Lags a lot. MS has known about this issue for many years and has been remiss to do anything about it. The launcher ruins the otherwise fluid animations and movement between apps that you get when using stock Android. Whenever I swipe up to go home or swipe and hold to see open apps, the launcher lags and sometimes glitches. This is more evident when swiping up to go home on one of the home screens (left or right of the main home screen). It gets caught up and thinks I want to see all open apps.
My phone crashed. I inadvertently restored it to the standard launcher. That's when I realized how Great Microsoft Launcher really is. I instantly missed all of the Personalizations I had setup like groups, icon shapes, sizes, colors, pages, navigation, etc. Once you try it, you can't go back!
Everything is great except the search experience in app drawer which needs a lot of improvement. Rather than instantaneously filtering the installed apps based on search string, it tries to search the terms on web first which makes the app search sluggish. If you don't often use the search feature in app drawer (if you don't have hundreds of apps installed like me), then this launcher is otherwise really great.
Lot of redundant apps, Start, Bing... The Feed section is not very customizable and the integration with widgets is not as good as expected, weird borders, almost zero responsive... I really like the general look and I find interesting to have some features to access files and other Microsoft apps directly from the launcher and/or feed. Needs to get improved (or maybe it's just because of my phone) but, anyway, it should be compatible with all Android smartphones...
Not bad. It has motion which I felt like other launchers lacked. In fact, I love it. My home layout has stayed the same, but with more advanced functions. I love how it has taken of the littlest accessibility of Android and is useful. Five out of five. Recommended for any user to install it if he/she wants wants more control over the layout of their Android.
This is so much better than my normal home screen! The only thing is, it sometimes crashes and loses all open apps, losing unsaved data. However, that is rare, so, this is definitely 5 stars! Ad-free with a special organising screen with tasks, notes, and files. Thank you Microsoft, you have made my life so much easier.
Unlike the pre-installed HiOS, this has no annoying adverts clogging up my menus and homescreen, so that's a plus! The calendar widgit doesn't seem to work correctly, however. Aesthetically, this is the most pleasing launcher I've found, and since I use Microsoft at home and work, the syncing between devices is nice for both entertainment and productivity.
A missed opportunity. For me being able to see my upcoming appointments is vital. The tile for that just has a huge calendar icon and doesn't use the space to show you what's coming up. It just wants to focus on today. It even just says "1 all day event" rather than telling you what the event is. They even waste space by putting my own photo and saying "good afternoon" at the top. Pointless content - I don't need to see my own face of to be wished good afternoon - it's a a waste of screen space.
I have really enjoyed this app for several years. Sadly it is now unusable. Certain key features have been breaking for a number of months now. The worst has been the breaking app switcher which makes Android all but unusable until the phone is rebooted. After switching back to the Pixel launcher, the problem is gone. I'd be willing to try this again if it is ever fixed and Microsoft can commit to better support.
Has gotten steadily worse since I first got it years ago. It's hands-down the most elegant, but things keep going missing like full-transparent drawer/icon-group backgrounds, the ability to rename icon-groups blank so there's no "untitled folder" and now when you open a group it goes into a full screen view (even if there are only two apps in there) with no way to change this. I'm going to look for older versions of the APK online. It's going to be a slog trying to find the right date though.
My rating is just so that the Dev team can see this concern. I've been been using this launcher since the beginning and it's the best laucher ever!! My only issue is with the removal of page management features. - Ability to add calendar widget page and/or frequently used apps page. - Ability to edit or manage any of these pages. I haven't been able to replicate my current layout with above mentioned pages from scratch without restoring from old backups. Please restore this feature.
It's good, but there are some graphical hiccups that aren't getting attention. When you try to swipe across screens too quickly, for example, you get a weird glitching and then it returns to the previous screen. You have to swipe, wait, swipe again to change screens. Basic stuff that shouldn't be present in a production stable release.
So far this app is sufficient. I would LOVE to have more options for the glance/news screens. I would prefer placing certain widgets next to one another... arrangement options need to be more like basic UI icon/widget. For news it would be nice to be able to choose interests through a much more detailed list or we give keywords to watch for. If I think of anything else I'll update this.
