why use this when you have File Explorer installed on your phone already, there the exact same. they pretty much copied File Explorer and changed the icon, then put it on Play Store. You can already install .apk files with the defult, there is nothing different between the two besides background color.

I wanted to install the Time Warner Cable Hot Spot finder app on my Tablet since it's Wi-Fi only and if you are a TWC Internet customer you can connect to any of their Hot Spots for free, but you need the TWC app to sign into your TWC account. Also works on Boingo Networks. Wouldn't you know it? The app was not compatible with my Tablet, even though it's a KitKat Android Device. I guess it's because it's not a major brand, but works just as good as them at a fraction of the price. So I downloaded this APK installer, downloaded the TWC Hotspot Finder APK, Installed and now I have WiFi on the go for my tablet. Helps to save the battery life on my phone since I don't have to use it for my internet browsing all the time while I'm out and want to kill time, and have an alternative device to mess with. Finally, This APK Installer Works with my old Android 3.x phone. Using it for newer apps that aren't supposed to be compatible with my phone, but guess what? They work just fine. So I would say this is a must have for folks with older Android devices that don't want to upgrade for some apps that have the silly notion of making you have a more recent device to use.

I use HTC I hav all apk back up in sd card, no file manager in HTC so dis app is best to install other app,,, dis app is best of all because its only 30 kb, instead of downloading other big app first we can download dis app and install other app nx :)

50 years in technology and I knew nothing about APK Files, until a great guy from PayPal told me the reason I couldn't install the PayPal App on my new 2nd generation Google Nexus 7 tablet, was because I hadn't got an APK installer. I had my 1st generation Nexus for 15 months and thought I knew all about the inception and invention of Android. What a dummy I was! Now I know all about APK files, the 50Mb limit Google had laid on installation of Apps, etc. etc. This installer is superb, I didn't need to root my Nexus, as this would have invalidated my guarantee. I then installed PayPal App no problem, having to untick a box in security and now I can access PayPal on the hoof. I am so pleased, after getting the advice, I managed to sort it.

I am going bonkers trying to get a good VPN on my phone. I have downloaded several of the most recommended VPN apk's, but I am unable to install! I just get the first page of permissions, and the "next" button turns to "install", a button that I can't click

But worthless because it does not see my SD card and has no option to set a "custom" path (/storage/externalSD/ isn't exactly obscure).. The basic CyanogenMod file manager is much more useful than this app.

I can't install apk from SD even enabled it in setting. This apps make it possible

there are settings on your device that regulate that. you can make it so your device allows 3rd party installations. whoever created this app has wasted there money.

Worked good,I needed to reinstall a paid dictionary that have already new version and the key that I have wasn't valid for this new version.I reinstaled from apk file and worked nice

Tried installing FPse with File Explorer and it refused to install. Used this APK Installer and it worked first try. It's clear to me that this and File Explorer are programs with two entirely different purposes. Thanks!

I've never had any problem with it. A good app that does what it is supposed to do without causing any problem

Works just fine on my lg volt, in fact it sortta boosted my phone, and it mainly depends on the phone u have, in order for it to work,( not saying u have a bad phone)

Keeps saying "app not installed" until I free up waaaaay more space than I need to install the app

My SD card option don't work. Add the first option but with a 1 instead of 0 then it may work. The is 30 kB lighter the the other app I use

Android phones accept APK files without this software. Not a necessity.

I tried to install my .apk file and it said "not installed" like it did on all the other apps.

The app didn't help my issue that apk files weren't parsing
