AT&T Secure Family Companion™
AT&T Secure Family Companion™ is a free companion application for installation on your child’s device. Secure Family Companion is designed to work with the AT&T Secure Family™ parent App.
Features enabled by pairing the Secure Family Companion
* Locate Family – Track your child on demand or on a regular schedule, for example every day after school
* Location Alerts – Receive alerts when your child enters or leaves a location, like school or practice.
* Location History – Review where your child has been over the previous seven days.
* Limit Screen Time – Block your child’s mobile data and Wi-Fi, on demand or on a schedule you choose.
* Content Filters – Filter inappropriate Apps and websites by age or customize your own settings.

AT&T Secure Family Companion is free and only works with the purchase of AT&T Secure Family, available in the Google Play Store for $7.99/month (includes up to 10 lines)
AT&T Wireless customers – pairing the AT&T Secure Family Companion is recommended to get all the features of Secure Family. If you do not pair a companion device, features are limited to AT&T network-based location, scheduled location alerts and location history.
AT&T PREPAID wireless customers and customers of other wireless carriers – pairing the AT&T Secure Family Companion on the child device is required to use any of the Secure Family features
Other important information about AT&T Secure Family:
- Secure Family Companion is a free App but it requires pairing with another phone that has the AT&T Secure Family app installed, which requires a monthly payment. See AT&T Secure Family for details of payment and cancellation.
- To view, modify or cancel your subscription, go to account settings in Google Play Store. No cancellation of the current month’s subscription is allowed. No refunds or credits for partial subscription terms.
- There is a compatibility conflict that can prevent the addition of AT&T Secure Family Companion to your child’s device if you have AT&T Mobile Security Plus running on the same companion device. If you wish to continue with the purchase, you must either remove AT&T Mobile Security Plus from your account or downgrade to AT&T Mobile Security Basic on the companion device before adding AT&T Secure Family Companion.
- AT&T Postpaid Wireless customers - Secure Family and Secure Family Companion app users must be on the same account. Only authorized app users have permission to locate a family member.
- Devices running the Secure Family App or Secure Family Companion App require Android v.5.0 or higher.
- Note: Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically reduce battery life.
- Availability, timeliness or accuracy of location is not guaranteed. Coverage not available in all areas. Someone maliciously installed this app on my device without my permission and there is no way to remove it, I spent an hour on the phone with at&t customer service only to have them hang up on me. The developer failed to anticipate that this app can be misused by adults to invade others privacy and give them access to an indivual's personal information, location, private messages, photographs, etc. as well as control what apps and services they use. Now I have a 200$ useless brick because AT&T wont do anything about it and the app doesnt verify that device being monitored belongs to the account holder with legal authority to install or that the owner of the monitored device is not a minor or a family member. I am a 39 year old male and in no way related to the account holder but i am the owner of the device they installed it on, so good job, at&t Made a foolproof way for criminals to track and control victims and theres no way for the victim to disable or remove the app.
less than one star. It's constantly showing a notification of "updating" in my notification bar that cannot be removed. it always says the other phones paired aren't currently showing their location so it doesn't even serve it's purpose. Also, once you've paired your phone there is no way to get the app off of your device. the Play Store will not allow me to deactivate the app. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED NOT INSTALLING THIS APP
Nobody in my family downloaded this app, when asking them, they don't even know what this is. It just appeared one day, with no warning. I can't even get it off of my phone, and every time I try, it shuts off my phone, and closes all of the apps that were open. Now, all that I have is a notification on the top of my screen telling me that my phone is connected to the VPN, a notification I cannot remove.
I have the companion app installed on a Samsung Galaxy 3. But when I run the app I can't press the button on the lower screen to continue because the button sits just off the bottom of the screen where I can't touch it... and two other links on the screen look to be out of place and crumpled up above that button i'm trying to press...I have these AT&T Secure Family apps on other phones and they work ok...can we get this fixed really quick? Thanks :)
Difficult to use, even as a parent. I came from Sprint Safe and Sound family locator which was easier to navigate, locate, and understand. This app is really bad. Not user friendly at all.
It keeps apps blocked that are not blocked and blocks the internet. It never shows the right location either, and when we fix it and restart the phones it goes back to the old restricted settings. I would not recommend!
The previous version of the app was great but this one was awful. anytime my kids phone dies and needs to be charge it quits working. It wouldn't let me turn on and off data except at monthly bill time. Huge waste of money.
