ARN e-newspaper

The Abilene Reporter-News electronic newspaper lets you read the Abilene Reporter News on your Android device just as it appears in print. You can flip through pages and skim headlines as you would in the printed edition. Better than that, the ARN electronic newspaper allows you to enlarge type with the tap of a finger, or jump instantly to the conclusion of a story on another page. You can link to websites mentioned in stories with a single touch, or send an e-mail to an address linked from the newspaper. If you missed the paper one day, don't worry. The ARN electronic newspapers lets you download past editions, too. An active subscription is required to view the app.

Only loads about 2/3 of the time. It seems to freeze up. Very disappointing.

Was told I need a subscription for the app but none needed for online mobile. Ridiculous!

Easy to use

This new version is miles better than the previous version. It presents a PDF-like image of a newspaper page on the left and a table of contents on the right. When you tap an article on the left, the app displays the article in a much easier to read format in the right half. (I use the app on my tablet in landscape orientation) There are buttons that allow navigation through the pages, reconfiguration of the pages and also allow you to view previous editions for the last several weeks. Because I live near Atlanta Ga, and my local newspaper uses the same app, it is very familiar. My mother lives in Abilene and I keep up with the local news this way. Thank you ARN for this updated version. It appears that you will need a subscription to at least the e-edition to use this version.
