This app is definitely on to something! Keep working out the bugs. The location needs some SERIOUS work. Not entirely sure what it is required for, other than descriptive statistics... Other than that, that seems to be the only major hang up. If it is something that is preventing a good user experience, consider throwing out the location feature. There are other ways to track stats and authenticate accounts and usage....

Very glitchy. Disappointed because when it's working properly I am using it every day to cast to my Google chromecast. Be aware. If your phones rooted it won't allow it. We can't use my phone. For the price of the plan and their marketing I really hope they fix fix the bugs. Revise. I have this temporarily for the unlimited plan. I spend almost a half hour sometimes to make it cast to my chromecast properly. Something went wrong, buffering and too many streams, when there aren't. I am starting to wonder if it's a marketing ploy to get me to purchase direct TV. Once I do not need unlimited internet. I am done with it. What a shame. Just fix it.

Well, this USED to work perfectly for the first month, worked flawlessly! Last week, when trying to watch CNN I would get an error saying it's not available and to try later. I ignored it, thinking it was my signal. After a week with the same error, I uninstalled and reinstalled the app and now can't even get past the log in screen as pretty much everyone else has stated. The lack of response is what's most concerning. Especially since this is a "premium" feature that adds $20+ to your bill.

I have had this app. for about a month. The advertisements are getting longer and cut into movies more frequently than when i first downloaded it. Not sure how the other movie apps. are but this one is getting worse. It started out 30 seconds for advertising. Now its up to 180 seconds. Sometimes it does back to back advertising. not recomended at all.

So many ads. If you pause a show for longer than a minute or two, once you resume, it starts with another round of ads. Within those ads, there's a TONNNNNN of freezing and skipping. Sometimes, slow loading and it will randomly shut off. I've had this service for a little over a year, and yet it's the same issue. I only entertain this app maybe twice a month. That should say a lot.

The app is a cool idea to have tv channels available with your phone plan. But it shuts off the program if you get a text or need to access anything else on your phone. And you cant find what you were watching when you go back in to the app. It's not under the 'resume watching' list. Very frustrating, especially if it was live tv. It should pause the program or minimize the whole screen, like netflix does. Missed too many endings to shows to make this app pleasurable to use.

This app is very basic in its functionality, and that is very apparent. This is purely a live TV option. There is no DVR, nor it does not notify you when your shows are on. You cannot split screen during commercials (or at all), you cannot skip through commercials. The 30 or so channels is the only package; the only ones offered at all. I can only use it on my phone, it does not work on my Roku or my Vizio smart TV. You definitely get what you pay for, with this app, and ppl should be aware.

Been having technical issues with this app since I installed it. I can't fully watch a movie without buffering issues. In the midst of the movie that I'm watching, it freezes up and is constantly loading. So far I am very dissatisfied with this app. If the issues are not fixed promptly, I will be changing my plan or finding services with a different phone provider.

TERRIBLE! Took me forever to "watch" something bc it said my location was off when it was actually on. Had to change my settings to "around my location". Most shows aren't the full seasons. When I did find something to watch, it was slow and acted like it was buffering the entire time. Very annoying. I wouldn't pay for this service. I already have directtv and would much rather download each station app onto my phone then have to go through the headache of dealing with this app.

This app is currently (Sept 2019) very buggy. Lately, I have not been able to access other seasons of tv shows except for the first one and when watching movies, I have an innumerable number of ads. Every time you switch between apps and resume the movie, you have to sit through two minutes of ads. Very annoying if you go to answer a text or something. I hope that they work to resolve these issues.

it's not the cleanest interface, but it's still nice. Ironically my biggest complaint is simply being unable to edit my "Continue Watching" since things episodes that are completed are on there and stuff that I do want to watch. Would really like the option to delete things from that list. especially stuff with three minute commercials that I have to watch that error out and I have to watch again. Because God forbid I take a call from my phone during the last 3 seconds.

Absolute trash. I wish I could give negative stars. I chose the unlimited plan so that I could have this streaming capability, but the app doesn't work. Even if the video managed to play longer than 15 seconds without buffering, it still wouldn't matter since the audio doesn't play through any device I have it connected to. AT&T should be ashamed of themselves for promoting this "feature" and for even allowing the app to leave the development process for consumer use.

Pretty good app. There is a weird problem where occasionally the picture freezes, but the sound keeps playing on live tv. I have to close the app and reopen it to solve the problem. Only takes a few seconds, so it's not horrible, but it's a bit annoying. Other than that the selection is decent and the picture quality is great. Hopefully an update will fix the freezing thing.

Definitely had problems with getting the app working. If I remember, you need to activate your watch subscription on your att account. You can't just sign in and go (thumbs down) I'm here because of the pause overlay bug everyone is complaining about. It just started for me today and the only fix I found, thanks to a comment here, is to uninstall the application and install a previous version which can be downloaded from .apk mirror which is simple you just have to allow it in your phones settings. I chose the Sept 9 update (2.0.12...) hope this helps the ones willing to do a little troubleshooting. Cheers!

This app is absolutely terrible. it has issues providing playback almost everytime I use it and it says I have too many steams open when I closed the other one like 10 minutes ago. I understand it comes free with service and I have no right to complain. But the Directv Now app was running off the same kind of application and I was paying for such a service. I would rather spend $40 on YouTube TV because the app is more reliable and you can use it on a multitude of different applications.

there are more advertisements during the programs than any other app or television station that i have ever used before. 5 advertisment breaks lasting 180 seconds totaling 15 minutes of ads during a 30 minute show. then to top it off i had to restart the show 4 times to be able to finally watch the last 4 minutes of the show when it froze up at the end, only to have to watch an ad each time that i restarted it. i would pay to remove ads if that is possible, but i doubt it. waste of my time.

