This app is absolutely pointless. it has to be plugged up through the USB cable and It can't be ran in the background for most devices, and it just mirrors whats on the screen. so when I press the button to lock my phone it disappears from the in-Dash screen also. for all that I could use my phone instead of having the same thing displayed on another screen. I figure it would connect through bluetooth then I can put my phone down and solely control the features it have from the Dash.
Absolutely horrible. I updated my head unit to this beautiful stereo ( MVH1400-NEX) . I wanted to combine my Spotify and my Waze to it only to find out Waze is no longer supported. The apps connected to this app are absolutely horrid and useless. And when trying to use the one video streaming app, it just plays sound through my phone and not the stereo. Come on Pioneer! Pull it together and do it right! Please update this app!
Pioneer are Rubbish At linking head units to apps, doesn't link to Android. Great sound but no good at modern day car hifi.
Music only plays through phone speakers since phone updated to Android 9. About two months ago, i received a message that Waze would no longer be supported. Then my phone updated its OS from Android 8 to Android 9. Now music on my phone will only play back through the phone speaker. This renders the app effectively useless for me. Ruins an otherwise nice head unit. Hope this gets remedied quickly. (phone-moto g6, head unit-AVH-X4800BS)
Garbage. Doesn't work with my s9+ at all with 5 different cables. Look at and reviews most Samsung phones do not work right. If you have the chance take the head unit back!!! If you are lucky you will just end up with a 1/3rd functional Bluetooth stereo. That's what I paid $450 to remove! I'd just hook a Chromecast up to the aux in, but I'm done wasting my life with this thing!
Meh. User interface is lackluster, boring. On at least three occasions the app crashed my phone during road trips taking my navigation with it. If I had ANY other app choice I would jump at it. Wish I had researched a bit more before buying pioneer.
Pioneer should refund us car stereo buyers for their APP RADIO. I absolutely hate the fact I can't do a simple charging to my Android phone without loosing my Bluetooth connection to my Spotify music. Whenever I try to connect my phone I also get a response from the APP RADIO to link up with the APP, which I supposedly deleted but keeps coming back. Otherwise I love the music quality from the stereo BUT I HATE THE CONNECTION ISSUES. Also I can't link my daughter's phone to it either, grr Pioneer
Awesome once you know how to use it. It has some great features, i.e., it can read your msgs back to you (text and messenger) and enables lots of voice commands on your Pioneer unit. So for me, it has opened a new world of functionality. I believe it will take some practice using it; there's some awkwardness going on, still, but i think it's me. I just downloaded the app yesterday. very good so far.
No Pandora option, app layout is just terrible in general considering I paid $300 for the headunit itself. Contacted Pioneer regarding these terrible apps (AppRadio included) several weeks ago and they sent me a general response email and clearly have done nothing to resolve the issue. If it isn't too late for you, buy from someone other than pioneer.
Simply does not work properly always cutting in and out. Can't controls all the features on screen always have to be going back to the phone to make selections.
It keeps shutting off navigation on a trip uninstalled to see if I can get navigation back. Sitting at an eerie rest stop, not good. Keep your app pioneer and fix the blasted thing!
App doesnt even work, logged in as prompted but nothing happens. Went back and forth to change settings and linked as requested and still nothing. Been staring at my hp for 10 mins for nothing. Apps is hopeless🤢
doesnt work. downloaded and tried almost every method used on youtube and failed multiple times. cant pair to my s10+. its easier to stream using bluetooth or the pandora app on the radio. if i were you, i would skip this nonsense.
When I'm at the AppRadioLIVE site to register and be able to use everything my headunit has to offer, it thinks my email address is incorrect. Trust me when I say I've had it 10+ years so I'll say it's pretty real. Even when I made another address, nope..cant recognize that as being real either...come on PIONEER...get your act together.
app is too slow for using it while driving. it takes time to respond when using youtube. post updating my one plus 5t to android Pie 9, app radionlive is behaving abnormal. Audio is coming from phone instead of car speakers.
This sort of worked with the AVH-2330 with Waze. Since Waze is gone and the native map application can't search and now can't find routes to previous destinations, it seems this has been abandoned.
app is rubbish every time you plug the phone in it says keyboard wont work. every time i get a notification it turns off the dab radio and changes the music to Bluetooth. wont buy another pioneer radio again.
Trash, does nothing great. Tried simple things like change background, no go. Phone is more useful without app. Was hoping would take head unit to next level. Really sad, how about some companies start making them better like gauges.... I am deeply saddened.
Does not play audio through the radio with newer phones. The app keeps crashing even when not in use. Seriously needs some updating .
I'll start with I'll never buy another Pioneer product again, and whoever developed this app needs to be fired!! Whomever is maintaining this app also needs to be fired.. Now I'm calling Pioneer.. I'm only giving 1 star because I can't give it 0 stars. This has to be the most undependable app I've ever seen. Pure junk, going to uninstall it now!
This App. Is terrible. It will not let sound play through the speakers of my car! You can see qhats playing but you can't hear a thing. The sound still comes from the phone
Don't work I've tried everything who what's a nice 300+ dollar that's just the unit not including the install all to hear the music on my phone really all the apps are beyond embarrassing extremely fusterating so much that I've wanted to take it out and smash it but the amount of money I spent for a complete headache makes it a freaking nightmare good luck getting anyone from pioneer to care better yet a reply would be shocking... 10/9/2019
Terrible experience. Cannot mirror phone at all. Only mirrors the app on the head unit. And the app has no features at all. Shame on whoever designed it
App does not function at all correctly. It crashes constantly. App states that it can connect to my head unit via bluetooth, yet it does not. the only way to get the app to show up on the unit is via usb. But, to be honest, it could also be the unit, or both. The unit is a brand new purchased AVH 500EX. My phone is a Galaxy S10. I have issues with both the app and the unit. Really, Pioneer used to be an excellent mid to high end audio company, I guess those days of quality are long gone.
