APEX Pro LLC

APEX Pro is fundamentally an artificial intelligence vehicle simulation algorithm, providing real-time feedback to the driver. Over the course of a track session, APEX learns the performance limits of your vehicle and models its optimal performance at every point on the track. To make the model easy to interpret, APEX displays your current performance as a fraction of your potential performance.

APEX uses inertial (IMU) measurements and GPS to model your driving ability, your car, and the track you are on in real time. As APEX learns, it will predict your theoretical performance instantaneously. To make the complex model easy to interpret, we reduce it to a single score that is shown on the DDC as a red bar extending from left to right. Because different situations require different levels of driving effort, the peak changes as you encounter different situations; for instance, most vehicles can brake harder than accelerate so the displayed peak is higher for braking.

The APEX Pro Coaching feature is a natural extension of the model: We constantly predict the peak performance we anticipate you should attempt, then display your current performance as a fraction of that limit as a green bar reaching toward the red limit bar. By overlapping the two, you receive intuitive feedback at a glance: if you see mostly red – you can push yourself and the car harder. Mostly green and you are near the limit. “Pushing harder” can mean either accelerating, braking, or cornering as the situation dictates – we leave the driving up to you!

Useless. The same app on iOS has MUCH more functionality. Developer neglects android to our detriment. For those of us that are busy looking through the apex to the next turn, the hardware is most useful for post session review. Devoid of any real finctionality in the app, android users are left with useless data from a device that costs hundreds of dollars. The only real takeaway I get is I have lots of room for improvement. Knew that when i bought it.

The app is a glitchy, fiddly lap timer for use with the Apex Pro hardware.

The hardware is nice but the Android app still lacks several significant promised features that the iOS version has and while development continues on iOS, Android seems to only get bug fixes. Even with latest updates, no progress on delivering promised capabilities.
