Arcus Weather

The map function has been buggy at best for a long time and for the past several months, it just has not worked at all. I used this app primarily for a weather radar as I'm out in the field quite a bit. I've had it since 2016, paid for the full version, and it worked well for a while but for the past 10ish months, it has not been worth it. I'm only writing the review because I just got sick of it, and I can't seem to get any support on why the maps don't work. I'm tired of checking the map function only for it to zoom in on a greyed out section of Africa and not do anything from there

It's been three years since this weather app was updated yet it still works perfectly except for notification isn't shown at status bar and the map feature is useless. However, the temperature is spot on and the forecast prediction is just right. If you could fix those glitches, it'd be much appreciated! Thank you

This is a huge tried and true classic for me. I keep trying out other weather apps and always end up returning to this one. It just can't be beat, it seems. The reasons for this: fully customizable widgets, accurate hour by hour weather, and a complete layout of relevant data which leads to the forecast.

Just today my Arcus started displaying ads that block the screen. The ads are in the foreground and weather is in the background. If I click the ad it wants to install another app. I can't get past the ad. Shoddy behavior! And no, it doesn't time out. Why even provide a free version if it can't be used?

Once it was accurate, and frequently updated. After years of accurate micro-casting, it got progressively bad. After paying for premium, I would have expected this to have been updated from time to time. I also expected that the developers would respond to emails, which they haven't despite several attempts. Google should set specific development requirements so that paid apps are updated continually, or the user gets reimbursed. UPDATE 1-14-21: App no longer works. You guys are crooks.

I have the enhanced version and I love it. No matter where I travel it gives me the real time weather. That is a great feature to have at your finger tips. Also it alerts me when precipation will occur and it will end.👍Why so long between updates? Is Arcus still active - or do you guys have any apps similar to this one?

This used to be a solid app, but the development team has seemingly dropped the ball on Android 8.0/8.1. Paid for the upgrades but the update interval setting doesn't work at all (tray temperature icon only updates when I manually open the app) and the weather map hasn't worked in months.

No longer accurate. It used to be pinpoint accurate on when it would start and stop raining. Now, it doesn't even have a functioning radar map and predictions are wildly out of scale to actual weather forecasts. I used to really love this app too, it's a shame it doesn't work anymore.

No longer supported. It once was the best weather app but updates ceased over 3 years ago and there is no response from the developer (even for paid users). The map function is completely inoperative and data is not as accurate as it once was. 👎

I would use this app, but the text contrast is terrible, both light and dark themes. Can hardly read it, light gray background, slightly darker gray text. If there's a way to adjust that, I'd really like to know. Otherwise, a no go for me.

Pretty nice but comparing this to the Dark Sky app the graphs and excess text are hard to read quickly. Takes too much effort. Also the map never worked for me at all. Not sure if that was a premium feature or what.

How the mighty have fallen... This was my go to weather app... unfortunately (as of the date this was written) there has not been a single update in years. Basic functions no longer work, the data is inaccurate. What a shame..

Great app! The widget is easily the most customizable I have seen, great to be able to tune exactly what I want to see at a glance. And the app UI is clean and fast, yet packs in plenty of detail. Nice work!

It used to be a great app, super accurate....it has become very unpredictable, which is the opposite of what you want in a weather app. It is no longer accurate. I've submitted 2 tickets through the app but received no response. It is not being supported anymore.

Update 11/21/19: Now getting a "Respone Error" on S10e. There have been many people including myself trying to get in touch with arcus to see why the app is not working properly. I'm going to try one maybe two times and then I'm going to dispute the charges on my credit card.

Exactly what I want from a weather app, including a nice, simple widget interface. I don't buy a large amount of apps, but this is one I bought the pro key for without blinking!

Won't update, it used to be okay about 5 or so yrs ago when I first started using this app but lately it's been 💩 it doesn't update. I've uninstalled & then re-installing it but it's still not doing anything it won't update!! I think seeing how I've tweeted the guy on Twitter & had no reply previously I'm just gonna uninstall it for the foreseeable until they sort it out properly cos it seems that the developers clearly don't care 😠😐😐

The app has become more and more inaccurate. The widget (which is my fav thing to use) does not stay up to date. It is supposed to refresh and rarely does so. Lately even when I click on the widget to bring me to the app it doesn't do anything.

Great weather app, but I cannot seem to get the notification to automatically update, even on the shortest data update schedule. I would love to not have to hit the refresh button.

The map section still does nothing. It is frozen. When opened it just has a faded or washed out world map. Nothing specific. The radar doesn't seem to work. still does not work

Maps don't work, and haven't worked in a long time. Paid version. Disappointed. Otherwise great app and accurate. But need that map working!

Map tab does Not respond at all anymore. When it did it just would show Atlantic Ocean and No Way to navigate anywhere else?? Now it doesn't even show the map. Email has not generated a response, and I have the paid version. Sad.
