AstroPrint (for 3D Printing)

Here's the thing. There seems to be some general bugginess when trying to connect to a Thingiverse account, in that the app just infinitely loops out of the authorization. That, coupled with an inability to connect to my particular outside 3D printer has left me disappointed and underwhelmed. In theory this could be a great app, but since my FlashForge Finder isn't compatible, I'm left app-less, unauthorized, and bummed.

Love the overall experience.., but there are a few things that need to be fixed. The first being no control or access through the app for setting/slicing profiles and even printer profiles. It's a head ache to lean and find everything, but once you figure the web ui and how to get to all of the settings you'll love astroprint. The app should allow billing through the google play store it would be less of a headache also.

This app worked great for a while, but has sucked for the past month or so. It still give me notifications when a print is finished, but whenever i try to check on a print it just says "no printers found". Obviously they're connected since i'm getting notified. I'll be looking for a better alternative to this app.

I love this app! Use it everyday with my Ender 3 Pro and it was quite easy to set up my own astrobox even without a WiFi module. Definitely would recommend for beginners. I'm in gr. 7 and I love it. Just so UI friendly. I love just sitting at my desk and keep printing and printing.

My experience with teaching myself 3D printing while recovering from some massive mental health problems has been weird and probably not the most direct route, but this app was instrumental for me. It simplified enough of the process that I could get comfortable with my printer. Just came here to give a big thanks to the developers.

Decided to redo my review after not being able to access my astrobox for the 4th time. I reset my astrobox password about six times and still can't get into it. Seems like this is an ongoing issue with no permanent fix to prevent this from happening. The cloud part of the app seems to be it's major week point which is a shame.

Edit in response to Devloper: If there is a temporary loss of internet connection or a connection time out and the software crashes when handling such an event, that is an issue with the software not the network or end user. Your response amounts to, "since it is caused by a network issue, it is not our problem." Yes, fleet management plan has been available. I have inquired several times and have never been given a pricing structure or even an offer to upgrade my plan. Thus, these features remain unavailable to me. I have been told several times that a "business plan" that includes some of these features will be "coming out in the next week". It does no good to offer the features, if users are not allowed to upgrade to get them.

The app has great features. I have it running on my old phone which has been repurposed as a touch screen for my 3d printer. I used an app that allows it to autostart with my phone. However it does not support landscape. The app has some features the website doesn't and visa versa. The website won't work in full screen on my old phone or I would just use that in landscape mode on it. It's just ugly with a address bar on top. Also the app always disconnects from the printer and has to relaunch.

It is probably the best app for 3d printing via the cloud and having remote access. The UI is clean and simple and easy to understand. Printing continuously from desk is definitely a lot of fun !! Hope they add new features as well !.

I had been using this app, exclusively, to start my prints from my phone. But for the last ~2 days, I've been receiving the following error: Internal Server Error: The request cannot be solved because an internal server error has occurred. I've tried force stopping and resetting my phone, uninstalling the app. Nothing seems to work. It does this any time I try to open a design from the design library. This effectively eliminates the only useful part of this app.

Coming from octoprint I love the integration that astroprint provides, allowing me to use it on my laptop, phone and through touch on my raspberry pi, the way I can check out thingiverse and then print straight to my monoprice delta is great. Having used both octopi and this I wouldn't go back to octoprint which pretty much sums up how good astroprint is

I lost my printer I set up and it's now telling me I dont have a astro box or whatever it's called. It was working on my octoprint server last night and earlier today. I can access octoprint just fine on my laptop and cura but not on this app now. I can deal without the actual live stream for now. But not being able to connect at all , out of nowhere is irritating Does your reply instruction cause me to loose my.on going print? Now it is working great again, thank you for the responses.

I love the fact that i'm able to control and view my printer from anywhere with just about any device i own. Great app that always worked. The Astro Touch Box was well worth the money and was the perfect upgrade for my Ender 3.

Dissapointing. Why does this app present as a slicer?? I need to slice .stl files on Android. I can do everything and more, remotely, than this app offers, simply by using my VPN to access my home network. And I can do it without third party overhead, and over shoulder creepery.

Pretty dissapointing. Theres no way to edit slicer settings in app. I've since found the web user interface which has what I was looking for, however it does not work well using firefox on mobile.

It was an okay app I wouldn't reccomend it though you can't really have the right expeirience on a computer though because it is really slow and doesnt really work and the small screen is also a problem.

I just tried this app for a week. Works great! Easy setup in both Octoprint an android. Now it's easy to check on my 3d print jobs an receive alerts when job has finished.

Edit (question below): Does this app not allow Fleet sign in like the website does? I am unable to sign in and thus am disappointed in this app (I'm sure that my rating will be a 4 or 5 if I was able to sign in as the website version is superb!) Will a fleet app be released soon/functionality for fleet sign in for this app? Because I will definitely use it.

UI is a bit mixed up or let us say not intuitive but yes a very useful app especially when you are not using any ddns services. Good job just keep the options more relatable and good luck for future updates

I normally don't do reviews or give my opinion if not is good intended feedback. However this app just made me do it. I love it, such an awesome concept and idea. Printing at home from work with octoprint plugin just made my day. Keep it up guys!! Love it!

I've found that the mobile version of the website is more functional than using this app. They should just replace the app with a PWA in the Gplay store.

I can watch my H.264 stream just fine in Samsung Internet on my Note 9, yet this app says use VP8. The dev says some androids don't support H.264, well the Note 9 does as I can watch it in the stock browser... This needs an update asap or there is no point in using the app, just use the browser.

Amazing interface, love using this on my printers, and in conjunction with octoprint. Love the notifications and the remote viewing capabilities.

Downloaded this because it popped up in the search results for a 3d Slicer, but could not load my own stl files. Not useful at all. why does it want to connect to thingiverse?

cannot use on tablet. has a cannot connect to local host 8080 error as soon as i try to start the app. works on phone fine. tablet is lenovo a7600f...phone is galaxy s5 active.

not as advertised. you cannot create any CAD files or STL files on this app. uninstalled and deleting my account. complete waste of time

it's great, and it works well. but it could use more 3rd party apps on the phone app, besides thingiverse

The best slicer app I have used, but it even though the developers reached out to show me how to download the gcode it doesn't actually download it anywhere I could find.
