, for someone that is in Communications I find this app very helpful before I go to class or if I feel like I'm going to give a long speech uses to helping them see my words a little more clearly and to help focus on channeling my breathing it's funny how I can put that but it actually does help you with the proper pronunciation techniques and finding you're doing the correct pronunciation of the word great app
I was testing this before having my daughter use it. I have never had a problem with my speech, but it wasn't able to understand me a sungle time out of several different words.
I like this app but for the adverts that pop up with each letter chosen makes it very annoying to use.
I found the application very frustrating, as not all of the consonant blends needed were offered.
Would be perfect app for articulation if a real Human voice was used instead of a robotic one...
words were computerized, not helpful at all for teaching a child to speak English
Best App for speech therapy but can be frustrating atimes
I love this app. However would you consider adding triangle fluency pyramid sentences?
kindly add sentences too which will be more helpful for the users
excellent app for kids to pronounce nicely
voice recognition is not great
great for speech therapy homework
free until you download. you have to pay to use
hello.. this is a good app. Can you mention the technologies you used to build this app?.
nice! yet to try it out more
my son love this game
kid cant use the app
I was very excited for this app as I have a son who has been in speech for over a year now. The reviews said many good things about this app but it was not what it seemed to be. The app isn't as welcoming to children as it should be. It also doesn't accurately hear the child say the word. My son was saying a word perfect but it kept telling him he was wrong. I then tried after him and it continued to tell me I was wrong. My son and I both became very frustrated with this. It will be uninstalled,
I use this regularly with my kids and it's helped them learn and pronounce words very fast. I feel using this regularly at home for a few weeks has helped my 3 year olds articulation more than anything else including SLP sessions. It's so easy that toddlers can control it.
Voice recognition very poor. My daughter was saying words correctly but it consistently misheard her, which is frustrating. I just ended up marking it correct. App does provide a wide variety of flashcards though. Couldn't find the simple sentence structure or promised. Will be looking for a better app.
One problem though. When the card represents a number such as three or thirteen and you say 'three' or 'thirteen' the app interprets it as a number (3 or 13). And there's no match. The workaround is to spell 't.h.r.e.e.' which gives you the match. Not good. But otherwise a VERY useful tool.
Helped my daughter with articulation practice. A lot more impartial than me! It gets a bit annoying since the app just uses the same encouraging words ("you're really trying! ") over and over, but very useful.
I love this app because it is very useful when I don't have Articulation cards on hand at the clinic. It separates all sounds into initial/medial/final, which is also great. Also, includes the 3 most common blends (r, s, l)
The speech recognition is actually pretty good. There are a few glitches occasionally, but mostly involving a slight mis-spelling of the word on the card (one card was written as "tomatoe" so when the speech recognition heard "tomato" is marked the response incorrect). My son is very sensitive to criticism, but very determined to "win," so the motivation of beating the card keeps him more engaged than being corrected by a person. He eagerly practices his speech with this app, which is more than I can say of face to face efforts.
Would have given better score, if we we're constantly interrupted with ads.
Very good app for speech therapy. My son is improving a lot. The only thing is that he will be a Trini with an American accent.
So far this is wonderful! It is very similar to what the speech therapist was using. I like the option of beginning, medial, and end sounds.
I use in speech therapy sessions frequently. That being said, not all the sounds are correct. For example, the word 'chef' is in the 'ch' section, but you don't pronounce it as a 'ch', but as a 'sh', so it really sounds like 'shef' and should be I the 'sh' section for articulation practice. Besides that, it's a handy free app that I can recommend to parents without them having to fork over tons of money.
