This app provides a wealth of information about which apps are accessing what data on your phone. It does a very nice job of ranking the level of danger. That being said, I installed this product because I was getting ads displayed immediately after unlocking my phone. It was not able to detect which app was pushing the ad, which is why I gave it only 4 stars. I was able to fix my problem using another app...
The "Show Concerns" list display a category of problems. When I go into a category on that list, the problem apps are shown along w/descriptions of the problem permissions such as "Can access your contacts" MY ISSUE IS: When I open that specific App Information, the permissions are disabled. I went to dozens on the list and the AppBrain information is inaccurate. None of the Indicated permissions are active, all were already disabled. Am I looking at this correctly, or missing something?
It's Fair. *When I click on About, it's a link for an app ad, it's not info about this app, bummer. *I will clear a notification by clicking on the app (which shows 999+) listed in the Notification Statistics. It did clear the 999+ entries. But the when viewing the Statistics list, the app is still listed showing 999+. "This app needs an improved method clearing Notifications.
Made mo difference. Even allowed pop-ups when I was using my phone to NAVIGATE, thereby blocking the screen and upcoming turns!!! AppBrain asked me to elaborate: Since I uninstalled their app, I have seen NO difference in the frequency of pop-ups - the app does not do anything. It even kept allowing pop-up ads while I was using my phone to navigate. The pop-up would block nav screen, so you could NOT see it, forcing you to look away from the road to find the "X" to close the pop-up. DANGEROUS!
brilliant application. thanks to the developer. I can now relax after days of constant ad pop ups on my phone and not being able to find out where exactly and how else to rid of it . thanks to this app I am shown what apps and that are connected to vungle pop up ads . I've tried loads of options even my settings and I've still been getting them . thanks again Developer
Thank you so much!!! I went through piles and PILES of files within my phone trying to rectify the problem, and didn't change a thing sadly :( but when i got this, ads stopped appearing on my chrome AND my whole screen! Thank you so much AppBrain! I owe it to you! 😀
Was getting random full screen pop ups on ky phone, and this app saved me time effortlessly!! In less than 10 seconds I identified the problem and solved it, no more pop ups!! Also, there browser app brave, seems to be working well with good speed and blocks ads! I 100 percent recomend this app.
Had random ads pop up as soon as I unlocked my phone, everytime! My own fault I downloaded a sketchy program. But I couldn't find the app anywhere, walwarebytes couldn't find it, avg couldn't find, Norton coulnds find it ect... So I downloaded this app and went to ads tab and saw an app that had no name and no picture at the bottom of the list, I may have not even noticed if it hadn't been for the empty space at the bottom which kinda stuck out
I was searching for the solution for the pop-up ads in my mobile and then I got suggested this app by an youtuber to sort out that problem and I installed this app and found that nameless and iconless app and uninstalled it through which I got relief from my problem. Thank you so much AppBrain Ad Detector for providing such an excellent service and so for that I would like to give 5 stars and I will surely suggest this app for anyone who has this pop-ip ad problem.
Excellent forget all other apps! Have had nothing but issues with ads appearing as soon as phone was unlocked (S10+) this app was the only one that found two apps that were installed without my knowledge! This app is not leaving my phone!
Finally! An app that shows me what the ads are. I knew the one causing me full screen random ads even with no browser open was a certain one and this was the only app that told me which of my apps was using that ad company.
Amazingly useful. The app very responsive and I like the uncomplicated UI. Great job! I do have one suggestion for improvement: add support for detecting kits from the Huawei Mobile Services.
Brilliant, totally free app. Not sure it's always 100% accurate, though. E.g. Brave Browser listed as "no concerns" but it certainly has both ad and non-ad notifications.
This app does exactly what it says and I'm really happy for it! Keep working on functionality, don't push yourself too hard about the interface! Although that IS mandatory for a "good app".

I have recommended this app for a long time. Easy to use and helps find privacy problems in your device. Using the app you also help contribute to the info on the site which means people can usually see an app does things they don't like, before installing it. Normally having adverts in an app that helps you get rid of adware would lose a star, but this is a rare app that shows adverts actually controlled by the app developers so they know what users will be seeing. Used with their front-end for the google store you will always be more informed about your app choices before making a mistake you regret.
It's simple, useful, and amazing! I loved it! It detected the apps that had annoying advertising concerns, and thanks to this app I could eliminate them.
Soon as a full screen ad took over my phone I opened this to see what caused it, and there was no info, only a notification a few hours ago for wifi. Worthless app, does not work.
This app hasnt worked since the day it was installed. I have constant ads and pop ups.
The description of the app is just not right, it is misleading!! I installed this app hoping to remove buildin stupid annoying junk ads from my apps, but this app only shows what type of app ad mod is builtin in other app and does nothing...rubbish.
Fantastic app where have you been these past months of my life I was getting fed up of all the pop up adds and since installing this one I've not seen one single pop up. I'm chuffed to bits and definitely kepping you 😊
Helped me identify an app that was causing full page ads on my screen every time I opened my browser. Subsequently uninstalled the offending app and my problem was solved. Thank-you.
Can't open app, continuously crashes and whilst typing review I've received 5 msgs to close app or report feedback which I've done twice. Looks great but unfortunately I can't use, it's no good to me. Please fix
Can't even get it to update the database. It keeps telling me the the device ran out of memory and crashes. Not a very good app if you can't even get it to load.
Great app! Very useful for developers and tech research but unfortunately crashes after a few seconds of launch.
Wow!!! I dont review a lot of apps, but this one helped me so much!!! I've been getting pop ups for such a long time and it was so irking and annoying - but I didn't want to factory reset my phone, and then, I stumbled upon this app. As I went through the app's security concerns, I found an app with no name, icon or whatever. When I clicked on it, I saw a bunch of advertising companies and stuff. This app not only showed me where it was, but allowed me to directly access my settings so I could delete it. I am quite happy and pleased to say I haven't had any pop up ads since then. Seriously, great work. I dont know what I would've done without this app.
