(2 1/2 Stars) - The "A C-T" is still somewhat of a Local News & Investigative Reporting source for Asheville and WNC for now, but since Gannett took a more direct/active role in running the paper ("into the ground") with major cutbacks and layoffs, plus the GateHouse Media takeover "merger," those days seem shortened to the extreme, with never-endingly smaller papers, filler from AP & other USAToday papers, plus missing sections and prolific non-proofed repeated words, typos & misspellings!!

It's very easy to use, and the display is very clear.

App freezes at least once a day requiring a system reboot. Hard to move through articles at times. Pages get "jumpy" and don't want to settle in center of screen. Some days the comics aren't there! The higher definition is appreciated.

Too bad I can't give zero. I've just tried to install and log in. I literally had to enter my email address and password at least 10 times. Every time I switched to my password vault to copy my password, switching back caused the app to reinitalize and ask me to reenter my email address. When I did log in and pick the publication date, the app reinitalized and wanted my to log in again. Forget this app.

It is easy to navigate when it works. Sometimes I have to tap 2 or 3 times before it responds. Sometimes i have to restart the tablet. i am patient because the paper is invaluable to me.

I recommend it. When it works, it is a great way to read the ACT and has good functionality. Be patient, sometimes the daily edition won't load, sometimes the text view won't load.

Every app on my phone that has an account linked to it, remembers that I have a sign or subscription. Every time I open this app it forces me to enter username/password, but it clearly remembers me because it knows which articles I haven't read before I sign on. This is a total PIA, and I frequently just close the app vs, the hassle of a really crappy and user unfriendly app.

It is the whole paper without the paper to recycle. No waiting on late delivery drivers. It is equally finicky with apple and Android. Have used this app for years and have no intention to stop.

Not all pages would scroll through the entire story. Too glitchy.

Update is easier to navigate, crisp and realistic. I like to read my paper and have it look like a paper.

I am enjoying the e edition as much as I did the paper being delivered. Actually, I can take it with me no matter where I go. The other day, I read while I waited in the doctor's office.

It fails to work repeatedly. Now won't download.

It's just fine when it works but often it just brings up a blank page which seems to be happening more frequently.

Doest always work flawlessly on my android phone but most of the time is fine. I do enjoy it and would recommend it.

Whether reading on my mobile, tablet or laptop i can readily get to the section or even the edition quickly. Still enjoying the ACT.

Provides quick read of morning news since delivery of print edition is so unreliable.

App is easy to navigate. of course the paper itself is terrific.

Often I have trouble downloading paper. It takes many tries to pull up the paper

I find it easy to skim through the paper every morning on this app.

Sometimes will not load and I have to uninstall and re-install to get it to load

You should say a subscription to paper version is required to access app!!!!!

Never was able to open to read the paper.

Makes reading the news easy anywhere.

Can't get a delivery of the paper. This allow me to read the paper without going out to buy one.

Great app. Easy to navigate.

We're moving to Asheville from Boise soon and this newspaper is providing valuable information.

Best way to stay informed locally!

Pretty good app, though still a little clunky.
