It has worked well for me. I especially like it because it allows me to do APRS without the need for an external terminal node controller (TNC). I have been able to get it to work on both my Samsung phone and my hp Chromebook. I used an iRIG device plugged into the 3.5-mm audio jack to get the audio into and out of both of these devices. I am connecting to the data jack on the back of my Yaesu FT-818. radio. It did not work very well using audio coming from the microphone. 73

Pay the money to support this app. Amazing app for aprs, you can send messages to other users and through SMSGTE to cell users. Used it with HT radio with a tnc and just through internet both worked flawlessly.

Please continue to actually maintain this app or just open it for free to the community. I tried this on 2 phones and had the same problems. It starts with a warning that this is not optimized for the newest version of Android and crashes when you try and use the mapping feature. I have had to uninstall and reinstall this app several times to get it to continue to work with the AFSK connection to the radio. It will hear incoming data but not decode. Others have posted on this issue also.

I loved this app for well over a year but a few months ago the map stopped working and it crashes the program whenever I try to view the map. Only way I can view the map now is on aprs.fi which defeats having this app for viewing out of cell service range! Maybe it was an Android, T-Mobile, or Samsung S9 update, but it no longer works. Reinstalled phome, cleared caches, nothing helps. Would give a solid 5 and I've recommended the app to several who bought it. Fix it please!!

APRSDroid is by far the best APRS Android product that has been available and the price is right. However, there are still some features I would love to see such as the ability to search for a callsign. For instance start showing calls and the SSID available as part of a search. I don't really need the Hub view (this is great for TNC connections) doesn't do anything worthwhile on an iGate connection. The log is cool for troubleshooting as well. For those in need of a code, there are several ways to do so. Easiest is to go to a radio that has APRS capability and send the correct message and it will respond with the code. This is to ensure valid amateur radio licensees are using as some areas take iGate data and broadcast it over the air for the local area.

Have used this app for a few years now without an issue. Just upgraded to a new phone, Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ and now the map doesn't work. Every time I click on the map it crashes!! We need an update. Noticed a few others are having issues also!!

I've used the app in the past but getting it again on my Samsung J7 I can not get any audio into the decove to decode. it doesn't seem to recognise the mic line as plugged in. No problems with other apps and the mic. worked well on older Android phones. Also have it on RCA tablet but the RCA makes so much RFI it covers the signal at the radio.

Good app, depending upon your hardware and use. It didn't work for me as there is no option to use a serial TNC over USB. To those of you complaining about a password: the developer does not issue the passwords. There are automatically generated from your callsign. Do a simple web search for 'APRS password' and enter your callsign.

This app from the Google Play store does not work on newer phones such as the Note 10 Plus. To get the working version (but slightly unstable) you have to go to the developers website. It is at the bottom of the app description. Go to the download/builds folder and select the version with the newest date (2020).

The app seems to work well in a desktop, but opening the map in the app crashes the app. It is bothersome to see that the developer is detached from communicating with the contents. If you're working on a fix, please let us know.

The comments about waiting forever for a passcode are unfortunately true. Originally I thought it was due to foreign verification of licenses but I have a license from the US FCC and its easily verified based upon my PayPal payment's addresses and emails. I've waited much too long and will seek out an alternative. Sounded like a decent application but the support team is lacking.

Awesome app. Lets you do APRS with something as lowly as an inexpensive Chinese HT. Regarding getting a passcode: I used the documented option of importing my LOTW certificate. I was up and running within 5 minutes of paying for the app. Again, awesome app. I am going to have some fun with this! Update: And I got my APRS-IS passcode within 24 hours. Great app. Definitely worth the $5.

This app is awesome for APRS! It's easy to use, and very functional. I love having the graphical display of stations on the map. I would love to be able to ace objects but that's all that's missing!
