Arriva UK Bus App
Since launching in late 2013, the app has been downloaded over 750,000 times across all platforms and is being used by Arriva customers on a daily basis. When things are unfortunately not running to plan, customers are using the app to know when and how we can still get you to your destination. You can also use it to find out which day saver pass you require for your journey and even purchase it as a mobile ticket, or simply contact us using your preferred method.

App Features
1. Trip PlannerThis will help you plan how to get from A to B. It can detect where you are and plan from there, or you can tell it where you want your journey to begin. It will work from postcodes, bus stop name, or place names.
2. Live MapThis will default to your current location, but you can set it to show any starting point, and it will show you a map of your route with the buses actually moving along the route.
3. Bus TimesIt will either use your current location or you can input a different bus stop to start from, and it will tell you the time of the next busses buses from that bus stop.
4. m-ticketsThis will link you through to the Arriva m-ticket app, which will enable you to buy tickets on your mobile phone.

The app runs very poorly. The main feature, showing the nearest bus stop information on the main screen, only works half the time; often requiring multiple restarts of the app to correct itself. When clicking on a stop for further details, the app often stops working. It is infuriating to use. Especially when pushed for time trying to figure out when my work bus is coming. Even though it's less accurate, you're better off using Google maps.
Take the term "real-time information" with a pinch of salt. It's at least 1.5 mins out of step. Freezes when you try to plan a journey with stops other than your default choices. Confirms that buses leave earlier than timetabled. No feedback button in the app itself. Annoying having two separate apps - should all be in one app. Nearly there, but not quite.
Not had an update since July 2018, and it shows. The app is a buggy mess. Buses don't load on the live map, bus stops don't tell you when the next bus is, and when you click on a bus to see its schedule, 2 or 3 times it will return a "server error" before actually loading the details. When it works, it's great, but if I didn't have to rely on it to get to work, I'd have uninstalled it ages ago. Needs an update to fix all the issues very soon. Edit: Downgraded to 1 star. It's beyond useless.
Used to be so useful, you could see where your bus was and how long till it reached you, but lately it's being very buggy. Almost all the time, it's saying there are no services nearby, despite the fact that I'm stood in a very busy area for buses. Also when you're at a stop with multiple bus stops within a small area, the app can be inaccurate with where you are, the app also says there are a lot of 'server errors', nearly every day, in fact and it can be quite frustrating.
Overall it does what it says on the can. But it doesn't inform you of cancellations, or extreme lateness before the bus leaves the starting point. Constant gateway errors , server not found etc... Added to the fact that the journey planner fails to give any realistic options on routes, and telling you that you have to change when you don't.... pretty poor on the whole
Very unreliable, very rarely loads bus times, rarely finds bus stops that I'm stood right next to, always says there's no services in my area. Live map sometimes works. This app is in major need of an update as it hasn't been updated for over a year and is full of bugs and no doubt some security issues. They need to take a look at the Transdev Go app, that's how to do it properly
It works ok mostly. My main issue is that it doesn't let me enter a destination unless it's a postcode. This is really frustrating as I have to search where I'm going to find the postcode which takes time and is annoying. An older version even let me put in an address but for ages it hasn't let me. Either it's broken and they haven't bothered to fix it or they for some strange reason left out that feature in the new version.
one of the better apps out there. easy to use, i find the map a bit addictive. if i had to nit pick, one or two of the bus stops that i use are not on the map, but times are close to the next stop. all in all an excellent ap Having , now used the ap for some time. The colour scheme on the map could be improved. A grey background with white roads, makes it hard to see at times. Could the roads be red in colour, it would improve the map quite considerably.
Not easy to navigate and a majority of the time it refuses to work, when you try to find out when the buses will be coming it just keeps coming up with a message saying "internal server error". Also doesn't help that the buses don't seem to run the same one day to the next, and they also cancel buses but keep those routes still running on the app. Great for people who use the bus to commute to work. Either have to arrive nearly 2 hours early or be late.
Constant app crashes and freezes, almost impossible to use due to the frequency of them. Bit like the bus service though works when it can be ar$ed, or sometimes doesn't work/turn up at all. CGI error 98% of the time. Should be updated so that if the bus hasn't turned up you can log a complaint esp when it says the bus is Infront of the bus station for 10mins after it hasn't turned up!!!! Would give 0 stars like a lot of the drivers would be, but 1 is the lowest/sh1ttest I could leave
The app is just not very functional or reliable. Sometimes the live map works sometimes it doesn't. There's a delay when it does. Also the journey planner is not great either. You can't type in the area you want to go to, you must know what the bus app has called your stop. When the app says the bus is late this is sometimes not true hence the unreliability. Good to get bus times though.
Great app and really easy to use would be nice if the tickets app was integrated or more easily accessible, the problem with the ticket app is that it only shows up on your phone as "browser". So when looking for it via task manager you can easily miss it. An improvement to the layout to make things a bit easier to understand would really help.
Does the basic minimal requirement for a bus app, but poorly at that. The live map barely works unless there's only a few buses in the area, and the bus times tend to be inaccurate (Bus times were listed for today, for example, but I was informed that there are no buses running at all, and i had already wasted money by getting an E-ticket and activating it). I have to keep using the app since it helps with the one bus I have to take, but I wish it was just better. Same with the website.
Its a good app and very convenient. However, there is some problems that come along with it. When going onto the Journey planner the whole page freezes. It only seems to be that particular page too. Its annoying when you need to find the specific times yet it won't work.
Just changed to new app. Everything is working well. 2 things that may want looking at ( but maybe depends on type of phone being used?) 1.. when looking at journey i cant seen the number bus to use as the departure time covers it completly. 2. When trying to select a specific dept/ arrival time, the minutes go off the side of my screen and cant be seen/used. Otherwise no problems.
The app sparsely works, getting the server to connect is hard enough. And even when you do, it's so inaccurate it's not worth using. Buses will be on the 'live' timetable and never turn up, so you're left waiting for one bus thinking it'll be there any minute, when it's quicker to walk 50 minutes to work. A joke in every aspect. Just use Google maps.
The app is terrible. most the time you can't see all no.s of buses on the live map. the tickets are totally unreliable. No data no connection when you do have. drivers treat you like your lying although they must be well aware of the problem. having to pay cash in the end anyway. needs a total overall. better still scrap it and start over.
Was quite a good reliable app until they did an upgrade this year. I am no longer able to use the live map and the update is not compatible with my phone. I am still able to see estimated time a bus is due at the bus stop where I am waiting. E tickets are a no no. Arriva please note we do not renew our mobiles every year just to use your upgrades. My mobile is 4 years old.
Often doesn't work. Sometimes buses don't appear on tracker until they're at my stop, by which point it's too late to leave the house. Or they don't appear on the tracker at all so you end up waiting at the stop for ages just in case, and the scheduled bus doesn't turn up. No update function to say if a bus has broken down. Buses occasionally appear than disappear on the map, so you're not sure if you're waiting pointlessly. The link that takes you to "live chat" never seems to be available.
The app would be so much better if it would actually work all the time... when I try to use it on multiple occasions I'm receiving either ' error messages/ server not found ' or ' no bus services available near you ' ( when I'm on the bus stop). I have good internet connection so this is definitely not the reason for these issues. When the app works is great as it tells me accurately when the bus will be. I just wish it would work all the time without the need for me to keep closing and reopen
