Don't make the mistake and sign up for the basic feature, because you will be upgraded without your consent to the pay version, and then won't be able to cancel it because you are lead in circles to try and cancel. I really hate it when companies take advantage and trick consumers with the basic, but then change to the pay version unless they cancel in time. Then make it to where you can't cancel and it doesn't show up in the subscriptions.
I like the idea of having call and mobile security all in one app. But, they just automatically changed it without telling me..and I had basic before..but they bumped it up to an advanced when they changed it, but I can't find it in my Google subscriptions. Also, I keep getting notifications saying "Upload failed. Go to app to upload" when I tap on that message, it takes me to the blocked numbers in the app..and I honestly don't know what they're talking about! I don't know what triggers it.
Barely updated the app. It says it's active when I open the app and in notifications, but I keep getting an alerting notification in notification that says upload failed. Enter app to start upload again. I can't see the rest of the message. When I click on it takes me to the add a number to block page inside the app. I added a number to see if it would stop it, but it still keeps doing it. I have no idea what it's even taking about. I Uninstalled the Call Protect App, but even that didn't work.
Hey So. It just stated that I have another app. But unlike usually how it will state if it's safe and what the app. I got nothing. Can you fix that? It's kinda annoying. Also. Can you please add a listing option for each scan? That would help. Edit 5/17/2022 What did you guys do to the layout. The old one was a bit easier to understand and showed me the icons of the apps when scanning.
Not the best or worst app, for security purposes it's probably the best. AT&T Active Armor is one of the most used applications on my phone, it doesn't pop up like one, but it runs in the background actively scanning my phone for malware, and lockscreen issues. Battery Analytics say it used 31% of a full battery in one day, absolutely rediculous. Most days I'm at work on a secure network/wifi, and I only use the YouTube app at lunch, why is it always scanning if I'm just a YT and PowerAmp user?
App could use fixes & improvements: For Calls: 1. Attach contact names to #s. 2. Clicking on "Report" # does nothing - brings up blank white page w/nonfunctional report button that does nothing (can't report). 3. No way to block calls. For Data Breaches: 1. List of companies to add is in random order. Please alphabetize to make easier. 2. Why does list of companies seem so arbitrary? List includes obscure choices but not some common ones. Can u make ability to add companies that aren't in list?
I had been using the Call Protect app and it seems that ATT disabled the advanced Call Protect that had been included with the Elite unlimited and moved to this app, the problem is they did not notify us that the change was happening and when the Call Protect was changed from advanced to basic the calls went through the roof. I have gone in a tried to set everything up in this app, it says I need to give it permission for location services before I can use several features, the thing is it already has the full use of location services in the android settings so that seems to be an issue with this app. For the calls protection it shows that 1 of 2 setup is done, go into the calls portion and everything is green. So not sure what to think because of the app not accepting the android settings it already has. Please do not tell me to e-mail for assistance just post troubleshooting and correction steps here for everyone.
Update. Still not impressed with this app. Seems buggy and it looks like it is making a negative impact on battery life. I also keep getting notification that my call blocking list failed to upload. I expect more from an app that costs $4 a month. I really don't care about the security part of the app as it really doesn't do anything. The call protect app was pretty good. ATT has merged the apps and ruined a decent product.
There may be something wrong with the latest update. In the two days since it was updated it has twice drained all remaining power (35%+) and crashed my phone in literally just minutes. Have never had an issue with this app before. Hope this gets fixed soon or I'll be uninstalling...
I can't stand this app. I get it free with my at&t plan but I don't like it and don't want to use it. But I can't disable it or Uninstall it no matter what I do. The built in VPN is always running with no way to turn it off or choose a location. If I try to manage it from the my at&t app I am told that my device is not eligible for this service to try another device. Kinda funny that it says that being that it's on my phone and enabled already. Very very frustrating. I want it gone
Is there some way you can develope what the notification actually indicated for I'll go through the entire setting scroll carefully NEVER FIND A CHANGE I'VE taken screenshots to compare. And I babe to turn my phone off and on again to get the notifications icon telling me something is a foot. I've even read every single breech report page after page and even for the ones not associated with. Still there. ****Sometime between 5-5-22 to present I'm getting a failed upload. I read all articleshlp
Wish it would get past the setting up page. I waited for like 5 minutes and I have full bars and wifi but still won't do anything. If you can figure out why it won't pass the setting up page, I'll change my stars. I am tired getting spam calls and text messages. I want to use this but can't till this is fixed.
