This app used to work fine on my phone however I recently turned it on and it just has a black screen I uninstalled and reinstalled it and it's still the same. There's no sound or indication that the app is running, it's just stuck on a black screen. Even when it did run the games were fair to bad because of being unfinished and very glitchy.
I opened up the box followed all the instructions and BLACK screen. It wasn't until I read a review that someone explained that you have to allow the app permissions for it to function. That detail would have been great to know and would surely save people from frustration. I haven't played the games yet but will follow up afterwards
The games are fun, only if you get past the black screen. Devs should fix it as soon as possible. I believe the problem was that it should be asking for permissions the time it was open. But the message doesn't pop up. The only work around for now is manually allowing permissions on the app from the phone's app settings.
For those having trouble, you have to manually enable permissions in app settings to get past the black screen. Then, you have to turn the toy on before booting the app, and then hold the trigger down for 3 seconds for it to work with mine. Decently fun game with a variety of modes, but the lack of reload button for my toy, and unclear instructions knocked down a star each.
I read the instructions but the instructions made no sense when I tried using it apparently you just have to leave Bluetooth on and you dont connect to it apparently. Then you have to download the app while you have the Bluetooth on and then it will connect. it works completely fine but the directions are really confusing and doesn't make much sense it doesn't tell you the app name and how to correctly use it maybe they should fix that for sure. Make clear directions
Black screen when open app. Wouldnt load. But when my friend tryed it the app opened perfectly fine. Together we found out the reason of why it didnt work for me the conclusion was that this app only works on iphones and sadly doesnt work on android phones.
the equipment that downloaded this app is garbage. Its the second one I bought and neither of them will pair between multiple phones. And the apps option to find and pair phones is useless ( wont find any available devices, even though there are 3 in same room). whole concept is neat, but trash execution. off to get my money back i go...
Horrible, garbage, disappointing. Downloaded multiple times but only opens to a black screen. Too bad their service team, assuming they have one, doesn't fix the issue since so many people are having the same issue.
At first my phone and sons had just a black screen when trying to play the app. I found that the app downloads with 3 permissions but non active. On allowing them the app worked and I have a delighted son. Lots of friends have had a go and love it. Some games better than others and only tried a handful since getting it to work .
Gave it the best effort but in the end couldnt get the blaster to pair :( Tried researching the problem, trying different button combos, and of course holding the trigger down for well over thr 3 seconds but all to no avail. I even took it apart hoping to find a loose connection or something...super disappointed and am glad I tried it out before sending it to my niece for Christmas....that would have been a sad girl on Christmas morning.
Wont fully connect to android. It will shoot but the rest of controlls wont function. Tried to re install and rebot app/phone numerous times. Bluetooth even says it wont connect to the game but it does show up in bluetooth list. Lives up to the hype (garbage) but thankfully only wasted 3.50 for it. Looked neat but oh well.
App does not work at all. I followed the instructions to the letter. Installed the app, switched on bt, opened the app and nothing. Just a black screen. Tried waiting forever, deleted app and started over, tried on another device, same thing, nothing but a black screen.
This was a total waste of time and money. Bought for my son but after downloading the app the screen is just black no sound no nothing. I thought it might have been his phone so I installed it on my phone and still nothing...uninstalled shortly after. Dont waste your money total rip off!!
The application even though ive enough space for it took foreeever to get a hold of. What bothered be is that the instructions didn't even refer to the right app. There's a bunch of other ones that dint even match the brand so i know its after market. Secondly and most annoying, the games can actually be addictive and fun but most of them lag sooooooo bad once you get into them. That IS NOT FUN AT ALL. If you guys can fix ALL of the bugs and keep support up for updates, many would be satisfied.
I was getting the black screen like everybody else in the reviews so I did what some people said about allowing permission from your settings it works but now my Bluetooth won't connect to the phone I tried it so many ways I've looked up the product itself and can't seem to connect it to my phone.. I have an android.
It connects and I can shoot but you have to move and aim with the screen. If I wanted to use the screen I would just play a regular shooting game. Game should pick up turns and motions like a VR would...
the controls don't work. you can shoot but in most of the games you can't aim as the joystick does nothing. makes no sense to have a shooting game where you can't actually aim at your target.
Functional to a certain extent. The included games could really use some in app instructions. Several of the games required touching the screen to move in the game and considering I downloaded this as part of a Sharper Image AR laser toy...it would make more sense if all the games worked from a fixed point in space, point and shoot... And that's my next problem the 360° idea is there but doesn't work that great. A lot of the games are you spinning around like a maniac to try and fight the game trying to reorient itself to what seems like behind you. Novelty...but poor execution. I hope I can find other apps that work with this Sharper Image blaster toy I have or I'm going to have to figure out some way of returning it.
