On first look this looks like a decent app. Still, there is a very limited menu, one of the most constraining from the similar apps I have tried. The controls are also extremely limited and will satisfy you only if you are used to never interact with the text read. And the worst is the lack of filtering done to the page, hence the app will happily read though the menus of the webpage. Combined with the limited controls, the app is barely usable.

In recent months, news feed from Google News is more and more locked behind paywalls. Sure, some sites can be unlocked by tediously pasting into incognito Chrome. This app however is much more effective at quickly unlocking news articles. Of the hundreds of unlocked articles, I've only experienced one failure. Another benefit is the removal of animated ads. Thank you very much for this awesome free app!

A good, light-weight app that works well. I used it in the past a few times on a tablet and was pleased with the results; couldn't use it on my mobile as it was too old and the app not compatible. But now, with a new mobile, the app is up and running and working well. Still getting used to it, but one thing I'd like is to be able to save PDF files to the SD card. At present, it only allows PDFs to be saved as uploaded documents to Gdrive. Hope this feature will be included in a future update.

I wanted to try this app because I didn't want to pay to unlock Pocket's highlighting limit. It seems like an app I would use except for what seems like should be a minor issue: the color of the highlights is just too bright. If you look at Pocket's highlight color, is a lot more subdued and pleasant on the eyes. If this is the one change that was made, I would move to Article Reader Offline in a heartbeat. As it stands, I'll keep the app installed while I await further updates, but in the meantime my preference is to put up with Pocket's limit, for now.

This app is fantastic! It has everything I need to download and read articles later when I'm offline. I particularly love the minimalist design, and the option to sort the articles into folders. I love the customizable layout as well. Overall it's just a fantastic app that I highly reccommend to anyone and everyone; it even downloads images from the articles!

I can't believe that such a useful app with so much potential doesn't do the most important thing: Find/OPEN previously saved files. I have tons of categorised saved web addresses that i collected from different devices. The app i like the most (this one) can't open them up. Can't even find them. Extremely frustrating. Spent so much time with no success. 😟

i am facing just a little issue. when saving an article from medium daily digest on my email , sometimes it saves the homepage instead of the article. even if it saves the articles correctly , sometimes it turns some of them into the home page article. medium links do not expire .please...PLEASE fix this issue. Also can you add the functionality to add custom font files ? I really love the app . Thank you for it😁

This is a very useful app, I can use it straight away to read articles without annoying and distracting ads or I can save articles (into folders) to read later. I can share and export a list of all the articles in the library to any other app or download articles directly to my device. The format is also customisable with different colour backgrounds and fonts. Very well thought out and easy to use app.

This is just the app I been looking for to read webnovels on. Its easy to use with another browser. But my favorite feature is the AMOLED black dark mode. All these other reader only have gray or dark gray. My only complaint is that I wish there was more customization option such as line spacing, margins size, and of course more font options. An option to display font size in pixels instead of percentage would be nice. But still this is pretty much the best reader in the play store.

Pros: Downloads articles with ease. The articles can be ready offline. Holds multiple articles in it's reader page. Option to have voice reader. User can select the voice reading speed. It's a free app. No ads. Cons Occasionally unable to capture an article. No voice reader style choice. User cannot choose a particular area of article to start voice reader. Sometimes voice reader repeats the same sentence.

Excellent reader app, only issues are that sometimes it fails to fetch an article entirely and sometimes articles may look a little broken (some small formatting errors like headlines not boldened properly or italics missing etc). But it does work more often than it doesn't! One of the better reader apps I have been able to find from Play store thus far.

Great alternative to paid services! Cleans up articles nicely for reading, allows basic annotations, folders and has global URL export function. Also allows backup of all articles but you'll need to remind yourself to do that. Oh and using same articles on multiple devices doesn't work well. Small prices to pay - set a reminder every few days. Great app, thanks so much for it!!

Great experience and you can freely read articles without ads or links or any notifications interrupting you. Some pages are incomplete and some just take too long to load. App needs automatic dark mode option. Give an option to completely turn off pictures in the article. Let the app for perfectly to the screen instead moving sideways slightly. And most of all please update this app.

