Attack on Titan: Assault

This game has so much potential, but it has a LOT wrong with it. The graphics are quite good, and the detail on the characters' models, animations and abilities is top-notch. The titans are uncanny and true to the show in their weirdness. Now, onto the bad. The User Interface (UI) is one of the worst I've ever seen: Imagine your grandma's Internet Explorer window with millions of toolbars installed, and that those toolbars all have differently shaped, flashing buttons, and are all anchored to different sides of the window. This gets you in the ballpark of how bad this UI is. There's a million different buttons all over the screen to get to places that are all very similar in theme, but that each do something very slightly different. I knew of a screen that I had gotten to before, and couldn't find my way back there. Game modes often don't tell you what their special restrictions or buffs are, and if they do, it's in a different spot for each of them. The game has a very poor tutorial that doesn't explain major game mechanics, and once you go through it, there's no going back to review. The cut-scenes blow by without enough time to even display all of the text on the screen—let alone read it—and I've found no way to slow them down. There's no consistent way to go "back" from any given screen: sometimes it's an "x" in the upper-right, like you'd expect, but other times it's a "Return >>>" button hidden near the middle between other buttons, or sometimes something even less intuitive. Sometimes, multiple of these options are visible at the same time, and some will take you back, while others take you to a different game mode entirely. There's a bunch of ways to upgrade various parts of the character, but many of them are thematically the same and yet require different currency items, (of which the game has *literal hundreds* of types). For example, I can upgrade my character's equipment, including their ODM gear, and then I can equip them with ODM gear (a different thing, apparently), and then I can upgrade that second ODM gear, and then I can refine that second ODM gear. All of these use different currencies. Another example is I can level up a character, or I can Rank up a character, or I can Star up that character. All different things requiring different currencies and providing improved stats. And when you can bind Titans to characters, those can also be leveled up, which just seems to provide more stats to the character (and again requires a different selection of many different currencies). The game also makes heavy use of Quick Time Events (QTE), but its implementation of them makes them incredibly susceptible to UI lag. It's basically the core mechanic of the game. Given that missing the timing can be the difference between victory and defeat, this is an unacceptable thing to not have working well.

The game has potential and now that I have had a much better experince with the game I can say it could be better on a few things. The QTE needs a lot of attention as it doesn't function properly, or the timing is off. The frame rate should be faster, or smoother. CGI's are sourced from the anime so it's perfect. After the game gets some much needs updates my rating will change to reflect on it.

I really like the Attack on Titan series. Learning about the game's realase, was really exciting. There was never anything like this for Canadian fans (I think), up until now. After downloading it and playing for 5 minutes, it crashed. It repeatedly crashed after only playing for small periods of time. It doesn't, anymore, that's good. It's really laggy, though. I.e fighting titans, playing in the arena. It doesn't respond to you, (which is frustrating). Besides that, I really enjoy the game.

So this game isnt bad in fact I think it could be big however just like anyone it has its glitches. First the attack button can get pretty confusing although it could very well just be me. Second the game when switching from cutscene to action gets very slow. Other than that it's a great game please keep up the good work I cant wait for the next update.

After the new update September 27, the game gets stuck at loading paging after finishing a task and never gets out! Very unfortunate. I really like the game design and mechanics. However it has been buggy from day 1 and devs don't seem to be able to fix issues. It is unresponsive a lot of times. Pushing buttons don't do any thing. I hope they fix it.

Seems very fun. Gorgeous game with excellent sound. Plays well. Intro walk through is a bit lengthy, and forces you to go through each and every thing. I'd rather contextual tutorials as I access different areas and not a lengthy force-feeding of the entire game. It does lack a bit of polish, which is the only reason I've dropped a star. Other than that, its fun and playable.

