Arduino Companion

PLEASE NOTE: the app is now updated to work on Android 4.4 (and newer) devices.
Arduino Companion is an app for designed to help anyone getting into Arduino and electronics. The app contains the full Arduino Reference for offline use, as well as a handy resistor calculator. The Reference contains all of the basic Arduino reference, but it also covers all the included classes for controlling Ethernet, Servos, Serial Communication, LCD Displays, SD cards, Keyboard and Mouse (Leonardo) and more. Now also covers Arduino Due.

Feel free to contact me to suggest features you feel is missing or if you find any bugs. Contact me using the About-page inside the app or the email listed below so I can fix the issue.

I originally gave this 2 stars because the font was too small on the S5. The dev sent me a message that said it was fixed so I downloaded it and it works well now. The only problem I have seen so far is that some links will end up bringing up the Arduino website. For example if I look up shiftOut() it has a link to the SPI library documentation. When I click it I expect the SPI documentation in the app to pop up but instead it takes me to the Arduino website. That is the only instance so far after playing with it for 10 minutes that I have seen. Not end of world sort of problem and it does take me to the correct webpage.

There are many Arduino apps out there that try to be helpful to newcomers to the Arduino, even Arduino.cc, and whilst this take information that is on that site, it words it such that this one is easily one of the better ones to understand. It lists useful information, keywords with brief descriptions & code, it isn't in depth, but suffices more than enough to gain good a good working knowledge in offline mode. Thank you :-)

I know it is difficult to write some sort of Arduino Bible. But do not forget important things like Timers, how to attach a timer, for example (the section attachinterrup is a bit away). I mean not using APIs, but direct register addresses.

If you have programmed Arduino earlier, this guide won't help you so much. Quite basic.

I am using it to read with no internet or it also will be nice as a quick reference guide... Thanks

Please, add more libraries from adafruit for example or other brand shields or give a way to add our own libraries - tkx

Great app easy to use. would be better by maybe putting some more Library, more etc. (would really like to see RTC in Library category)

Well Structured and highly readable than any other app available. Keep updating it with more content.

This is the one and only offline Arduino language reference, this app worth it's weigh in gold.

Font size update makes it a lot easier to read. Now if you can just make the title bar and the bottom menu bar either shrink or disappear in landscape mode that would make it really good.

As a beginner I found this app very useful and the best part is that it doesn't need access to personal files. Thanks Developer.

Even though it has a copy and paste feel from the online arduino reference, it's very well organized and makes looking stuff up a breeze. Fantastic for a free app!

gotta love that. when an app isn't looking back at you.

Perfect little app. No, it doesn't go into any extreme detail or really complex code, but as a starting reference, it's just right. Free with no ads. This is what apps should be! Thanks to the developer for his time and gift to the Arduino community.

Concise, Well-Organized, Informative, no nagging adds or permissions, and mostly offline. An excellent resource: gets right to the meat.

Hey Jens, I think it would be nice that you should add pin reference in to this app too.

A perfect reference tool for Arduino. Nice Job!

Does what it says it will.... Of course I think a fewe app should have reference for all languages, then id give it TEN STARS. But since it doesnt, Im really upset. (Some people have a lot of nerve) 1 star? Really?
