App Watcher - Updates notifier

Nice, though UI confusing and partially unclear. Some things that could be useful: (1) be able to filter out/only system apps (or, to show just manually installed apps); (2) show release date of installed apps, not just version number *** BTW, sad that Play Store just hides more and more info, requiring 3rd party apps to do what it once did.

I can't believe I haven't left a rating until now! I've been enjoying the use of this app since I discovered it at least 5 years ago. Incredibly helpful. I would probably join the beta if it wasn't already full. The only thing I find myself missing is a feature that goes through your complete list to help you automatically find entries that no longer exist on Google Play. Right now the only way to weed those out is to manually check each one. Otherwise, kudos and Bravo!

Didn't realize how much I needed this until I began to work with it. This functionality should be part of the Android system by default. This app fills a needed omission.

Great app, does what it says. Multiple notifications for the same app can be annoying. For whatever reason the recent update broke the updateable section, sometimes it shows properly and sometimes it doesn't show it at all. Have to reset data and import all over again for it to work.

This is such a useful and well made app. It works great and looks great doing it! I use it about twice a week to check through the latest update changes and keep up with new features on all my other apps. I've used many other similar apps over the years and this one is by far the best. It looks great, works great, and reliably and consistently does exactly what I want/need it to do. I've not found another similar app that works as consistently well as this.

8 April 2019: Tags still don't work... Context menu empty. 23 Jan 2019: Since most recent update, this app won't allow 'watching' an app or giving it a tag. Prev Review - 3 Dec 2018: Love this app - I like having a record of all my apps & auto checking for updates is good. Only problem I have is this: when an app has been recently updated two days in a row, clicking the 'play' button takes me to the first update. It doesn't refresh & show the most recent details, unless you exit & click again

No ads, no permissions, no crashes, and no cost. All the attributes that makes this app a no-brainer install. Insanely useful. Alphabetizing is a bit off and suffers a duplicates bug. Never heard back from developer about bug so fixed (edited) list manually via export/import in settings.

Wow!! Google playstore will not show me my updates without crashing. I have tried everything I can think of in addition to every idea that google search rendered. This app is the solution and then some. It will sort out what needs updates without crashing. It has not rendered false positives, every app it flags as needing an update truly needs an update in the Google playstore. I tried other apps that claim that it can update apps but they are just a waste of time. This app delivers. AWESOME!

For the chronic app hoarder, this is a great app to help you remember the apps you played with. Essentially you can create lists of apps (both installed and not) and get to appstore in one click. Automation to quickly enter the current installed apps and wishlists, but I also want dev to get list of installed previous apps. One final suggestion is to allow user to have his own apk directory, as some apps are not from appstore.

05/15: Can you add package name of the installed app? The app does what it is supposed to. However, a bug is noticed, i.e. I have created several "tags" and assigned apps. Now, when I export the settings and imports it back from the saved settings file. The tags just go haywire i.e. all the apps are assigned to a single tag. Also, cloud backup does not function and return "index 0 set 0" when tap sync.

Great; however I think the absence of an option for hiding the summary of apps' "WHAT'S NEW" in lists is worth mentioning. Also the previous design for showing both version names and version codes for device and Play Store versions of an app side by side, for every app in lists, was better. Now I have to tap on an app entry to see these in one place; an unnecessary extra step, which wasn't present in the old design of the app. Finally I frequently face a dialog at the app's startup, which asks for a previously given permission for access to my Google account. Please fix. Thanks in advance.

Doesn't work. I don't really see the point in this app. Every section 'installed', 'not installed' and 'updateable' is blank. Clicking the top arrow takes me to installed apps so what's the point in these three sections which are blank? Also according to the app I have no apps with updates despite playstore clearly indicating 6 apps with updates. Pointless app which doesn't work

Great app that brings back a feature that was removed by Google. The only annoyance I have is that there can be repetitive notifications for the same app update for no apparent reason.

This app does what it says. I like that this app had true black dark theme too. However I have disabled the option to show notifications for already updated apps but somehow it still shows me notification. I hope it will get fixed soon.

Almost perfect tool. Only one problem, anytime I remove an app it always returns to the list of watched apps with its new version. So I cannot effectively stop watching any app.

There should be a way to prevent duplicates updates. I mean some apps are updated often with a default info or same change log with the previous version. The app would be perfect if this feature is added.

PLEASE add the ability to watch/alert price changes. Also, the ability to sort, search and filter Google Play wishlist by keywords, dates, etc would be nice.

Thankful for the app but deducted a star because the app tells me at than an app had been updated 3 or 4 times. I only need a single notification for each app! I also like that the app retrives the update notes, so assuming the developer filled this info in, we can see what changed were made. Google's app update never shows this detail.

FINALLY I found one that works. YES IT'S LAGGY but at least it's the only one of these apps that works like I want. It's confusing though so do this: 1. "Import Installed" 2. Click "ALL". 3. Click "IMPORT" (VERY LAGGY BUT WILL WORK). DON'T TRY TO SCROLL. Just wait it will turn all red. Then click OK or go back. 4. Next, touch the LIGHTNING BOLT icon at the top and choose "Updateable apps". Now you see list of all the apps including frozen! Click any, click play icon to go to play store to update.

I love it, super convenient and super useful, and I really love the feature where you can choose which apps to be notified if there is a update.

I have handful of apps that I need to update at the same time, so therefore can't be auto-updatet by play store. This is the only app I found that can check updates for just specific group of apps rather than all of them. And it's doing the job good. thanks

Stop. Don't look for anything else, THIS is the app you want. I tried the rest and nothing has a cleaner interface and it's easier to use than this one (plus they don't kill you with ads) this app is awesome. Give it a try.

This app is unique and has a lovely interface, and that's what I've been searching for such a long time. I love the tags feature because it lets me keep lists elements very well ordered and it also has an almost-intelligent theme switching system. The "Import Installed" feature really is n00b-ready and the backup/restore feature is what would make use this app 'till I die LOL. It's undoubtly worth of a 5 stars rating. I'd really like to get the following features: - multiple selection and deletion/sharing of the apps in the "Watching" list - implementation of "F-Droid" as apps store just like "Google Play Store" is implemented. Moreover "F-Droid" doesn't require any account login. I ask this because there are many apps I use from F-Droid which are absent in Google Play Store. Since "App Watcher" is a kind of "Power User"-targeted app(I guess) I may not be the only user who would like this feature. I hope these suggestions make this app even better than it is ATM.

This app is awesome exactly what I was looking for.👌😊 I was using apkgrabber/updater and it was barely working. Only downside is that it's not possible to get info of apps outside the store

Shows notifications about new versions of apps infinitely each few hours when you swipe notifications away. Maybe you could show them once instead.

I don't think Contacts permission (find accounts on the device) is necessary. It should be coded as an option not compulsory. The app keeps asking for email account and won't function without it!

Yo when I try to update apps through App Watcher, Google Play has issues displaying the app page. I usually get that error with the satellite dude, it can't find the app.

Amazing!! Can you guys just add a tile view option everywhere and also add a select all in the wishlist to add all wishlist items at once? I have hundreds of wishlist apps and takes me years to click every-one. Also, maybe a sub-tags option?

Very easy way to manage what is installed and the updates that get pushed out. Much more organized than the play store.