Love this app. It transforms my whole phone, my Android from something alright into something WOW. It supercharges its usefulness and appearance. From the beautiful screen backgrounds, to the convenient large date and time on the home/wake screen, the super convenient way of scrolling through all my installed apps, the tie-ins to reminders and to do list. I also have my Android synced with my Windows pc through "Link to windows" on Android and "Phone link" in Windows 10....double awesome.
Love this one. i thought my one plus 6T life ended..one plus launcher is frequently crashing so apps are closing automatically when using. I suffered long months and found issue on the launcher, but the OnePlus customer care said the phone update support was ended, so I tried formatting and downgraded to lower versions.. but the problem still the same.. Atlast I found this one which is better than one plus. It expanded the phone life time. One plus can't make my phone work, but the microsoft can❤
The user experience is quite close to what one can expect from Microsoft. I find it quite clean and easy to use. If you are used to Windows and Microsoft products, then you will love it. It just need some adjustments and declutering, but overall great way to integrate Android with the Windows interface. Keep the good work!
Update: the animation is really slow and laggy. Almost unusable as a launcher until that is improved. Original: One of the best launcher out there! Bing wallpaper is a plus. One minor improvement is that the app and folder name text could use some shadow to make it more dintinguishable from the wallpaper.
Typically a great app that I've used for years, but recently it's become really bad. Widgets don't update, there's graphical glitches when rapidly going between home screen pages, it's laggy even on my S22 Ultra, etc... I hope this is just some issue that needs to be worked out with the newest version on Android, I will come back once they make some fixes, but until then I switched back to Nova launcher and I'm amazed at how smooth everything is, and should have been on the Microsoft launcher
Great app, but so far I have been struggling with it on my galaxy z fold. Once I open to tablet mode. The icons remains large when I close my phone making the phone unusable. Only way to fix this is to reboot the phone or and quickly close the phone. Been using this app for a long across many phones but now I'm thinking of uninstalling it if the bug is not fixed.
Some decent options, but some do not function in a way that makes them useful. For example, the To-Do card does not allow you to sort task by due date. The most recent tasks added are shown on top, hiding existing tasks that may be due soon. The point of the Glance should be to show you urgent items. The Samsung UI, which I used to dislike, is actually much better these days in terms of functionality (I just got an S22 Ultra). MS Launcher is losing its appeal for me.
One of the best launchers out there, especially for work but needs improvements in compatibility issues especially with Google maps. When the app is active and minimized in a corner or anywhere on the screen. The homescreen simply freezes and needs a few seconds to reactivate. It is a constant error.
If you don't really know what you're doing it can be confusing and very very technical there's a lot going on in this launcher has taken me this long to just look at all the settings and stuff. The features are great and I'm going to keep the launcher but it's a lot too. If I could add anything, it would be, adding a little more to the tutorial. Maybe some kind of, if a person doesn't understand or needs some help with set up or any other advanced feature, there would be a button for it. gj devs
Probably, the only issue I have with the Launcher is the To-Do list on the left menu. The tasks won't sync, although it says they do. When I create a task on my desktop, my phone's Launcher doesn't have the task on display, which is quite disappointing, as the feature itself is very useful.
The user interface provided by Microsoft launcher is really good and pleasing. Though sometimes whenever I open my phone the launcher does not activate and reverts itself back to default Mobile interface, though it's not a frequent issue. If this issue is solved will definitely rate 5 stars.
Overall perfect. Recent update seems to have introduced a bug where the spacing between the last and first home screens is not enough (there's an obvious overlap of around 30 or so pixels) when wraparound is enabled. Search suggestions seem to not work half the time either since the last update.
I really appreciate the app it's perfect the power to connect, fluid animation, easy to navigate and the shortcut's for note and to do is amazing[MS Note and To do doesn't work on my phone so i appreciate to use this and sync on my computer] but i have one concern the MS app itself keep showing in my recent drawer so i need to remove it and the whole launcher will restart but the data remain hope you can fix that👍
The concept is pretty awesome and, unfortunately, I haven't found anything that compares. Sending text can be slow. Google SMS from the computer to phone is way better. I'm ready to remove the app because it changes my call from my headset to the computer audio without warning and no setting. I want to see more details on call history. I want it would turn phone apps to desktop applets with their own windows. I wish I could connect with USB or Bluetooth. Notification handling is really good.
