When it works, this is a good system. But getting to work can be a real pain. It took about 3 hours and customer service calls to finally get the system working. Now about a month later, the interface to access the router (either via cable or the mobile app) has stopped. There is a Service Unavailable message and it's been like that for over a week . The system functions, but i can't change the parental controls or check usage or do anything that I am meant to do. Very disappointed.
Hard to set up. After adding a satellite it seems to connect (cyan lights) but cannot see it on the app. The amount of available settings is a lot less than web interface. No information online to help either. Don't understand why "easy wifi sharing" shows the intranet information rather than the guest network information
Junk junk junk, just like the lyra itself! Fails to connect almost all the time, even when it does it takes 5-10 minutes for operations to finish. In the end, after hours of fiddling with the device/app, still unable to connect to my router in mesh mode! One node worked (after an hour or so) the other one keeps failing. Just spare yourself the drama and buy something else.
Extremely bad, Its the worst app to ever exist 3 and a half hour later and still not able to establish the network. For some reason it keeps failing to create administer account, and when it did I accidentally went out of range and everything failed and I had to start all over again. I'm returning the lyra and more than happy to delete this useless app.
Latest update is a COMPLETE disaster . The system is good WHEN it's working properly , which it doesn't, more often than not. Honestly if I had my time back I would have went with the eero system for about the same price or Google wifi system and saved a few bucks . Stay as far away from this product as you can, if you enjoy your sanity lol. Cheers
I really like the product but this app needs some redesign. It's painfully slow to navigate, and I don't mean just setup (that's sort of expected since it depends on the devices). Also I can never access any Lyra network remotely and check their staus it just hangs for ever and then doesn't let me back out....
Lyra hardware great. I got it up and running and firmware updated using the browser interface when Google Play wouldn't download the app. Three days later, still can't download the app on any of my Android devices. (other apps download just fine). The Lyra hardware is maybe a little better than TP Link Deco, although they are also quite good. The Lyra app seems from the reviews to be behind Deco's first release (and that could be downloaded). Several updates later, Deco's app is miles ahead
Can't update the firmware, can't even find what the latest firmware is, NONE of the FAQ links work. None of the links work at all. Twice now the app has reported the date as 1969 & detected only the wired primary node, with 'service unavailable' error message. Frustrating!
Latest software update is showning Ethernet backhaul not connected ..even though remote Lyras are green on the units and appear to work correctly. The hardware is a fantastic piece of kit, bought the set of 3 AC2200 covering the house and many devices with strong connections throughout. Initially didn't work when setup wirelessly. Ethernet connections via gigabit homeplugs between the units resolved the connectivity and all nodes now provide high speed
Asus makes hot piles of trash when it comes to routers, I've had issues with the Lyra trios since the day of purchase, constantly dealing with connection issues daily. You think if you are paying a premium price for a product, you are expecting a premium product. To anyone reading this, please do not buy an asus router, unless if you wabt to deal with multiple issues daily.
Fix Your Damn App, Asus! It's been three weeks since you broke it with your last update. It exclusively shows "Service Unavailable" and an inaccurate network setup. ALL of the functionality is broken and you can't access network options/settings via web services either. This is UNACCEPTABLE. Fix your damn app!
Poorly implimented app. The user statistics stopped working months ago and have not worked since. All internet usage is reported as Upload. The download side is always idle. If the developers of a networking product cannot tell the difference between uploading and downloading, what hope is there for the rest of the product?
took me hours setting up Ethernet backhaul, sinply because this app shows incorrect data. while the router status lights show its using Ethernet, the app shows no connection between the primary and secondary routers while showing the secondaries using wireless... Router Hardware is Very good, just wish the app would live uo to that performance
Each update of this app comes with more bugs and errors. In the latest update, other than the main lyra, the other two lyras were not detected or shown in the network manager tab at all. It was working fine before this update. Please come up with a fix fast.
Works fine except for one annoying thing. The function to control whether or not the device has led active doesn't work. It always says action failed. I have one in my room however I need to shut it off every night because otherwise I can't sleep. Looking into this issue would be appreciated
1. the app is only showing one lyra even though I have two more connected and set up. 2. can't load the latest firmware. 3. ethernet backhaul is not working (after multiple tries to follow the official manual). wasted a lot of time and money on these devices ...
Unable to get it to recognize my two lyras and control them, most of the time. I have grown sick of the message "Service unavailable"! Infrequent updates to fix the bugs and even the updates seldom improve anything. I actually find the ios version better.
Often says 'Service Unavailable' and the app won't work, even though the (trio) nodes are working fine. Our samsung5 also gets random signal drop outs that we can't explain, but that isnt the apps fault I dont think.
The app is not user friendly. Unable to change the WiFi password after setting up the router. It seems like the Password fields is not taking the input. Because after i changed the password. My Wifi become Open.
Two things I really miss: 1. With more than 4 lyras, the network map does not show which is connected to which, causing a lot of manual work. 2. Lyras are a bit to smart when it comes to changing the path to the Internet. I would like to be able to fix the lyras so they alwas talk to each other the same path. Since they do not, I have to restart Lyras way to often to make them reconnect in the right way.
The app is great, everything is going fine with the 3 lyra's. Just wanted to ask if u can add a feature to the app were we can change the timetable in the usage statistics of the device connected to the lyra and thanks.
Worst f*** app. The device works fine. I've this for over a year now, but the app didn't work for 99 percent of the time. DON'T BUY this if you are looking for a mesh wifi.
Same here. terrible app. Lyra doesnt allow configurations after setup mode is locked. app is useless. WiFi keeps running but internet connectivity drops randomly. unreliable and waste of time and money
Fails to show all Lyra devices, just the primary device. If you haven't installed the latest version, 1.0.0.0.83, then DON'T DO IT, stick with your working version until ASUS pulls out their collective finger and issue a functional app.
All Lyra Trios have cyan LED lights and appear to be working. But only the first 2 nodes show up on the app. Thought it was a hardware issue with the third node until I read people having the same problem. The app is terribly buggy. Please fix it Asus!
App is ok, but no longer able to check for firmware updates. System constantly says failed to retrieve update. Also cannot remove devices that no longer exist from appearing on the system.
Got the latest firmware update and only the main could be connected. The other 2 stuck in orange mode. Had to resetup the whole thing again. Blame my silly self for fixing what's not broken.
Update: latest firmware fixed my problem. All nodes can be seen now. All mesh missing from the network map after the latest firmware update. when i reset the LED is on permanently in the mesh inside my bedroom and now i cant turn the damm LED off. Please fix this the soonest please and remove your recent update before more people face this problem until u fix it.
This app is a mess in many ways. It does the job but it does it poorly and confusingly. Nice visuals but it doesn't feel snappy to interact with the app at all, it acts very slow when trying to do anything. Trying to update certain settings often result in a generic error message. Multiple times I've had to reset the mesh system because the app decides it had enough of doing what it's supposed to.
