This worked for about 2 months for a class that required it and then just literally stopped working occasionally and then just entirely. i have never once been able to sign in since maybe a month or so ago and the location services is on, my internet is on, other people are able to use but others are also unable to use it. Honestly a horrible app that can't sign me in correctly even if I'm literally in the exact location of my class on Google maps.
Let me start by saying that I wish that I could rate below one star. When I was required to start using this app for my college classes, it was sort of ok, despite the terrifying ads for the premium version that make it look like my attendance wasn't counted. Now they've made it so every time you sign in you have to sit through an ad. What a waste. And on top of that it never works properly anyway, I always end up having to use the website, because the app crashes randomly and the location services don't work properly. Another review said below that ads have no place in higher education, and I agree with that. What in gods name makes an app that records location and a single button press worth 0.99 a month, we have people out here releasing entire unofficial firmware and rom updates for phones for absolutely free, and these a**h***s have the audacity to think their bloated, slow, garbage, ad ridden, location recording, GPS ignoring, 4G data wasting, dated looking, not connected servers havin', beg for money-ing, Android crashing, RAM wasting, battery destroying, wh**e of a service deserves to have a place in any classroom at all. I sincerely hope that ArkaiveInc fails spectacularly
Very predatory app and aggressive ads. First off, why does the app require location permissions? Is the code not just enough to check into class? Second, ads in this app are AGRESSIVE. You are bombarded with reminders to pay for "premium" in order to remove ads. You also have to pay "premium" in order to view your attendance???
This app is a hunk of garbage. I even paid for the premium but it tells me to get the paid version every time I enter! The attendance history is not working either. The app is unreliable and it's a waste of money because it keeps on telling you to upgrade and the premium features don't even work.
I used this to track attendance for my large (100-300) college classes. It used to be that students did not have to watch ads in order to check in. I was annoyed that students could not view their own attendance record without paying, but whatever. Would've given Arkaive 4 stars. Skip ahead to now, where students have to pay to do anything useful without being bombarded with ads. This is terrible. Students are already paying out the ass for higher ed costs, so stacking another buck or two on top of that is just mean. The only thing I can imagine is that the Arkaive folks saw the money skimming software from Office Space, and got the idea was that the students wouldn't notice the extra dollar slipping away after they'd already hemorrhaged their tuition for the semester. Highly recommend doing anything else.
The app is terrible. The adds are intrusive, especially when in the middle of class, and the attendance viewing service does not work even when you have a subscription. Do your students a favor and have them sign an attendance sheet instead.
It has been a terrible Experience! I have to use this app for class. I've only successfully used this app a handful of times before it quit being able to pick up my location at all. It marks me absent all the time!
Not only is this app amazing, but i can't say enough good things about the support staff behind it. This is our second semester using it in my student organization and we couldn't be more happy. The fact that the baseline model is free for both administrator and student makes this by far the best app for geolocation attendance. Any time I reach out, the support is there to help extremely quickly. The app has worked well for us with very few hiccups. We cannot recommend this enough!!!
This has to be the most poorly written app I've ever used. The check in feature just doesn't work. But, I'm held hostage to use it and either pay a monthly fee or watch loud, obnoxious ads before checking in....
why would you take up time for ads if this is an app to make sure you show up on time for class?? im not usually late but when i am, waiting for the app to finish its ads as the cutoff time gets closer and closer is the worst.
I was never able to use it and it counted me absent when I was in class. It will not let me cancel the app and customer service is ignoring my emails. I am stuck paying and not able to use it. I even cancelled it on my phone and got a memo saying I was still going to be charged. Very unhappy ☹️
Didn't work this morning and I ended up not being able to check into class. Also, the ads are unnecessarily intrusive whenever you attempt to use the app. What a disgrace, but I'm required to use it.
This app only has users because it's forced by professors. Asks you to upgrade at every screen and has the most intrusive fullscreen video autoplaying ads. No thanks.
Terrible geo location services, it says it doesn't have the permission to use the GPS even when it does. I have to step outside to check in. I never leave reviews but had to leave one for this app because of how bad it is.
ADS HAVE NO PLACE IN HIGHER EDUCATION!!! I should not be forced to watch an ad with a 30 second timer on it during class when im trying to check myself in for attendence. It should quote frankly be illegal for public schools to force me to use this app because somebody is making money off forcing me to use this against my will. It's a massive conflict of interest and should be boycotted altogether.
Required for one of my classes. Asks me to buy premium, I click no. Then it shows me a 15 second un-skippable add. I check in to my class. Asks me to buy premium again. Just add banner ads if you need the money but don't hold my attendance hostage until I watch an ad.
You can easily get around the GPS requirement for logging into a class, making it a completely ineffective way to clock in attendance.
Accessibility issue: the "Checked in" dialog box uses yellow text for its dismiss button which is completely unreadable against a white background.
Fantastic attendance tracking app! I almost gave up taking attendance until I found this app. It makes taking attendance pain free. If you are a professor try it you will be glad you did. Forewarning, your students may complain because they can't beat the system. Trust it, it works.
Wow, I am blown away by the capabilities of this application. Truly amazing how you press a button and it records attendance. There is definitely a large market for this type of application, and arkaive got to it first. Well done boys.
Works when it wants to but mostly the GPS is faulty. They are constantly monetizing basic features.
It does not read my locations even though my location is on. I tried to installed three times already. Great idea but suck technician.
The company has enough money to bribe the school to use it, but still needs to have pop-up video ads before you can even check into class...
Terrible, attempted to create an account but the app said that the email was already registered. However, password recovery says otherwise. This app sucks
This is an attendance app, WHY are there so many ads? I dont need to watch a final fantasy demo to check into my class. Absolutely greedy developers.
So many adds very intrusive and disruptive to class with video ads in a silent class trying to check in. Seems like a cash grab app with little to no ui development. SAD
Worst app ever made. Never lets me check into my course through the app, and half the time, the website won't even let me check in.
The app will not let me check in although it has access to my location! Do an update to make it work better for android users!!!

The app is really aggressive in trying to get you to pay for premium. Everytime you check in for attendance or navigate to another part of the app, that annoying pop-up always appears. So you're basically only paying to get rid of ads, since you can always check with your professor days you might have missed attendance. Ignoring the ads, the app has worked for me so far. Adding a class is easy, but the only questionable thing is that it requires location to be turned on to mark your attendance.
