I've had my arlo set up for 3-4 years now and it's had its up's and downs. The audio and video quality has always been great. Wifi signal is good. Installation and set up are very easy. My recent experience with customer service was good. The downside. The app has had its glitches in the past. BUT So far, after this past update things seem to have been sorted. Knock on wood. If the app holds up, I'll change my review to 5 star.

Does not load very well, the app doesn't work properly. I can't get onto the settings menu either to try and see if anything can be changed. This has been happening a lot recently, prior to this, the app worked fine with the ability to see more and access was fluent UPDATE: Almost exactly a month later, and everything I had written above has happened again. They had fixed it but it was evidentally not a sustainable repair. I can't use the app for anything, the camera doesn't load at all.

The app is okay but I cannot speak through the camera anymore and I need that feature. It keeps saying "connection failed. Tap here to retry" but it doesn't work. I also agree with other comments where I'm watching a video and it will random jump to another video from earlier that day or a whole different day. The live video also lag way longer than it should. Almost a whole minute. Update: the app is fixed. I am happy with the update. Thank you.

Can no longer view the library of stored videos. It's essentially useless now. And it's annoying getting ads popups every time I open the app and sometimes multiple times while in the app. I paid a lot for the cameras, I'd like to be able to see the videos and not get a ads as if I'm using free software. EDIT: I can view the library once again.

This app is infuriating. 1) After a period of time you may start to get notifications about alerts but not be able to view the preview. You have to log out and then log back in. There is no prompt; you just have to figure it out. I would keep seeing alerts about something that happened in the night but the preview would be of the day. 2) 9/10 times I open the app it shows an ad. If there were an emergency like a break in I'd have to see an ad before I can l view the video or preview!

Often won't load my system to turn it on and off (it just hangs on getting status) and I have to reboot the app multiple times to get access to the system. On top of it, it just dropped a camera off our system. No notification, no reason. The camera was just gone. Lucky I happened to notice it was missing. Get it together Arlo! This app is not user friendly. ETA: I'm not an idiot, I keep ALL my apps up to date. I work in computers. Your app is just garbage.

The quality of the video and audio is wonderful. However, the delay is very bad. I have a Ring installed at the same time as I was wanting to compare them and the Ring is much faster to pick up the video action. I had a bear come on my property last night and the Ring picked it up immediately . The Arlo did not pick it up until he was leaving. However, the Ring audio is not nearly as good as the Arlo.

Update: Problems continue. Constant pixilation and distortion. ARLO tried to tell me it was my internet. I upgraded twice at their recommendation. I've spent hundreds of dollars to try to make the cameras work. They don't. Constantly crashes upon loading as soon as I log in when accessing from a notification. 100% of the time...

Turn off the damn ads. It gets old pretty much every time I open the app you're pushing something. Stop it. Maybe focus on your camera detection being better so it's not always picking up shadows, small insects, wind, etc. The sensitivity settings are a joke as they go from catching everything to ignoring everything. What happened to Arlo? Your quality has been steadily going down hill to where I'm likely going to seek other vendors when it is time to upgrade.

Update is not working right. When you go to see video library, you pick a video to watch, it lags and takes forever, then when it finally loads, it switches on its own to the previous day or night. Really irritating, wastes alot of time just trying to see the videos for the current day. Get it fixed please!! Update 5/28/22..app is still doing the same thing. Time stamp is now 2 hrs later, tried to refresh, update, still not fixed!!

Works great for us. We set the range ,Motion,Vehicle, Animal,and person alerts. Also package. We bought a solar panel for it. And no monthly fees. I download videos and share them . Not sure why others have troubles I seen in reviews because it's been perfect for us. Oh , and no ads. Has a motion detected light. I can talk through it from my phone while I'm at work.

Could be coincidental, but since the last update the base station periodically goes off line. Have to reboot it to get it back, and that takes time also. The microphone does not connect, keeps asking to retry, but never connects. Videos do not load into the App. Keeps showing loading circle but never loads or takes very long time or it takes several attempts at closing and opening the App. I have S21 phone. I have good internet.

Arlo system was recommended due to a recent home invasion. Nothing wrong with home wifi. Running ORBi mesh x 3. Have signal and speed ! Connecting is SLOW. alarm sounds and we cant access the live feed for 60seconds or if ever! Also, paid a fortune for a system only to find out that its SLOW! And "doesn't require a subscription" but loses all the ability that I PAID for! Recent victims of home invasion. Will probably not be recommending, cant find a solution....

Worst app ever! It does not show me videos in my library, I can't answer when someone rings the doorbell because the app freezes. I keep getting a message that, 'Arlo' is working on it for the past 1 week! They do not have a customer service number. It worked until after the 3 months free trial; once I paid for the monthly video library service, it stopped working. Do not purchase the Arlo Essential Video Doorbell! It pricer than other doorbells with the least functionality.

App has a huge safety flaw. It automatically logs you out about every two weeks and never notifies you that you can't receive alerts. Tech support says this is a "feature" for the rare event that someone would steal your phone just to look at your cameras. Someone tried to break into my house and I wasn't alerted because this all important "safety feature" prevented me from getting notifications since the app signed out. There is no way to disable this dangerous feature.

Constantly prompts to re-logon (fingerprint). Why not stay logged in? Needs ability to disable for a period of time (an hour or two), not just disable until manually reenabled. When something is moving in front of the camera, needs to continue taping in a single unit - not generate a dozen 20 second clips covering a 5 to 10 minute period. Doorbell response extremely awkward if you're already near door: needs cancel option so it doesn't continue trying to "be helpful" after opening door!

Using a Pixel 6 Pro, Android 12, I no longer have the capability of viewing live video in full screen. If I click the full screen icon, the screen briefly attempts to rotate to full, then reverts back to minimized and stops showing the live feed. Also, if I close the app while viewing live video, the audio continues to play with the app closed. I have to log back in and play/stop each camera to stop the audio. Using the app has become such a buggy experience, I am now looking into alternatives.

These are great cameras but it's ridiculous that you have to pay for a service to even use them. If I had known this I would never have spent the extravagant amount. You can't even view what tripped the camera on the screen because the large "play" symbol is right in the center of the screen..when you press play to see what it is it disappears and turns the camera on live. I know what options are available without paying a monthly subscription and it makes them pretty much useless.

There's a significant lag between the doorbell ringing and the phone notification; if I try to connect and see (or talk to) who is at the door the picture turns into lego bricks. Frequently unable to log in to the app or view videos. Battery suddenly completely drains on the doorbell, didn't receive much help from support other than the advice to turn off everything that actually makes the doorbell useful. Wish I'd gone with Ring.

Connection with app and cameras is hit or miss. Occasionally all my cameras are listed as offline for no apparent reason, other times the feed fails to load entirely. Occasionally the app just randomly signs me out when I open it. Also the video feed is delayed by up to 6 seconds which makes live viewing of events next to impossible. My cameras all have strong signal so I don't understand why I'm having these problems. Ive heard no response from Arlo. Update: expect a 1.5-3 month battery life.

The cameras are great, however, the app needs to be redesigned to be more user friendly and obvious. It's very difficult to navigate. You have to search through too many different menus to find necessary settings. Orange prompts appear on camera menus indicating that something is off, but it's usually impossible to find the particular setting that's off, so the orange indicators are always on.

Garbage app. It will say "Connecting" forever when trying to view a live feed. Usually, the app closes itself the 1st time I try opening it. The app doesn't recognize that I've fully charged camera batteries until I remove the battery from camera and reinsert it. Sometimes it shows the notification with video and sometimes it doesn't. It has a lot of issues for such expensive equipment.
