Appy Gamer – Games news

Used to work great ages ago. So great that I subscribed. For the last few months it refuses to connect and says NO NEW ARTICLES. Since it is a glorfied RSS feed this is obviously false. It was great but now it is junk. Other apps out there now.

It was great some years ago but it got less and less, and then more and more issues. Now it won't open, shows "network dns error" and "no internet connection" so, it is time to let go

The app is no longer supported by devs and fails on launch. Appy Gamer and Appy Geek has been replaced by a parent app called News Republic which covers both game and technology news. This app is however not recommended since it is not user friendly and makes it extremely diffucult to set up and view streams. I now use Inoreader which is very simple to set up and use.

Used to work great but it hasn't updated for the last 5 days and when I tried opening the app, it gave a 404 error. Their website appears to be down too. Not sure if they closed up or what but as it stands, seems this app no longer works. It's a bummer since it was the best out there.

At first I gave it 5 stars and kept it that way for a long time hoping they will fix it but so far nothing. The app is still amazing when it works but lately, it opens but the page takes ages to load up and sometimes it doesn't even load up at all. Pls fix it so I can go back to 5 stars coz this app deserves 5 stars if it works well

I used to use gaming news app, but that got flooded with advertising and sort of ruined it. This one is really well layered and I like the way you can move around the topics, the only thing I have noticed is first thing in the morning the articles don't appear to be loaded which is odd, but once it has it's good

Since April 2018 I was having issues with the app that no new articles were loading, would probably get 5 articles a week which is strange because there's usually a new article every 30 minutes. After thinking there was something wrong on my side. Alot of people were having this problem. After using this app for many years today marks the day I have officially installed it. Not by choice but nothing has been updated neither no one is getting new articles. This was once the best video game article app now it's turned to nothing

It does what it's supposed to. All my nerdy, gaming news in one spot. Doesn't overburden you with ads. The 1-2 sentence Gamespot articles get annoying though. But you could just ignore them. Someone else 2 swipes down will be reporting the exact same thing

This used to be a great app and one that i pay for however over the past 3 weeks or so there has been a noticeably sharp decline in the news articles published as well as a general slow down of the app. Not really useful any more and if it doesnt change then I'll remove my subscription.

This app is fantastic! All the news you'd want for gaming all viewed easily in one place! My only issue was at first not being able to figure out easily how to rearrange the "My Topics" page. The app did eventually give me a tutorial but it was curious that it was on day 2 of using the app. Anyways, very minor issue so it still gets 5 stars from me.

The app is pretty good since it includes all the news sources you could want and is constantly adding more. Given the amount of sources it does mean that at times images and videos won't load probably because of compatibility issues. But there's a nice workaround to that by using the "Read this article on the web" button at the end of an article. Comments don't work at all, but I don't mind since I wouldn't use them anyway. Speaking of which, a nice addition would be to disable reactions to articles. They don't really offer much since there could be many reasons for one and no way to know what everyone means by them. They can easily be used to troll so it would be nice have the option to avoid them. Great app nonetheless and hope the feedback is taken into consideration for further improvements.

Hands down nothing better on the mobile platform for gaming news. People will always have a problem with something so don't let a negative review detour you this app rocks. Though I do have one request that would set this app to be the best app ever. Let super gamers have like a actual page within the app (upgraded profile) that allows us to give opinions on games we are playing and articles we have on our page. That would streamline our comments on articles and allow us to give opinions on games. Just saying that'll set you guys to Rockstar status.

This app used to work pretty well for a while but a few months ago it slowly started freezing up and not loading any articles or news feeds. As of right now it only works about 10% of the time, with all of the updates installed and steady 4g. Guess I'll look for a different app that actually works.

I love it. Customisable, simple, intuitive, a great UI. All gamers with a mobile phone device should have this app. Unlike plenty of others, you can actually see that effort and care has gone into this. Well done dev team. I'm very hard to please and constantly ridicule other apps/companies, etc so take my word for it...this is 5 star quality.

