the trip planner is great, so long as no buses are late or cancelled. it doesn't refactor at all, and is only usable if there are no changes after the trip starts. this will leave you stranded unless you close the app, and start over.

Occasionally buggy and the algorithm for journey planning is in desperate need of an overhaul or replacement. Have used this for years, best I truly can give it is "Good enough", but when it's the only option available the bar is pretty low to start with.

cool app... but would like an option to set up an automatic payment to my hop card not just an option to auto top up when I go below a certain balance, I wont always have money in my account for that option

I am unable to log in to check my balance when the log in screen comes up, nothing happens. I have reinstalled the app and still nothing. The only way to check or top up my AT Hop card is via the Web.

Terrible app. Bus got cancelled twice and it did not update or change the times it comes. Then proceeds to state its already gone by. Terrible backend/ live update feature

Absolute garbage. You simply cannot rely on this app. It says busses are coming that aren't and doesn't tell you about other busses. When you need to be somewhere on time do not use this app!

This app is not good can't trust the Auckland transport system yesterday I waited for the 10:49pm 25L at Mt roskill shops it didn't show up it didn't say cancelled can you please update your app and confirm which services are running or cancelled I had to wait for the 11:17pm bus instead

Not that flash. Under estamates the cost of your trip. Every trip is 30 to 50 cents more. Also the planner is not accurate. Don't know if it's an old schedule but some buses no longer run and there's a discrepancy between the planner and the schedule on the bus stop. Sorry but Google Maps is more accurate.

This app is aweSOME! When you're new to using the Auckland buses & trains, the app tells you when your bus is coming & when to get off 👌

"GO" system doesn't work at all. It often finishes itself. Cannot work properly.

The app is OK, but the journey planner has on numerous occasions made me miss the connection, which is very frustrating when the connection is either infrequent or even the last in service. In all cases it wasn't due to unexpected traffic conditions, the timings are just too optimistic. Knowing this, you have to work backwards yourself to a realistic journey that might work without getting overly lucky. Defeats the whole purpose of a journey planner.

Great that you can see when buses etc are arriving. The process works very well

The app says i have $20 available next time i tag on. Has said this for weeks when i last topped up. I come to Akl for xmas and get declined when taging on due to insufficient funds. It seems i waited too long between topup and using HOP card (lockdown) so was refunded. But the app reported (and still does report) there is a topup pending leading me to think im good to go. I got stuck without a ride. An inexcusable bug/loose end in the app balance reporting

helps me to know my card balance and organize trips etc, very Awesome

This is becoming a really great app. The new live times and early bus status are awesome. This used to be really frustrating. The initial versions were a bit buggy and hard to use but surprisingly AT actually seem to be committed to providing a great experience. Someone here actually understands UX. Thank you AT for doing this properly. My one feature request is to be able to join a trip in progress. Sometimes I forget to start it and don't know where or when to get the connection.

I have used AT for about a year. When I first got it it had flaws, but was mostly good. With this new update it shows me all the most expensive and tedious ways to get places, where I would have to take 2 buses and trains and tag on/off 6 times - and I KNOW there is a simple connection where I have to take two trains and I only tag on and off ONCE. The times overview is also confusing and jumbled. I basically can't use the app anymore except to see what trains won't be running. Disappointing.

It's difficult to separate my thoughts on the app with general Auckland Transport woes. It would be great to have walking directions to your stop/station (for those of us who struggle to read maps). I really like the notification that it's time to get off the bus, it's great for when I'm travelling to an area I'm not familiar with, or even when I have let my mind wander. It would be good to be able to top up your Hop card in the app, instead of browser.

Extremely good app with one really painful issue. I ride the bus occasionally, so being able to check times etc is handy. What's not handy is being woken up at 6am telling me that such and such a line is out of service. I don't care... Most times I'm not riding the bus or train anyway. There's no option to disable alerts and you can't block them via Android either. Bad show!!

Pretty decent app overall. It would also help if the live departures map was more responsive - when zoomed out it is *incredibly* slow. Maybe don't try to calculate the exact number of stops in a large area (the information is useless anyways), or just use some hash-based estimates - e.g. "20-40" displayed on a marker instead of "26". Also app icon should be updated to match material design guidelines.

I wish it was more like the older version/ more like how it is if you use journey planner on the desktop site because it always misses out other routes and alternative times. It would be much better if instead of clicking on each individual journey to see alternative times, to have have a setting which allows you to see everything without having to click on a bus stop. (It would be cool to be able to turn it off too though if you don't like the clutter).

I've been asked to update my review for the new version of the app. Most of the issues still apply. At least they fixed the journey planner a bit too give slightly better routes. The rest, and the one star, stands. "Inaccurate time to arrival, buses disappear, doesn't give easiest or most concurrent route... basically what you'd expect from AT"

Start with the good, there are some good features in here. The live tracker for buses is great and I use it quite a lot. But man, the arrival time estimations are so so SO off! My journey is predicted to take me 45 mins across town, instead takes me close to 2 hours! This isn't a one off either, it's happened a few times, so much so that I've resorted to using my gut to figure out how long a journey will take.

Journey planner should provide an option for viewing direct point to point connections only (e.g. filter out the change bus options). In doing so, at a glance the user can clearly identify the two options available - direct and indirect. It appears there is no such option or filter in this app, which is considered more useful in my view. Alternatively, enable the user to display a longer list of connections without having to go back and change the time setting in Journey Planner.
