Great game! Mix the pleasure of board game with the power of computer to have complex rules. You can play completely for free and unlock more characters with in game money acquired by playing. Good art and graphics, no lags at all. Profound for a mobile game. A lot of different strategy. Very good port from PC. If only we could have more quality game like this on mobile.
It's a very nice board-game, better than a lot of virtual or real games. There are cute and charming characters with their own specialities. A lot of different cards which bring replayability, so no boredom. The AI which is well calibrated and the multiplayer mode give another point of view for lonesome board players. I recommand for all ages.
I LOVED armello on console; the graphics were beautiful, combats were fun, overall the gameplay was phenomenal and immersive. The mobile version, however, crashes and glitches and lags WAY too much to be enjoyable. I'm glad it was free on mobile;if it wasn't it would be a rip off. The game is borderline unplayable, seeing how I haven't been able to finish a single game without it crashing and starting all over. Overall; disappointing and not at all the true armello experience (like on console)
I remember seeing this on Steam a few years ago and thought it looked amazing, a boardgame brought forward into the digital age. I'm so happy I got the chance to play it. For the most part I think it plays on Android very well. It is frustrating that you can only access the help screen from the main menu if you want to look something up (and you will), but overall the prologue does a good job of setting you up to play.
Caught a bug. When I was buying a hero in the shop my network was lagging and the process couldn't finish, so I canceled the procedure. Then I tried one more time later and it successfully bought a hero twice (2×2500) and now I am having negative number of coins. I am looking forward for fixing this bug as it is really hard to earn money there and I deeply love this game. Nickname: Blomur, if it can help. P.S. I have a screenshot, but I don't know where to send it :(
Possibly there's a good game in here but the tutorial is super long and I got bored just having to do what you're told for chapter after chapter. I didn't really get what the game was during that time as it also kept on getting you to play from different perspectives which was confusing in terms of who you were actually trying to get to win (except of course you didn't have any choice anyway!)
Update : My purchase problem was fixed. However the error occured, i have no idea. Somehow a second account was added to my email so I had to accounts with the same email and somehow I lost my purchases because of the fact that the email was in error. Now the air is fixed and I was contacted they helped me so I reiterate, I'm re-editing, and I'm fixing my review thank you for all of your help!
Loved all of it! The aesthetics, gameplay and world building. It's great you can win in four different ways, and the amount of strategies become endless considering the amount of character-item combinations. Just missing a built-in directory or chat, and probably the option log back into a game in case of lost connection. So far, AMAZING PIECE OF ART!
Great work! Except its lack of graphics customization options causing me to suffer from low fps even in lowest graphics settings. Besides, I think the time waiting for the King's speeches and increasing Rot everyturn is quite annoying. As I prefer to play without sound for better concentration. I also hope the dev would add extended match. I really want to see my heroes fully grow with the best equipments and recruits.
The game is sometimes laggy and while playing multiplayer, sometimes the game will reach an unplayable state with turns not continuing and players not able to take any actions other than chat options. The game recently has been giving network connection errors just before multiplayer games would end. This is really frustrating because it's a waste of my time to play a whole game and not get any rewards. Also, my last review was deleted, but not by me. Please fix and update the game. Thank you.
Great board/strategy game. No p2w and newcomer friendly. The matchmaking takes about 6 min on average, the gameplay is good. Edit: I see some comments about how it's so hard to find a match, that's untrue. I came back to the game and I can find matches around the same time as before (average, sometimes it's just 2 min and sometimes 15, it's worth it) Also new device, stronger, and I don't have the game abondoning issues. Kinda weird since it doesn't have anything to do with it...
I could spend hours playing this game and I'll definitely be editing once I plug in more games. I don't know if the Devs are still active here or if they plan on tweaking the game at all but there are three things they could definition fix-up. 1.) The dice are too light, they don't feel like they have enough weight/gravity. 2.) Multiplayer games tend to kick players. I personally haven't gotten kicked yet, but my friend does consistently. 3.) Player flags are VERY difficult to see. Keep it up!
Armello is a pretty darn good digital board game. However, I do have some qualms with it. First, a small one, is that when you change any settings in the options screen, your changes are NOT saved once you close the app. This is likely an error or oversight that could be easily corrected. Now the most major issue is the pricing. More characters with different abilities, stats, and playstyles but for a hefty premium. This premium price isn't worth it with the small mobile PvP players.