I am not going to delete this game just yet I really just hope that you guys fix the crashing! I still haven't even gotten past the tutorial yet and every single time and it crashes on me and I know it's because of the stupid 2 Ram garbage but mine is 1.8 and I'm assuming it's because of that too. I have more important things on this phone that I need. just please fix it so it stops crashing it looks like a fun game and I really want to try it

As a huge Attack on Titan fan, I was pretty disappointed. I had first tried to get it on the previous phone I had and it wouldnt really get far and would crash. Since the phone was pretty old, I just thought it was because of the phone; however, I now have a new phone and can't get past the first stage without the screen turning black and having to repeat said stage. The tutorial makes it seem like it would be a really good game but sadly, that's not what it seems. Waste of space.

I like the idea and mechanics of the game, but it does not quite deliver in terms of actual play. The dialogues are a bit unresponsive and tend to require multiple attempts to dismiss or progress them. The tutorial skips over tap, which is a bit of a surprise when it's suddenly thrown at you in the first unassisted level and happens to be the least obvious control. Auto play seems like a terrible idea and presenting a disabled auto button practically at the beginning immediately turned a possible game to play into something I was only exploring temporarily. I guess this could be why they called the Discord a "Disscord"

Okay so this game was super fun for the first couple weeks that I played it, even spent some money. But OH MY GOSH there's a bug in the game that genuinely won't let you play it. You click on trials, friends, the map, your heros, etc. It. Doesn't. Work. The screen just acts like nothing is happening and you stay in the main hub. I used to spend hours a day playing it and now I'm lucky if I can play for 2 minutes without this glitch happening. Fix. This. Please.

The game is awesome so far. I'm really enjoying the gameplay especially the parkour and turn based fighting. Only thing that's bothering is that right when you get to the second challenge and you attack, I can't do anything after that. The titans are clearly moving but the attack option no longer shows up. Hopefully, this will be fixed soon because I understand the game is fairly new and I'm really enjoying it

This game was a lot of fun until these past couple of updates. While certain aspects have improved, others have gotten much worse. Colossal Titan is now once a day and more often than not is already gone before it can be challenged. There is also a severe bug that prevents interacting with the game requiring restarting the app. Character draw is iffy at best for higher ranking characters. If you enjoy Attack on Titan the game is worth a try. Hopefully they'll address the negative aspects soon.

The gameplay is pretty fun. I really enjoy parkour mode but it would be nice not to have text (e.g. flash bang/enemy knockout) block the whole screen while you're running. Also wish it wasn't a limited thing. UI is a bit busy & notifications (e.g. rare card pulls) are awkwardly placed. Wish there was a way to disable it. No major issues for me so far aside from minor lag during battle on rare occasions that ends up breaking combo. Also wish they released content gradually vs too many at once.

Amazing game. Great graphics and mechanics. One suggestion though, please add an option to switch between English and Japanes voice acting. I watch the anime in Sub and its just weird and a bit confusing to hear them in English. But since this is only during battles, I can safely say this game is awesome. I can't wait to see what you guys add next!

A very interesting gotcha-game idea for a very popular series. unfortunately, this game is plagued with problems. i know everyone seems to have their own problems. after about 2 minutes, i can now longer click on anything and am forced to restart the game which is pretty game breaking due to the long loading times. id probably enjoy the game if not for this

will keep the game downloaded in case there is a Japanese audio patch. The english voices are way to awkward and unnatural. also the tutorial stage is also way too long, just spent the last 20 min letting the game basically play itself as a "tutorial". also ran into a few bugs, joined a server and pressed escape however the tutorial does not allowed you to tap cancel so if you reboot the game after upgrading eren it will tell you to upgrade him but he already is so you cannot progress.

It's a great game, however cannot get past story level 3. The screen goes black and even through restarting the app and my phone, it still stays the same. Cannot progress any further without completing level. It is beginning to wind me up because it is such a great game so far. Please fix this and will give 5 stars.

very fun game, except touch controls are so unresponsive with QTE events that it sometimes feels as though they are nonexistent or predetermined, would love if you could fix that, even just slowing down the time for the QTE events giving us more time to actually press the button might help a bit, but honestly just need a rework in the Touch control department, apart from the , at times, infuriating QTEs, incredibly fun .