It's great app, but I'm not sure if the original website get visited count when I open it with this app Update: since April 2018 the app has an issue with connection for some reason. Even tho my connection is fine but often than not, the articles won't load and lots of new articles are not even there

I like the structure of the app and the way the mood system works. I also think its a smart idea the way you earn points as you give feedback and share, as it encourages users to be more active. The widgets are great too as i can get information quickly. I work at Besy Buy and i need to stay updated on gaming and tech news to be able to help customers, and this app helps me do it. Love it!

Great app for gaming news. However news topics you can set up do not do a very good job of filtering out other system/console news. App was working great on s7 for a long time and now it just stopped working and won't connect to the server.

The app was working perfectly 3 days ago and now it isn't, constantly giving back an invalid server response. I enjoy this app quite a bit as it gives me most of my gaming news and am extremely disappointed that the app developers have not fix this particular problem yet.

Been using this app for years. It has all the gaming information you want when it comes out. Instead of hammering you with just one review site it has all the big ones. Even if you don't agree with things politically you will get a balanced view point. Great app and good widgets as well.

Is okay. The articles aren't tailored to my interests and I can't use the widget because the advertised articles are all in Spanish for some reason and changing the language settings does nothing. Overall the want anything I enjoyed about it but I guess I can see why someone might like it.

Been using this for years to keep up to date with all my gaming news but for the last few months only about 5 articles would load and in the past few weeks either nothing loads or 1 get article to load and it's old news by a few weeks. Not happy please fix.

Hey enjoy this app for the most part but I just noticed something that needs to be changed quickly. When browsing with a Bluetooth mouse, wherever the pointer hovers there is a pop-up that comes up and obscures other content. Please make this an option to turn off. Thank you!

I don't know what happened to this app but now you can't even open it anymore. I contacted the support,and they said they're no longer supporting it. I used to love this app but now I get a message "error no server response ". Please fix this app because it used to be the best app on t he store. Thank you.

Edit: (July 2018) The service is Discontinued unfortunately (DNS error), Will give the main app a chance, hopefully it can be customized to getting mostly gaming news as i have no interest in other news in the platform. Old Review: Im loving this app, my only gripe is that my saved articles arent shared amongst my devices... they dont seem to be linked to my account which its a bother since ive upgraded cell phones twice now and its like starting with a fresh account each time...

It works well if it works, this most recent update left both gamer and geek unable to load the top stories because of "Network DNS Error". Please fix this guys, I must know whats going on with the games industry.

Update: The widget is still horrible and for some reason they started sending me the news via mail, which is not my prefered way to browse games news and when I do want to read an article it opens in the app and says that the article can't be found. I've uninstalled the app and am currently looking for a more convenient news outlet. Update: I only use the app via the widget, which keeps getting worse. In the last month it only updated the top stories 2 or 3 times. If this doesn't change I'm out. Old review: Nice way to stay informed about games, hardware and the industry. Why did you take away the rollover widget? Bring it back and I'll take my rating back to 5 stars.

Again... Works fine for a while and then the dreaded "no connection" bug. Cmon guys. I love the app but this has been plaguing this app for quite a while now. When its fixed I will give you the much deserved 5 star.. But for now its a 1.

I like the news I get on here. How games I like are doing. But not much about new releases. Their are lots of new releases out there and I don't see to many articals on them. Would love to see even educated guesses on New releases. Even indi games. They have lots of stories on stuff like this but don't get much spotlight.. get on that pls.

*Update*: Sadly, I have to downgrade my 5 rating to 1 star now, since for at least a few weeks (I remember the last time working around E3 time 4 me), I also have been seeing DNS error. (original) What else can I say about it, lol. I've stumbled on this app through using their Appy Geek app on my Sony xperia p, right around E3 and have enjoyed it ever since! I'm an avid gamer and while I do a decent job following certain gaming sites and rss feeds; I still wanted to find an app that solely followed the gaming world. And this does just that! I love how it pulls gaming news from many sources around the Web and aggregates them into one place. In addition, it's cool to be able to sync across devices.
