video content through connect because it will slow down and lock everything up. Would be better if it could auto connect without need for re-entering passord.
To all the smarty pants that make these non-sense comments about the AC client and why this and that doesn't work: First of all, its not good security practice to save your username and password. Anyone getting a hold of your device then just has to click to connect the VPN session and they are on your corporate network. Not very good. So don't ask for this function because its poor security practice to use such feature in the first place! To the complainers about user experience - you should work with your team or person that has designed and deployed the solution. There are literally hundreds of options in Anyconnect on how to make it function, appear to the user, what options the user has and so on. Most of them are configured on the VPN gateway. So if stuff doesn't work properly, chances are the security admin in charge of your ASA or Firepower VPN headend can tweak the options to make it work better for you.
Shady as hell. Even when I'm not using the app it makes a notification that lasts for less than a second and disappears. Happens a dozen times a day. What's it doing activating itself all day after I've closed the app? Uninstalled.
Doesn't allow to save password. That's very inconvenient. Unable to start connection immediately. Why don't you allow to users decide whether to store pass or not?!
Doesn't allow to redirect some app or website to go through the tunnel with dinner other app or website to go without tunneling to vpn. For this reason i have to log in and out many times during the day according what i use in my phone. Really annoying
No longer connects to my work VPN on TMobile network due to some IP V6 vs IP V4 issue. Works perfectly on WiFi. The VPN connection to the selected secure gateway requires a routable IPv4 physical adapter address. Please move to an IPv4 network and retry the connection or select a different secure gateway." Pixel 6 Pro on TMobile network.. tried to switch the option to IP V4 on the APN settings.. no success. Please help