It's a good time killer, but not what I was expecting. The graphics are pretty good but some of the animations aren't too great. The gameplay is unique but can become quite bland if you play continuously for long periods of time. I personally haven't experienced any bugs which is a bonus. If you're a "Attack on Titan" fan, I definitely would tell you to try the game. However, it isn't a "must own" type of game.

I was really exited when I got news that this was coming out. When I downloaded it it was laggy. I thought that we would be able to roam around freely but we just get to tap buttons on screen. Also when I go to tap the screen, it lags a bit then i end up getting a bad hit. I'll be giving this a 2 stars untill the game improves.

There are grammatical errors in the storyline constantly. Each level ends very abruptly - you kill a giant and as soon as the blade hits them the screen switches. The guy says "take this" on every single attack - why not mix things up so they dint just repeat themselves over and over? All in all not the most fun game ive played - nothing compared to PUBGM for example.

This game is amazing. I wouldn't rate the graphics 5/5 though because it just came out if the ps1, but the gameplay is good and the customization is fun too. Ita not even a problem getting materials to level up, and it's easy to gain the characters you want too. The other problem I have though is that not alot of people play this game, or talk in chat anyway.

Cool idea, MASSIVE phone drain (minimum 2G RAM?!). Would be perfect for console or PC, but extended play on an average smartphone is impossible without chronic freezing & battle loss from lag. Controls are simple, rewards are good for free play (although figuring out/finding all is tedious), tutorial is long but minimal (bookmark a forum). I'd suggest the developers sacrifice some constant battle voicing & finer rendering for storyline voicing & actual gameplay. Deleting 😣

This is an amazing game. The combat is like no other, the graphics are amazing and I recommend iPhone 7 or up in my opinion but you can play on your 6s. Customization is great and I don’t want to spoil you but there are a few cons like every game in the planet. 1 con is that there are few places to fight on adventure and that you have to complete certain amount of levels to get the next few chapters. I understand that you need to be on same or higher power but needed to complete levels on adventure to unlock story is hard, because I really like the story and characters saying different stuff and voice acting which I haven’t seen anybody do is amazing and also that there are a few characters but I know you will change that with more and I will be happy. I say archer class is best. 1 more thing and that is that I love customizing my character but the thing is that I have to agree with others but I don’t have a problem is that you can’t change characters gender and you prob are looking into it or not doing it cause of voice acting and stuff but I’m ok because the gameplay makes up for it. Thank you, you made an amazing game.

ok. heres my issue, when i open the app, i get a loading screen, i wont deny its pretty good graphics but then it starts downloading extra data, which i have no issue with, until it crashes and closes. after it closed me being eager to play decided to re open it. then i get a notice saying something along the lines of "failed to extract data files" or something and then closes again

Turn based game. Not my style, it's called an rpg however its basically like those fantasy card games that you play your moves and wait to see the effect. I was really disappointed because the discription said it uses parkour-style gameplay so i was expecting to be able to control my character's movements. I missed part in the discription where it says "Turn based strategy game" lol

I understand some people's need for a tutorial but there are many people, myself included, that can not stand being railroaded through them for 30 min before we are allowed to play the game. Its a simple enough solution to add a tutorial skip button for the people who do not want to have their hand held and an inexcusable omission.

I really enjoy this game, but there are a ton of bugs in it. The camera phases through the titans a lot, and the titans phase through the ground and buildings a lot. Sometimes the game freezes when I finish a battle too. I like that there's a lot to do, I like the elite battles and the parkour. I know some people didn't like how you went with a card based game but I quite like it.

it was a really good game I liked it a lot (watch the series it's amazing!!) but having to log in with Facebook was a little annoying over all this is the best attack on titans game I have ever seen , I like the turn to turn attacking , as well as the variety of characters , and best of all the following of the story during your missions

good concept and all but the timing taps to attack thing sucks. the game moves super slow on my other phone cuz that phone is garbage, and even with the slow speed of the game i still can get these taps right unless i just button mash as the ring pops up. its as if just tapping doesnt work, or maybe im not tapping hard enough? or i have to tap and hold? other wise yea the games awesome.