I'll admit up front that I'm a teen (18), however: The app worked great for a while, mom really only uses it to track me when I'm on the road. But it's suddenly blocked apps and websites without mom doing anything and has marked many harmless ones as malware (YouTube, Google, Disney Blitz, Ao3, Tumblr, and Reddit as examples.) But I guess I'll suffer while your app can't tell the difference.
What a load of garbage. My dad turned my internet off for a short time, and ever since the app has been acting up and my entire family is having their internet shut off at random times without anyone even accessing the parent app. It's a smart concept, but it should be shut down until all the bugs are worked out.
It gives the wireless provided all access to what you are doing and who you talk to and it controls internet access as well. This app will completely destroy you. I do not recommend this app at all.
As a mother myself, this app has been nothing but a burden and invasive to my entire families privacy. This app has drastically changed my phone for the worse. Its lessened battery life, its interfered with my charging, and its slowed down my phone entirely. This app has made it to were apps or sites that are completely appropriate and child safe have been blocked and deemed "inappropriate". It's a waste of my money and I would not recomend it to the other mommas out there!

I hate it. It blocked me from apps that weren't even inappropriate, but then there's these ads, and it won't block me from that. It won't even uninstall or "deactivate". If you don't like apps that can see your personal internet info lole passwords and usernames and credit cards, I suggest to NOT get this app.
I use this app daily and it was awesome, i loved it. But within the past week, its horrible! Its not accurate and before it was so accurate it was scary. Now it tells my my husband is in a forest or a lake...weird things like that. Please someone fix this fast!!!
I have a few ways to get this off your phone the key that is on the top keep trying to click it then hit disconnect, the second ways is go to the administration apps then try to click the screen were you see the disable button, last way this will only work with I declined card or visa gift card but try to get nordvpn and try a free trial and you can over ride it by also cooking and trying to hit the option on the screen before it goes away
Very disappointed this app doesn't work right at all. Suppose to pair with at&t secure family with my phone. Asking for too much extra downloads. Not happy at all
Battery runs down way to fast when I'm using this. Example, woke up today at 6:04, 100 and still on the charger , got my phone almost instantly, by the time of 6:30, 93%, so if you think anyone is making the entire day with this app your on something.
Can I give this one star? I have had a horrible experience with this app. Not for the price. I have no rights on this app including uninstalling after my Mom unistalled hers. She unistalled her's and told me that I could do the same. When I tried to, it said I don't have permission to uninstall without the code from the parent app. (IT IS UNISTALLED FROM THE PARENTS PHONE!!!!!!!!)
AT&T Secure Family is not worth the price. This service is worse than the wireless coverage in my area and that is saying something. The service is very slow and sometimes doesn't even work.
My Mom has trapped me and I can't get out I no longer have my privacy and you can't get rid of the app. please any teens out there avoid this trash and don't put it on your phone and if you do put this trash on your phone you might as well wipe your phone because now you are stuck with this forever. This app really takes awaythe idea of a smart phone. (Somebody help me!!😔)
Horrible, is the only way I can describe my experience on this app. We could never get it to work in the first place and now I cannot delete it off of my phone. It says I have to deactivate it in my settings before I can uninstall. So I go to my settings, where it tells me I have to unpair device before uninstalling. So I try to go to the app and unpair, and it tells me I need a parent code. Do not get this app!
My m is very strict and uses this all the time to turn off my wifi. I looked at the screentime thing and it said I was on Netflix, AND I DONT EVEN HAVE NETFLIX.
Has unpaired errors 90% of the time and won't resync. Not comparable to Smart Limits. Not effective monitoring app. Really has no parental controls.
i lost my right to my privacy because my mom decided she cant trust me, which is a reason why i have trust issues, depression and a therapist. whats on my phone keeps me from ending it all. now everything that i have is blocked and i cant do anything about it. thanks whoever created this app for all the controlling parents.
When my mom used this app on my phone it already gave me big problems with two apps. The first one I noticed was snapchat, everytime I opened the app it closed no matter what I did. And discord, I can't log in at all. And I know the discord part sounds dumb but, I logged in my account 15 minutes before this all happened completely fine.
The VPN that the app sets up constantly disables rendering many features useless. Why should I pay for a service that doesn't work reliably!
it just invades my privise i havent been able to be on my phone after 9:00 if im puting in the effort to sneak my phone into my room i should be able to watch this also i couldnt disable even if i wanted to.just remove it from the app store.this is why the world is such a bad place.just why if i want a vpn i want one that dosent give out what im on or my info.it is just so dumb
This app is useless, my son can disable It just by going into his phones settings, selecting privacy, and then simply opening up the settings from there to turn it off.