It's a really great game but the only thing hindering the gameplay is the timer. I like the idea for the timer but I feel it is too short and sometimes due to the game animations, it can lead to disappointing outcomes where you run out of time to do actions. I understand that this may be the one of the developers vision but I feel it is too short and leads to frustrating and not fruitful outcomes. Imagine sorting through 6 cards in 3 measly seconds, figuring out what to play. Simply too short. Other than that, am really pleased with this game and hope to see it grow
PROS: It has a small learning curve, but it is pretty fun once you get it. After the prologue it's simple yet very fun. CONS: Wish there was a friends system of some sort. It's hard to find multiplayer matches sometimes, and despite the limited communication, there are some people you grow fond of even in a single game, and you wish you could find and play with them again. SUGGESTIONS: Having friends would give the players a much greater incentive to play, and purchase DLC.
If there was an option for 3.5, I'd give it. The first match was great! Good graphics, sound is good, very easy to follow mechanics. Match 3, it is getting stale already. The occurrences are predictable, and the board is the same (even the 'Summer' board) and the King behaves the same. I guess it makes sense that it could be like Monopoly with the same group of friends so you know the patterns, but it does not keep me playing after a few games. I am writing a review because I sense potential.
It's very clever, combining elements of the familiar in a new and unique way. The premise is amusing in a dark sort of way, the graphics create a lot of atmosphere, and with multiple character roles to chose from and several ways to win, the gameplay remains varied. Much of the game is left to chance and elements outside your control (read: being sabotaged by other players), so a big part of the strategy is adapting on the fly and looking for the most advantageous moves in the unexpected situation you find yourself in. Thoroughly enjoyable!
A PHENOMENAL game! Beautiful graphics, rich, moving story, lots of extras. No ptw, play at your own pace. Highly replayable, and fun for all levels of challengers in its customizable game modes. For those who were complaining about the timers, just turn off fury mode, and you can choose to turn timers off, if you'd like. Would recommend this game to anyone who likes strategy, board, or novel games. Incredibly well developed. I'm very impressed by the level of content. Bravo to the designers.
I've been playing this game since Early Access on Steam, and I'm not disappointed in the mobile adaptation. A decent number of starting characters for free, another one essentially given to you for completing the prologue, and due to the immense strategic possibilities it's not pay-to-win in any way. Surprisingly not that much of a battery drain either. So glad I can play this on the go. The only (very slight) gripe ai have is that sometimes the 'End Turn' button is a bit hard to work. Nothing at all is lost from what is one of the best tactical games you'll ever play. Cannot recommend enough.
I was looking for a game like this one for quite some time. Asymetric gameplay, engaging story and beautiful art. The RPG and conflict aspects are well thought and balanced. The artwork is beautiful. Quite a lot of work went into this and it shows. Hope to try it out with friends in the near future. Edit: Since last update there seems to be quite a lot of crashes. I hope these will get resolved rapidly by developpers.
Ok I've been playing this game for a few days and my opinion is that it has so much potential! The game is very good and the story is amazing. That being said there is still room for development. 1) Make HD graphics. 2) Fix the zoom, it gets too foggy when you try to zoom out a bit more. 3) On multiplayer, you should give us a little bit more time on rounds. 4) Sometimes is a bit difficult to sacrifice a card during fight. I open to check that this is the one I want to sacrifice and then it doesn't do it immediately. 5) I think that each extremely difficult to do the "Rot victory" the king has way too much rot when you finally get some yourself. Overall the game is solid and I'll continue playing gj guys I have to mention that each game takes too long
The game is a blast to play. and you can get pretty much everything by grinding your way through, though randomness can lead to a few turns of waiting for something useful in game. one big problem to me are the multiplayer queue times, they can take ages just to find one or two people, maybe a sort of crossplay mechanic between devices could help? though that is a bit of a stretch.
A good game. However, quite a big chunk of content is missing compared to the PC version (like some rings), it doesnt benefit from the progression system of the 2.0 update, and some challenges seem bugged (like the rot victory one) Still, a game of a really good quality
