Please update the app to support more apks
I got one test run app to work and this particular was made just for conversion and then to be used on a chromebook. No other apps work. You can forget about downloading the archon runtime libraries as all of the ARM archives are corrupt/non-existent. I only give it five stars for concept, otherwise its worthless.
Wow. Got my favourite Android SW (MLO 2) running on Chromebook. I am subtracting 1 star since the whole process of installing the extension on the Chromebook is not totally straightforward. But once you read through the provided documentation and got it running, it really works! Fantastic!
Was a little confusing at first b/c i hadnt run across the helpful link in the details section...doh! lol but clicked around and got it to work. The only question I have is if there is a way to resize the window that the app runs in. Would love to be able to enlarge it to the size of my screen. but its still cool to be able to run the android app on my computer!
Sadly, no built in file browser. Freezes if it cant find an external app to use as a file browser, but doesnt seem to allow a confirmed selection.
Advanced features to have options like side loading Google Play Services or other items to increase Android => ChromeOS conversion.
For those who don't know ARC is still in beta and apps requiring what we call Google API's won't work as well (or at all)
The app opens and says Google play services is not up to date and closes I've tried every app on my phone and it still doesn't work
I got this message trying to load AndrOpenOffice: There were warnings when trying to install this extension: Unrecognized manifest key 'arc_metadata'. Help!
My grandfather needed Skype on his Chromebook. This app helped with the perfect fix. He's quite happy now.
If you can build an easier one {friendly user}
Can run android apps with ARChon extension. This app properly sets the manifest.json and has proper app icon compared to the chromeos-apk conversion utility or twerk for chrome.
But the ones that do work beautifully. I got Pandora, gStrings, and a few more apps to run. Facebook messenger doesn't work, but I think that is because of device issues.
Could not get created apk Update: it got uploaded after deleti g the app. Cant reproduce
Sadly WhatsApp doesn't work. If you happen to get it working do let me know. Other than that its really neat.
I wanted to run Paprika on my chromebook, as there is no web client for the recipe service. Using this app, and the related chrome extensions, it took about 10 minutes to get everything figured out and working. Pretty incredible. Many thanks, and great work!
Aap is great, just one thing is missing that can improve the experience of using android apps on PC and that is option to scale them till the full screen
The app is awesome.... But the option to load app from phone storage is not working. Please fix it.
Well then... This app won't create the ChromeApks Folder that it should in my phone for me to get the APK off of my Phone to put on Chrome... Tried many times with different apps and still won't work... Thought this app would ACTUALLY work... But guess now. If I could rate 0 stars I would.... Since this app WONT work.
it has an error when i used a downloaded apk online it shows i cant use the apk or any apk
Thank you I had been trying to use the chrome extension to install the app to no avail. This worked like a charm!
Not supporting few apps, but mostly satisfied with the success rate
clash of clans cannot run on my pc,. :(
Had it then uninstalled. Came back, tried again, and got outstanding results. This complements my Chromebook well, and it does what it says it's intended for.
This has let me port several apps to my computers without the need of emulating android for each task, speaking of each task this also allows the chromium ui to run multiple instances!!!
This is great but some app cant run on my pc 😭😩
Doesn't work on factory installed apps
I don't always pack Android APKs for use in Chrome OS, but when I do, I use ARChon Packager.
As soon as I selected the app I wanted to bring over, it crashed. Every. Single. Time.
