A great companion app for making your own game after you've finished reading the book and getting inspired. Just a small technical bug that, the app isn't updated for Android 10 so I always get the message 'This app isn't supported...' otherwise, a handy app for all game developers!
GameDesigners should all have it! To reflect, deconstruct, evaluate even meta-level gameless self-interrogation - cognitive flexibility training. Each card carries crucial questions on widest possible range of GD topics. Being able to answer, or to research to be able to answer ALL, should be the groundwork for every project initiated. No subliminal avoidances, no catarract for flaws and non-reflective haste.
Great app. Using this to remind me of different things in making games. The inly problem I see is a bit of lag. This is most prominent when scrolling.
The is amazing. I really love the book. This app really helps me with viewing my game from the different perspectives.
Awesome free resource, however it seems very badly optimized - scrolling down lists is super laggy.
It would be nice, if I could write notes and/or answers to each lens.
Great app and i really love the book. An app must have for every game developer :)
Informative, creative and outstandingly useful app
Very useful app in desperate need of an update
Love This Game 😺 But I Recommend That User Can Build Their Own Card Lens!
Too old, needs a refreshing update
I downloaded the app.. based on the other reviews. I will post another after app use.
App should be update for new devices
Please update this app.
Best thing ever
Fantastic app. The only issue is the lack of a sound toggle. Using the app using earbuds (whilst listening to something else) is actually painful.
It's a great app the only problem I have with it are the spelling errors. example lens #100 instead of "ask" you put in "as" which is not correct.
A great app if you're into game making/design. It ties the knot really well with the book and the two completes each other. I recommend it!
It works but the interface is very dated and ugly. It feels like a android 2.0 app. It would be nice to have a modern flat interface that is fast loading.
One of my all time favorite apps! And now when I'm in the menu I can even turn the sound off using my phone volume....this is acceptable because the loud sounds were driving me crazy! Thanks for listening to my feedback. This is now an awesome app again!
Professor Schell is a genius, I even got to meet the guy and he's always been super helpful I love these lenses and I use them a lot even for non game designs. Anything that is trying to create an experience should go through these awesome lenses.
Laggy and eat too much resource
The sounds are a bit distracting and unnecessary. But the content is fantastic for anyone who wants to go into game design.
The list of lenses is great thanks for sharing but it would be much more enjoyable with the ability to at least disable the audio.
Not that anything was wrong with first one, but now that the cards coincide with the latest edition of the book, I can use them for a better work flow. Keep up the good work!
Really like this app would be cool if I could share lenses by a link or share button
A great companion to the book.
To the moron that rated 1* under the pretense that it is "just tips"... What did you expect? You want Mr Schell to design your games FOR you? You know, I am sure he would be glad to, for the low low fee of $70k+ per year. You know. A game designer's salary. If this designed games FOR you, it would not have enough substance for you to continue on your own. What do you think books are for? Learning. Not doing your work for you. Not to mention these "just tips" are FREE. Ungrateful jerk. Nice app, by the way.
I like this app, but I really wish I could add personal notes for each card. This would be a huge help when using this to remind you how you perceived each lens.
Desperately needs to be updated for newer devices. Do not download until it gets the update. There is so much lag when scrolling, the whole app feels jittery and gives me a headache. Not built for long-term use. Again - needs to be updated; however, seeing as the last update was in what? 2016? I find it hard to hope for a future update. It really is disappointing.