Pleasant experience all around, but could do with some automation features. For example, it would be extremely convenient to be able to "subscribe" to the Economics category of Bloomberg, or a particular author on Substack, and have new articles automatically download and appear in the app.

Pretty good! Though it needs improvement. Please add "back up data and restore data" on settings so that users would be able to restore the saved articles once an unexpected error occurs. For example, I accidentically uninstalled the app on my phone. But, since I backed up my data before that careless mistake took palce, I could still restore all articles that I saved by downloading the app again on playstore and clicking the "restore data." Thank you😊

Profoundly useful app, and the lack of the need for an account, and an export option means it's no fuss to offload stuff you've archived onto an old flash drive or hdd. EDIT: I've exported some articles (from medium, in particular) I've read, and my main gripe atm is that the articles lack the author's names in them when I export them. I'm forgetful as hell, so having the authors in the articles themselves would be great for when I eventually credit them. Looks like some pdfs DO have the author, some don't, but I don't know what the pattern is.

Starting to rely more frequently on this great dark-mode reader. Could we please get the capability to reorder folders? Thank you! Edit: Really needs the ability to sync articles (with dropbox or google) - I use on tablet and mobile and both have different content and when I'm using one I have no idea what's in the other.

I'm a long-time user of this app since it was released and it is the BEST article reader available to download! It's been 2 years since the last update yet it works flawlessly and gets the job done the right way with great customasition options. It's a must-have for all those who like to read countless of articles on- or offline. Thank you

This app never allows you just to tap text anywhere you wish so the app can start reading from there, no, it always starts reading from beginning. There is fast forward button though, but this is just a poor replacement for tapping option because by using fast forward button you have to spend time navigating through text in order to finally get where you last stopped.

This is a great little app, loads & saves article very fast, silky smooth, folders, plus TTS. Only improvement would be to have the buttons (save, folders, TTS, menu) on the bottom since they're not so easy to reach at the top of the screen. Hope development hasn't stopped, Thanks

Lub. P. Feb 27, 2019

Good concept, but it saves only reflowed text, not the full page content. If you try to switch to the original web page the app needs connection to reload it, so it's not really offline. Maybe an option in settings to save and view original pages as default would help.

Superior to the outdated Instapaper. Article Reader Offline is what Instapaper should be. This app has superior fonts (none of those godawful serif fonts of Instapaper); better readability (thanks to its customisable zoom feature – something that Instapaper disgracefully lacks); easier saving of articles (without the missing text and missing pages of Instapaper); superior share article features; and ability to flip back & forth between the original version of the article.

Great app that converts webpage to PDF with minimum size by removing all unnecessary images, ads and clutters. We can save webpages with its images too however it's either all or nothing. Developer should facilitate selection of images to be saved in the PDF. That will make this app perfect.

Ton. L. Apr 6, 2019

Amazing app. I do have a small suggestion. When the app is reading an article, it would jump back to the beginning whenever the screen orientation changes or wherever the screen turns off. this needs top be fixed.

Man. V. Oct 28, 2019

This is the best app to read articles, blogs almost every webpage that contains or covers inappropriate ads and disparities. Just install and enjoy the greater good of it. I wish they would have had premium one to extend more features than the basic one. Great job developers and team. Thank you.

I would rate this app a 5, (easily....) ,however there's seems to be NO EASY WAY to have this app read anything but web links and I can even create a manual link either targeting a PDF on my phone or targeting a PDF elsewhere...for example,... a hard drive... and it will just spin and spin and not open, so apparently the "link" **MUST** point to somewhere on the WWW which is a bummer. And other than* that *glaring* hole (HA!) in functionality I so-notedI, I love this AWESOME app for cycling!!

I find this app simple, usefull and handy. PDF of articles are clean and small in size. The reading voice is clear. It would be exellent if mhtml or mht files saved in device might be opened. Overall I appreciate the app. Thanks !!!