Not sure what happened, since the last update it's been sucking up my battery. Used 18.6% of my Samsung S21 Ultra's battery and I had to charge my phone in the middle of work. Usually I can get away with not charging it or giving it a partial charge around the end of work at worst. Something is really wrong with this update AT&T.
Iam an ATT&T customer since like 87 before their take over. Since this app got installed don't even now how ATT&T did it.. like it just appeared... My phone battery wears down fast, did won't recognize some of my contacts, and my phone has reset it's self to the phones original settings multiple times, loosing numbers, sending calls directly to voice mail never ringing or showing up on my call list, caused me to go in and reset everything on my ATT&T phone like I just took it out of the box.
I too cannot completely set up the app. There are error messages or you just plainly cannot pass every step for set up. Oh thanks for giving us the heads up for those of us that had AT&T Call Protect. At least the cell signal is dependable!!
VPN interfered with getting emails. As soon as I disabled VPN, my emails were able to download. I've also had the VPN block a lot of valid internet activity while on my home wifi network. Seems like the VPN service is not very reliable. And the app uses a large percentage of battery.
At set up to verify number, a message says there was an error with REGE-1 and to try again. Tried four times and still get message. Can't set app up to scan phone. It only allows paid version and won't accept free version.
Battery Drainer!! It's a good app but it drains the battery. Battery was on 100% early in the am by noon I was to 39%. Yes I realize it needs to run constantly in the backround but battery has been draining more than usual. Never had to carry a charger before installing the app.
App has problems connecting to data sources. Some top level screens work fine. The detail screens all give a "something went wrong, lets try again" error message repeatedly.
I like this app but I keep getting a notification that an "upload has failed" . The notification tells me to open the app to restart the upload. When I go into the app via the notification, it takes me to the Blocked numbers page but there's no way to upload anything. Please fix this annoyance and I will give the app a better score.
Constantly locks up hit a snag won't display calls since it's new update the app is worthless it it just keeps hitting a snag and keeps throwing this air Box up and crashes you can't block any numbers you can't edit nothing. Sent development an email they told me to send screenshots if I had any more problems hadn't heard back it's been 6 days now
Keeps saying, "upload failed" then brings me to a block numbers in app. This is very annoying so I turned off the notifications. Please fix immediately then I will rate higher. Thanks!
It is now blocking all callers. What a disastrous app. After multiple tech support personnel attemped to resolve the issues, I have been advised to avoid using these after market security apps altogether. Now I am waiting for my "Advanced" subscription of "Active armor" to expire in hopes it will delink from the standard security app. Tech support was unable to uninstall as it requires "Administrator" authorization. THIS app is a hack. Now neither I nor AT&T tech have agency over my new Ultra.
Is ATT creating scenarios to push customers to this app? Suddenly, contacts in my phone are getti g calls from me in the early hours of the morning when I am asleep. It has happened twice in 2 days. When I looked for Information on it, an AT&T chat exists and directs you right to this app. Is this a game to get me to use an app that already sounds shady in their plan/subscription practices? The first agreement to not resolve issues by jury or class action makes me suspicious of ATTs honesty...
Battery and Data hog It does what it says it will but is always active and running so it drains the phone battery and consumes a ton of data at the same time. Kinda defeats the point.
Love at&t. I get 5g coverage in areas that I look at ppl with Verizon and others that they don't have 5g in those areas with watch them complain of their cell in 4g lte coverage of drop down to 4g with hardly any bars or whatever and I just start laughing at them poor suckers. I had always had problems when I had Verizon and tried TMobile, us. Cellular, and prepaid services like trac phone and others and their service coverage areas don't match up like they claim.
I'm very annoyed. I keep getting notifications that my upload failed. What upload? When I click on the notification, it takes me to this app but there is no information about what is being uploaded. The app is very confusing!
It is not blocking anything, and every time I try to fix it the permissions say they aren't active and "we have hit a snag". I am getting spam messages and calls.
Is this a legit ATT Mobile Security app? I already have Mobile Security, and this appears to replace it. Poor functionality from onset as it's been over 10 minutes since upgrading and getting "hang tight, we're setting up your account, it shouldn't take too long." Now 15 minutes of "hang tight."
Here's the thing, I've upgraded to the Elite plan with AT&T, but you don't actually get the Advanced option in the app itself, if you want the advanced features you still have to pay $4 per month, which is misleading to a customer. When calling AT&T 3 times on it they say the app isn't needed for the advanced features.. what? I'd give it 1 star, but the free stuff on the app works well.
