App Ops [Root]

App Ops is compatible with Lollipop!
App Ops is an activity, within the Settings app, that allows users to enable or disable operations on a per-app basis. These operations cover many common scenarios identified by permissions (e.g., read contacts, write contacts, access location), though it is not a pure one-to-one mapping.

Root required.

On Android 4.4.2, App Ops is removed. This app helps you to bring it back.

Otherwise, this app have a button to start stock App Ops on older Android version (4.3, 4.4)

Excellent and unique app. Working perfectly in Android 5.1.1 @Samsung Galaxy Note 4 rooted with SuperSU. Pro version purchased right away. Thanks dev and please keep up the good work ! UPDATE: previous review was due to a glitch when moving the app to /system, which is now solved.

What kind of a developer publishes an app without a single word in the description?

how to uninstall the app ?

Ric. N. Jan 10, 2016

Won't let you block an app from all of the access you had to allow to install it. Example: an app requested media, call log and identity permission to install. This app opps will only allow me to block it from modify settings, draw on top and keep awake!!! Issue #2 is the apps are not sortable so you have to scroll through all of the apps just to find what you are looking for. This pertains to the root version and the unrooted version. Poor application !

Loved it when it was in lollipop. Although there are plenty of scopes to improve the interface but overall it was working perfectly. I was able to save a lot of energy consumption of my mobile but unfortunately it is no more working in Marshmallow. Although Marshmallow has a permission adjustment area but not as exhaustive as this app. Dev.... Can you update this app to work in Marshmallow too?

Got it rooted. Can see what apps used what and when, but crashes when I click on it to change permissions.

Doesnt start. Asks for root permissions, but nothing happens for several minutes. Just a black screen :/

No way to SEARCH for apps. No way to revert changes to default perm set. INVASIVE FULL SCREEN ADS.

Can't love this app more. I tune privacy and device wakeup and keep awake for every single app I install and system apps. Google play services not draining my battery anymore!

I was almost able to live with the little ads at the bottom but when exiting it popped up a full screen screaming video ad. That's a real POS move

Thank you. I was always really uncomfortable with all the permissions most apps think they need.

Working fine on my rooted 5.1.1 smartphone. A good tool to turn off permissions from individual system and user apps. Only bad thing is showing too much ads.

This app doesn't work for Facebook. I disabled all options and I can still get accurate check-in predictions and can see my photos stored on phone through app.

After installing the system module and rebooting, the actual app ops manager just crashes at launch. Cm12, Android 5.0.2. Only tried it because Privacy Guard isn't in the nightly build yet ):

I loved this when my devices were on kitkat. Now that one device is on lollipop, I can use this. It needs a search feature. Marshmallow has its own permissions, so that's fine.

Bottom ads (ok) but.. Then a full-screen ad appears when hit back button. Ugly. Also the app some times closes itself (1+2 rooted stock)

Just hangs on loading on rooted Samsung Galaxy S4 running CM12.

This app isn't working on S5 g901f 4.4.4 just goes to a black screen. I've tried force close but nothing. It doesn't even ask for root permission at start up. Uninstalled

One of the reasons why I like Android so much is due to this app. Thanks to it I can control exactly what each app can access in my phone. This is a must have app!
