Whenever you try to actually adjust something, it always does a loading screen and reverts what you changed. You gotta change real fast so the setting actually gets saved. Also every time you try to change something the first time in a day you get blocked from further changes until you click to rate this app, a 3 pop-up long chain of questions. Worst app ever. Not to mention the advertised Google home integration doesn't work and hasn't worked for over a year now.
the controller loses connection to the wifi. when it is reset, it has a chance to put the system into emergency heat mode. The only way to get the system back up and running is to reduce the temp back to below the current setpoint to eliminate emergency heat. Then you increment it slowly until it is back to the setpoint you want it to be. this happens at least 3 times within a month so far and I think this is tied to the application update that I did not approve of
This new app is less user friendly than the last one and since the updated, my stat won't keep time or remember the program. Not sure if the two are related but, I am seriously considering replacing it. It's too bad too. I really liked it prior to the update.
App is extremely easy to use and does what it should but my lord, give us a little customization. At least a dark mode. It's really really bright with no ability to change the color or brightness.
They installed this brand Thermostat with the new HVAC. I had a difficult time setting the app up and getting the Wi-Fi to work. Finally I got it set up and went to create a schedule, however when I try to change the time on the schedule the app crashes. So I guess I can just see what the temp is at on the Thermostat with the app. This makes it completely useless.
2 star for app, extra star for unexpectedly great customer service. Old version worked fine, and displayed the temp from the outdoor sensor on my heat pump. A super useful feature for me that went away with new version. New version throws errors almost every time I attempt to change temo. As soon as I updated, I could no longer connect to stat. Got a hold of Jim in service and he was amazing. Actually called me instead of other way around.
The updated app looks better but the interface is still completely different from the interface on the device itself. Outside temperature and humidity are not shown on the main screen. It took contacting the support to just find out how to switch the app to Celsius. While it knows (and shows in one place) that the device itself is set to Celsius, switching the app to Celsius is done in completely different place. 🙄
Functional, but a few annoyances - makes me log in again every few days - doesn't show all status, but does show key status. I'd like to see the emergency mode led. - not sure how to use with multiple house occupants. Good/N - simple - see from anywhere with internet, temperature, fan mode, heat cooling mode, outside temperature, humidity; and control temperature, fan mode, heat cooling mode. And fresh air - also able to view and control a bunch of features I don't have, like humidity
Does not work with Google. Constantly says "no device is connected to your account" when trying to login. I have the 8920w thermostat and nothing about it is smart. It's a basic thermostat with an lcd screen. The wifi only allows you to control the thermostat from your phone. But that's not a smart device.
Connection issues galore. Didn't have issues when first moved in in '20, but over the last 6 months or so, I get nothing but connection issues. Latest problem is asking me to setup the device again. I get as far as getting the thermostat connected to my wifi, but the app fails at that point telling me to retry. I've un-installed the app, cleared cache- still won't complete connection.
After having this thermostat for a year keeps having issues connection with my phone. I find my self deleting catch files and reinstalling the up way to many times. UPDATED REVIEW: After the new Updated version and renovated looked the app is working correctly and the easy to used. Clean air setting runs correctly and doesn't get stack. Now I can handle my unit when I am away from home with out resetting the thermostat.
They make this app worse with every update. And the app is the only way to control the thermostats. With the newest update you can no longer get to more than one thermostats. One just doesn't show without exiting the app and going back in. Please stop updating if all you are going to do is break more things each time. I hate having to use this app.
Trying to set this up with a Google Pixel 3a. I can find the The thermostat connect to it. But after it hands off the Wi-Fi connection data. It connects but It can never find the thermostat. Even after I found the Mac address and entered it in manually to the app. Horrible app. I'd suggest you buy a nest if you're looking for app functionality.
update 2022-01-09: they took the app from having an F in UX, and made it worse (inconsistent interface between my 3 thermostats) using this app is a constant struggle with the bad interface, the lack of consistency within itself and the Android ecosystem, and the fact that one often needs to close the app and re-open to get a simple temperature change to stick. This app is in a serious need for a redesign, and you're better off just using amazon/Alexa or google home as interfaces to your HVAC.
Not very functional at all. It connects when it wants to. The last week my thermostat has been showing not connected. Did a complete reinstall and re-added the device and it's still hit or miss. EDIT January 2022: Much better app with the overhaul. 2 stars to 4 stars.
App keeps telling me I can't change the temp or any mode. The thermostat is just as much garbage. If you haven't installed yours take it back and find a different brand.
Decent app but why on earth would you not have an automatic setting on the humidifier. You know the outdoor temp, you know the ideal setting, just automate the humidity. This is easy.
Finally works with Google Home and Alexa again, wasn't sure that would ever happen. Have had no problems with app since last update. Really like their thermostats since they work with both fresh air and humidification systems.
This app is a pile of junk! I typically have to force stop it and clear the cache just to make it work (and doesn’t always fix the problem), and now the company has been claiming to have server issues for over a week now. Complete waste of time.
The app stays running in the background even after you close it. To completely shut it off you have to force close. Lame.
its a good app but, I grew fond of the previous app. The scheduler gui was better imo. This new app also converted my schedule completely wrong. I had to do it over again.
Trash. Reverts changes. This app has more control than I do over the temp in my own home. Trash. Trash. Trash.
There are bugs with each upgrade but overall the system beats the remote problems. Latest version on Android doesn't let you set overrides using the clock because the system only accepts 15 min increments. So setting the overtime schedule to 115pm for instance errors out. You have to set it to 101pm for 115pm, 102pm for 130pm, etc... anything after x.03 on time errors out
Vast improvement from previous app, we'll done. Only complaint is when adjusting temps it is so quick to update it thinks I'm done adjusting up or down and the acknowledgement interrupts my input. Still, app works well, night and day difference from previous version. Glad you invested in your app development.
The developers should spend more time working out the kinks and glitches with this app. If my HVAC contractor had not ensured me that the app was better than it was rated, I would have chosen either a different brand or a simpler (no app) model. The near-constant crashes are should be an embarrassment to the brand and to the app developers.
they got rid of the tempature sensor inlay. I liked this app because of it! (Fixed)! It would be nice if it graphed when your unit operated, tracked indoor, and outdoor temperature during the day.
I can't change the schedule using the app, which is quite annoying. I had a Sensi thermostat before this and it even had an option to take care of the humidity. For reasons unknown, the new expensive furnace I bought required AprilAire. I want my Sensi back!
Very disappointed in this app. Did not review it before the thermostat was installed. Was expecting, like I have seen in most other remote control thermostats, to be able to access most of the functions on the thermostat. Unfortunately I am limited to just temp and humidity. Does not allows setting schedules, etc.
