My first attempt /purchase of the dictionary did'nt install properly, which was disapointing because I had higher expectations based off other user reviews. I refunded it, downloaded the free app, and repurchased it through the free app. For whatever reason, it downloaded properly this way. So far, my baby and I are watching it together and loving it. The videos & explanations are easy, cute, & stick with you. I hope they develop a more comprehensive app for later child development.
I love the videos, they are easy to understand. My toddler also enjoys watching them as we learn new signs. I just wish there were more signs relevant to us - I've gone to look up a few to teach my toddler and they're not included (coffee, pizza, etc). Other than that, we love it!
this app is very educational, and very helpful! my daughter has unilateral hearing loss, and this app has really helped me in self-teaching myself and my family ASL. It obviously doesnt have it ALL, but helps me when I forget a word. I enjoy the video format and how they explain the sign. Def worth the buy if you're serious about learning the language.
Excellent app for the most part. On some of the girl's videos her hands are not visible on the screen. I'd like to see some words added, such as 'hold' or 'carry'.
Search function needed. Inside individual categories you can search. But to find a term, I have to find which category it might be in. Looking for the sign for "today", no time category....so maybe doesn't exist or is part of another category. A simple search would make this app easy to use. Otherwise it is actually more difficult to use than to just Google my request.
This app is amazing and I love it. However, some of the videos don't show the whole sign since it only works in portrait. (Example: big)
Nice, but needs an update to support newer model phones. The teachers are cut off on the edges of my S9+.
It doesnt run smoothly on my new phone because it's says the app isnt up to date but there are no updates for it
Got 2 nonverbal kids (age 4 and 5). this helps. thanks so much
Great app but.. The purchased app will not work with my phone so I had to refund
I went thru a ton of apps and websites before installing this and I love it! The tutorial videos make remembering the signs easy peasy and only took 5 mins to download the content. I only wish I'd started teaching my 15 mo old earlier bc now he just laughs at me when I try to teach him some signs, but I enjoy it for myself nonetheless :)
I really like it. The explanations are good. The only down point is I can't always see the ladies hands. They are off the screen at times. Making it impossible to see. The mans are fine though. Update: found other programs with more words and more accurate signing. Some signs are nothing like ASL that I consistently see other places.
Best features:no internet needed, allows for better load time, saving money, no service needed. Teachers explain how & why signs are done a certain way, & even tricks to remember words. My son learned all the words in just a month or two, as did I. Only complaint is I want both of us to be fluent, they can add words or make an advanced app offering more words. My other ASL app offers 5,200 signs vs this app offers maybe 347 that's a massive difference; take time & effort to expand vocabulary it'll pay off
Bought this app and tried to download the videos but I keep getting an error message telling me to correct my date/time/time zone in my settings before I can download but these are all correct! Very frustrating as I love the lite version and wanted more words. Waste of money.
Don't know why the bad reviews. The videos load fast and are great. Just wish I could pay to expand the content but looks limited to the 300 signs or so.
Very informative but put together in a simple, easy way for both you and your baby to learn.
I paid for the upgraded version. I still can'ttype in a word that's not already offered. It took forever to download! I had to stay in the app to get it to download and it still crashed while downloading. Disappointed!
So frusterating when you pay and it does not work. Free version better
I love the extra description of each sign, such as I love you is a combination of I, L, Y. It helps me remember them better!
We are learning right along with my granddaughter who has downs. It is wonderful to see her communicate. She has more signs then words. Wonderful app
The videos load quickly, the instructions are easy to understand. Our 4 year old grand daughter speaks very well but she wants to teach her baby brother to talk to her and this works.
I'm totally disappointed, I can't open the app! There is a message saying that the app is not licensed for Google Play, but I just bought it from Google Play!!
I always find myself looking for words that are not on the list and I end up having to look for said word online.
Been wanting to learn but only own nothing seemed to help. But this has and I'm so grateful!
Has videos and explanation on when and how to use the signs! Has a quiz to help you learn I've learnt 30 words in one night! Just use the app while in bed is so easy!!
Love this app tried books but this is the easiest way to lean n teach your child sign lenguage
A really good App to help my niece learn ASL! The images help her easily understand what the sign is for. Hoping for more improvements - some of the videos are zoomed in so much that we couldn't see the hand gestures (videos are in portrait - gestures that extend wider than the interpreter's shoulders are cut off by the screen's left and right edges). It'd be great if there's a Flashcard feature -- with bigger images for objects or an animated GIF for Verbs are shown with a Play Video Button.
