App hijacks my phone any time I want to go to an AOPA web article, and then doesn't take me to the article in the app. Changing permissions for the default didn't help. It has so much potential to be a great app! I love the airport check in feature. Edit: Uninstall and reinstall fixed the problem. Just don't ever say open in app. Always browser.
Don't waste your time. Flight planner doesn't function, just opens a browser page and bounces back to the "app." A horrific farce calling this membership a bonus feature. Not suitable for any purpose whatsoever. Uninstalling immediately.
Not useful. It downloads a database for airports but never locates any. The idea of promoting restaurants by the airport is good but the app doesn't work right. Similar experience documented by Mr. Barker.
The airport "check in" feature needs improvement. I am too busy at the airport to remember to do it, and after I leave the app tells me I'm too far away. Fix it or get rid of it. The airport info/procedures should be more easily accessible in an offline file directory format.
When trying to open an article in my office it will switch me to the app. The handoff is lost in transit and I'm confronted with the home screen. There is no way, in the app, to search for the article either.
I have used this app ever since it became available. It was updated a few months back. The MAJOR problem is that it does not update the airport procedures completely. If a new SID or DP is added or deleted the app doesn't show that action. Just compare the main AOPA site with the app and you will see the difference. I have written to AOPA twice about this problem but it has still not been resolved. Do not use this app as a reference.
The app apparently can't parse Google search results. It co-opts followed links from search results to AOPA content and then displays a generic page with no search-relevant content. Hard to conceive of this as anything but a breaking bug that should never have been released to a general audience.
All links go to home page of app. Had to uninstall to read web pages.
Can't login. When I can, no user tied features work. I get asked to log in again. I'm only using this for airport check ins. Everything else is the same as the website, a thinly masked advert.
Wow this app is garbage. All I want is to be able to see airport information, but it I can't even pull up and airport after searching for it. Guess I'll stick to the website.
Bugs all over. Podcasts stop mid-stream, the fight planner simply doesn't work, airport diagrams won't display and the account isn't updated or synced. I expected more from AOPA.
Requests access to personal files and media on my device which it has no need for. When I deny the app becomes unresponsive and claims to have no connection.
This app has more problems with it than I could ever describe in this space. I think AOPA has outsourced the writing for this app's code to some back alley wannabe software shop in a 3rd world country. I would NEVER rely on this app for anything related to flying. My confidence in AOPA and what they do has been completely undermined given they frequently advertise this app. In my opinion their image is irreparably harmed.
App wants access to everything. Otherwise, it spends its time trying to load files. Basically useless.
App is not useful. Most of the items I clicked on directed me to a web browser and immediately back to the app, leaving me where I started. Having the app installed also makes the web page difficult to use because while on the web site, the app constantly appears (even when I closed it). I *must* uninstall this app in order to have any chance at accessing the web page.
