aShell

aShell only allows you to edit any SQLite database on your ROOTed Android device with aSQLiteManager. aShell has NO use without aSQLiteManager
With the donate version of aSQLiteManager you get the aShell functionality build into aSQLiteManager.

As it allows you to edit the system databases you need to know what you do before starting editing. You might destroy data needed for your phone to work properly!

SO HANDLE WITH CARE

The root file explorer in aShell allows you to browse your device and if it is rooted you have access to any directory. The explorer allows you to sort and filter the files.

Before editing a system database a backup copy of the database is placed in /mnt/sdcard/.aSQLiteManager (named databaseName.back) here you will also find a version of the edited database.

If you like aSQLiteManager and aShell consider buying the donate version of aSQLiteManager and support the development and be among the first to get new updates with new functionality!

This thing saved me quite a bit of time and money. However, I have a bit of a problem here. If there's a blank space in the path to the database I want to edit (e.g. "Some App"), I get a null error stating "no such file or directory." Not sure how one would fix this, but it'd improve this app a fair amount if this were taken care of.

*** Edit: Developer added the suggested feature, so I'm up-rating the app. Kudos! *** The original comment: Martin, thank you for this very good application! One suggestion: there are databases without the .db extension. They are not recognized as databases by aShell.

Only lets you edit databases that end in .db and not the ones that don't. 5 stars when it can edit non databases.

aShell worked fine. Verizon knuckleheads locked two bookmarks at the top of the bookmark list, bookmarks I'm not inclined to use much. Or at all. So all they do is irritate. aShell found data/data/com.android.browser/database/browser.db without trouble ()I had to go ito settings to tell it to get root access by default), then it launched aSQLLiteManager to edit the database. I deleted the (stupid) Verizon entries, rebooted the phone, and voila! the bookmarks are gone. A appreciate people like Andsen giving us the ability to clean the bird poop out of our phones, but I don't understand why the smart folks at Verizon are obsessed with doing things like locking those stupid bookmarks.

Great app, but I'm not going to update until I see bug fix updates. This is the kind of app that needs to run solid.

Worked perfectly on my Tmo version of Samsung Gallaxy Note. Downloaded it to edit delete and remove the useless factory loaded and protected bookmarks (like the Tmo store) in the Adroid web browser.

Very useful applications. I wonder what kind of command should I write in aShell to open my database without using File Explorer all the time ? I'm trying to write "/data/data/com.example.p0751_files/databases/Database.db" directly, but it seems not to work. If I write "aSQLiteManager /data/data/com.example.p0751_files/databases/Database.db" instead, still doesn't work.

This app really allows you to edit databases, not like some other apps. Great!
