The app works decent most of the time. My issue is, if the video/audio recorded with the xsight 2 is a specific format, why not have a video/audio reader that will play both video AND audio in YOUR app? Why do I have to find an outside program (VLC) to try to transfer the video to just so I can hear the audio from it? It's a huge inconvenience, especially since it's ATN's app.
Ok, so as a performance tester in the IT World, I like the app. It does what is designed, although the not as intuitive as it should be for retail users (you and I), I able to connect via Bluetooth and Wifi to my Galaxy S9 and Kindle Fire 8 (7th Gen) . The streaming of the video is pretty neat and the ability to set the configuration from Wifi connection from phone/tablet to scope is handy. The options within the scope is a nice to have. I admit I like the ability to see 100 yards out with pretty good clarity to identify animal with the 850 IR that mounts to the side of the scope. Now that I have mentioned the good things about scope, let me mention the bad the side. The Bluetooth function is no good, you'll want to use the Wifi, not sure why they put that function on this. You only have System menu and Environment settings only available for bluetooth. Also, you'll have to your your phone sides to see the options on the screen for either/or wifi / bluetooth due to the way they made the app. All in all, it's a good concept but definitely needs refinement to make it more user friendly for us consumers.
i just got a Thor HD 384 and I like it for a entry level thermal. the app is kind of clunky but does somewhat of what its supposed to. Configuring scope settings is nice. I cant view or download any photos or videos to my phone. when i click on the media option, it loads a camera icon and a recorder icon with a check on the right side of screen. clicking one or the other icons only greys or ungreys the icon. No idea what this means. App could be greatly improved.
I never thought in my lifetime could I afford a fancy top of the line Optic that does all I could ever want but also wish for.. Well thanks to ATN, I can! I bought the X Sight II and it is absolutely amazing! The technology is absolutely top notch, with built-in gyroscope, barometer, compass rangefinder, multiple reticles and different options for choosing your night view.. not to mention that it records every shot, simply put the most amazing scope I could ever have dreamed of and I love it!
the app seems pretty good at its core but i have two functionality problems, after pairing it would be nice for a redirect back to the home screen, instead it takes me back to the pairing screen. and the most inportant fault to me is that the screen rotation on streaming puts the video off screen. please fix, im on a Galaxy Note 8.
App hasn't had any updates since July 2017. App freezes, scope freezes when connected using wifi. Close out the app, power off the scope, turn back on to get the scope to work. I think ATN can put a little effort into updating the app!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
POOR !! When I click "xsight" it does nothing. This complete setup is pointless if you cannot view on your smart phone. There are so many more manufactures of night sight with smart phone capabilities at alot cheaper prices.
Newest update on 6/2/20 does not work. When you connect to your scope and click "xsight" nothing happens so you can no longer access the settings, setup, or view finder. Emailed ATN got no response or help.
Iffy is the best I can say. The review prompt asks me to tell others what I think of this app. I'd like to do more than that. I want to tell the developers and the ATN CEO something as well. Pay attention. This app on my Android 10 5G phone is a bit buggy. Attempting to zero my scope with it failed, among other issues. If you contact me I will in fact give you the environment that it failed in. Good to know if you want to resolve the issues with this app. This is my message to the CEO and the devs. I have an X-sight2 HD. What is my incentive to purchase another ATN scope or recommend one to others when the interface software is this iffy ? I see the Obsidian 4 app has a whopping 3 stars with issues as well. I would like to think that these are not dime store scopes.
Doesn't work. Connects to my scope, but nothing is there. No settings, no nothing. I tried obsidian 4 as well. Another failure
Great to be able to input caliber data in via phone. But... I cant share videos or photos, the app crashes when i press the share icon.
a rubbish app terrible interface with the atn nightsight terrible thumbnails and terrible search or filter functions my general customer sat with ATN is very low and if I could give them negative stars I would as one is 6 too many.
It was great..... Easy 5o use and links up to your scopes easy..... I have the 3-14 4k pro and the 5-20 4k pro and love them they are crystal clear and haven't had an issue out of either one since sighted in.....
Bought used 5 days ago. Read up on it, updated firmware,fresh batteries, It works by the book. not simple, but new to me. X sight HD 5-18X to a note 9.
Really frustrating this app won't connect with my device because it's so out of date. Makes the ATN product 50% useless in my estimation. Would be nice if they updated their app for their customers.
Don't have issues with the app or optic because ATN's costumer service is a joke. If you need them don't email. I have two that are over a month old with no response!
Ok scope when it works. Horrible software app and scpe firmware. They need to hire a real programer. This isnt new technology its been out for years. Hopefully someone gets fired real soon and someone that knows how to program replaces them.
What a hunk of junk ,the scope won't connect to my Samsung phone! Its pretty much a paperweight at this point
Poor! It still doesn't work for android phone. For the amount of money that we paid for the scope the app should work.

will not connect to scope with either wifi or bluetooth have gone back to the old version which is much better
Used to work with older Sight X model but now it does not. Nothing like trying to force a customer to upgrade.
Seriously lacking in updates... obviously no customer support... ATN hasn't even answered anyone since 2017. I wouldnt have bought this really expensive and nonreturnable ATN thermal optic if I'd known all the epic failures there are, with no way to resolve them... no effort from ATN to even resolve those failures. Talk about feeling cheated and hustled.
Not compatible with android v12 Note 20 Ultra. App refuses to recognize that it is connected.
Someome can solve our problems in atn 2 hd scope?? When we click power button so our scope after vibration not show screen.. What's is the problem of this??
Streaming quit, but I can still rename profiles at least.

app no longer works with most recent update using ATN Xsight 2. ATN offered little to no support in resolving this
Well I know my OG X-Sight is not the newest most hi tech unit in the stable. It used to do a lot of things that it won't do anymore. Given the price when I bought this unit, it was something I would only buy once. I've barely used it to be honest but now have lost the ability to live feed to my Android Device. No more access to set up menus or make any device changes. Literally the features that I wanted when i blew money on this thing are. I can see video and pictures with the app. THAT'S IT!