I think this is a great alternative to subscriptions like SlingTV. I do not understand why everyone is having so many problems. Since day 1 of installation, I have not had a single issue. All the recent reviews show they are reviewing an outdated version. I guess you have to stay up to date on the app to have a good experience. Having AT&T wireless internet also helps with it.

Login errors every time. They've been "fixing the problem" for what seems to be an amount of time that indicates they aren't actually fixing it. That or they're starting from scratch. Let's hope. For now, 1 star. UPDATE: One month in and there has been no improvement whatsoever. I'd like to take the 1 star I rated this app and send it straight through the nearest black hole. This app isn't worth any stars. Trash.

Better than some streaming TV apps out there , you just swipe to the next channel, instead backing out and then going to Guide/Listings. But the latest version has a weird bug where when I switch to portrait view to landscape view, I get half of the listings in the bottom, the image shown in landscape but on the top-half , while the orientation is still portrait. I have to back out and go back to the channel to fix this.

I pay to watch more commercials than I've ever seen, and they will play 4 commercials at a time, but it will be the same darn one over and over. I cannot even get thru one show, because of this...I get frustrated and turn it off. If I pause it and the commercials are playing when I come back they start over at the beginning of them. IT IS RIDICULOUS! WASTE OF MONEY! WASTE OF TIME!

Takes forever to load shows that are on demand, if they load at all. A lot of the shows have at least 7 or 8 commercials during each break and they are the same commercials over and over again. No option to reduce commercials or different variety, even for extra cost. No ability to stream through Roku or tv. I honestly feel it is a waste of money.

I've been using this app as an early adopter with DirectTV now 3 years ago, and the experience is just as bad as day 1. Not worth a single penny. I cancelled AttTv and switched to this since it's free with my cell phone service. I wouldn't pay an extra 2¢ for this service if I had to. Constantly tells me I'm at my stream limit. Flat out doesn't play most of the time. The casting experience is the worst of any app. If you use this service your best bet is an Apple TV to use it.

A month ago, this app was good/ok. It was nice that I can watch TV on my phone. But now, there are errors, sorry for the inconvenience, and unable to read location. There's no troubleshoot or report area on the app and no ETA or reason why the app isn't working. Very disappointing since I've been a long term customer for OVER 10 years.

Very poorly done. As previously stated, be prepared to sit through ads. The app is programmed to stall or freeze after large blocks of ads. To continue your program, you have to back out. When you go back to your program, you have to sit through the ads again. It us not unusual to have to sit through 60-80+ ads before AT&T allows you to finish you show or movie. This is "after" AT&T purposely stalls your program - there are still the dozens of ads you have to watch just in the normal of things.

it just keeps getting worse. Now it doesn't work over Chromecast since an update a few days ago. It starts to load then "oops! Something went wrong" message pops up telling me to force quit the app and try again. It doesn't help. I'm finished with this nonsense. I pay an extra $40 a month for this feature and it's been nothing but a failure from day one. I'm transferring my phone to our other carrier and shutting down att altogether.

i turn on the location just like it says and it still says turn location on. It makes no sense when it shows what's on but i can't watch anything. I've used other streaming tv services and never had to use GPS just to use it. It's a waste of my battery and frustrating that i can't ever get it to work. $15 isn't a good deal when you can't utilize the service

Updated 07/16/21: App definitely improved a lot but now I'm unable to watch ATT watch tv on my computer due to some changes made as far as the new universal app. I've made several attempts to log on and it just says, not working. I need help. Update: the skipping and freezing stopped as of yesterday after I called for technical support. They advised me that my plan didn't include Watch TV. I told them it was incorrect. I found out that the new plans don't include it unless you get the Elite package. I have a 'grandfather" account so they fixed the error and it's working. This app constantly skips and freezes. When it's good it's great but unfortunately it is not often enough. My modem is right across the room. I don't get it.

Having access to channels for cord cutters is great if you could actually watch it on a TV. It should be the WatchPhone app. NONE of my TVs have this app to be able to download, so it is only on my phone. When I try to cast it from my phone I have sound, but no picture. When I try to mirror it from my phone I have video and no sound. Makes the features pointless. Thankfully, at least I can use the HBO Go app with my sign in and use that, but I am losing out on all the other channels.

This app is trash. They use it to lure in new customers or to get existing customers to get this "awesome" new plan that comes with all these free channels, shows, and movies. Utter garbage since the app doesn't work to begin with. Signing in doesn't work until you go through numerous steps on a browser that don't explain anything. When you finally are able to sign into the app, the video doesn't work. You can see all the channels and shows that available to stream, but it's pointless since streaming doesn't even work. It's been around long enough for someone to fix this. It's been around long enough for someone to tear this app to the ground and build a better app from scratch. Why has nothing been done? Hire compitent people. Please.

completely doesn't work. Says I must subscribe even though I have. This is supposed to convince me to use Direct TV? That is hilarious! Time to explore alternatives to AT&T... update More than 2 months later and it still doesn't work. Too funny. What a joke. FuboTV has been working great for me. I highly recommend you go check out their TV services. For one thing, their app works! Across all platforms!
