ATV Launcher Pro

The best replacement for the default, bloated launcher of Google Chromecast with Android TV. Has just the right amount of settings and a very polished interface and controls. That said, it is absurd that the wallpaper feature should work in the free version and be broken in this paid one.

Best there is! Nothing compares to it ! BUT you need a backup ability so if I need to delete the app and reinstall again my settings and images are still there ....I just lost all of my settings cause my opera app stoped showing ...nothing worked but a fresh install. And it doesn't let me do more then one thing in settings ..change background image or icon etc ...only one at a time and that's frustrating to reopen it for every change

Bought the pro version & started having issue that never appeared in the "free" version. The biggest annoying problem is when going back to the home screen, the tiles will disappear. Sometimes the names will still show, some will be blank areas. After restarting the app, the tiles will show, but you cannot select any of the tiles, the screen is frozen. You have to do a full boot to get out back working. They need to fix this, & it's too late to get a refund. Hopefully the developers read these.

Doesn't work very well with the NVIDIA Shield. Installed and paid for the pro version, and it really is a nice app. Love the configuration options. What I don't like.. Every so often, when going back to "Home" the launcher icons vanish and there is no way to get them working again. Even after force-closing and restarting the icons sometimes come back, sometimes don't. Overall, not stable enough to be a regular launcher. Shame too, I was really liking it.

This app is better in interface and customizations among long list of bad tv launchers. But it crashes often if you change something in widget section, and there is no way to save your settings. So when it crashes, you have to start from the scratch. In short, very unreliable. There is so many comments here relating to this yet devs are silent. Love to hear from them

I installed this on my Non-Android TV Box. Overall it works great. The problems I have is I cannot update/change icons. Just like a previous reviewer wrote it is BLANK, and there is no way to choose Icons. The other problem is when I create a shortcut, I cannot move it to any other sections. The shortcut will be placed in the Applications section and you can only MOVE it within the Applications section. It appears the developers have given up on this app. The last reply to any review was APRIL 2019...and It doesn't appear they are interested in updating this app.

Amazing on the pixelbook! You guys really nailed the UI customization on this. I was looking for a launcher for my chromebook and out of all of the ones I've tried this was the only one which worked perfectly on chromeOS. I have one request though! Please allow customization of the folders once you're inside one. Like changing the background color from the default blue to something else, customizable rounded corners of the expanded folder. Amazing app. Highly recommend.

I bought the Pro Version. It works well with my Beelink GT1 Mini. One thing I'd like to do is remove the top widget row to allow the app icons to move all the way up. Is there a way to make that happen? Even if I don't pick a widget the top is just blank space. Maybe move the widgets to the bottom, under the app icons? So, after messing around with it some more, I found it does everything I need. Great app!

wonderful launcher with some minor flaw. In the Widgets if I select a background (solid or image), on reboot is not restored, I see only icons and text or blank if i disable. It is not possible to scale the icon and the text separately. Access to the icon packs would be useful. If you fix this, the 5 stars are definitely deserved.

Nearly perfect for use as an Android box launcher, but I have noticed that when scrolling vertically, the tile focus is sometimes lost completely. I have seen this on more than one box, running 8.1 and 9.0, and with more than one mini remote keyboard (Bluetooth or 2.4 GHz). It seems to happen most when scrolling between sections.

This is the best launcher for Android TV. However it has a few issues. First if you remove the widgets section it cuts off the application title in the top. Second the application wallpaper doesn't work, it just shows a black screen. Lastly it's been far too long since the last update.

I am giving this app a 5 based on using it on my Nvidia Shield. It does just what I want. I did notice that quite a few widgets don't appear for selection and I am not sure why not, but I am giving DStudio the benefit of the doubt and assuming it isn't their problem. If I had tried it first on my Sony TV I would have rated it a failure and never tried Nvidia. I cannot find out how to set this as the default on my Sony Android TV. It is very annoying. I really like this product and would like to be able to use it on all my Android TV devices - especially the expensive ones!!

This is literally the ONLY decent looking and feature equipped TV launcher out there, if you're looking for an alternative to Google's Android TV launcher, I am so grateful that these fine developers have put their time into making this. Seriously, every other launcher is either abandoned halfway through development, or just plain ugly. These guys took a few clues from Apple, and understand that simplicity is good! But there are also MANY customization options for each application icon that I haven't seen on ANY competing launcher. And it's all very VERY intuitive, and useable with d-pad remote controls, or kb/mouse. Anyway, I really hope these awesome canadians keep updating this (they have every month or so thus far) because I can't say enough good about it.

This launcher looks good but it just doesn't work. Using the original Shield. The free version looked promising and I paid for pro. I have constant freezing and it's so slow to use after a few minutes. It hasn't been updated in years. Basically paid money for nothing as it's past the refund period. DO NOT PAY FOR THIS APP.

The more I use the launcher, the more I feel it is the perfect launcher for a TV device. I'm now using it on all mine and my mom's TV devices, including Fire TV sticks and Fire TVs. I feel it's also the perfect launcher for tablets... and feel it's also the perfect launcher for... wait for it... phones! I'm not sure the free version gives enough of an idea of how you can utilize the launcher. You can divide your apps into sections but then you have the choice whether you scroll horizontally or vertically to view your apps. If you choose to order your apps horizontally, this is "similar" to a layout similar to the Google TV launcher. This is the launcher which has the aesthetics which HALauncher was not able to achieve. I would like to see some enhancements made to the launcher: (1) If the Home button is pressed while on the Home screen, then it should take you to the first row of the Home screen with the first tile selected and all rows aligned with the first tile on the left (basically a resetting of the Home screen) (2) I assume it is ATV which is autohiding the navigation bar. For use as a launcher on a tablet, it would be nice if it is configurable whether to autohide or not. (3) When selecting an app to launch by touch on a tablet (or using an air mouse with a TV device), it would be nice if the selected tile becomes larger before launching the app. Sometimes when things are laggy, I'm not sure if the touch was registered, so seeing it become large will reduce the frustration in trying to know if the touch was registered or not. (4) While there is a section for widgets, it would be nice if also widgets can be the same size as tiles and integrated among the apps within any section. (5) For some widgets, they should be able to be stretched to two, three, or even four tiles across, and potentially spanning 2 rows. When spanning 2 rows, it becomes a horizontally scrolling section. (6) With light colored backgrounds, it should be possible to specify black text color, (7) It should be possible to lock the home screen (not necessarily by password, but just to prevent accidental changes, perhaps ignoring long press to display the menu on the right). Somehow my mom managed to delete YouTube from her Fire TV Stick and then couldn't figure out how to find it. (8) Need more support for shortcuts, Popup widget would be perfect for ATV Launcher but for some reason, it cannot add the shortcut to the home screen. For a phone launcher, I'd like to see the following: (A) Support for portrait mode (B) When omitting the section title, the sections should be seamlessly next to each other (for horizontally aligned sections). (C) It should be possible to configure the tiles to be more square than rectangular, with the option of placing the title below the icon

After installing on 2 devices turn out pro version is terrible than free version! The pro is a different install so if you customized the free version then you have to do it all over again! The pro version only useful working feature is to be able to hide apps that you don't want to see in a folder. On one device i can't change wallpaper, it doesn't see any storage, local or attached. On the other device it doesn't allow for live wallpapers to properly play. Your stoke launcher is better 👎

Would love to recommend this app as it was exactly what I wanted for a launcher on my Nvidia Shield TV except for one big issue big enough to stop me from using it, Hulu won't launch from the launcher, it just goes to a grey screen and does nothing. It can be fixed by clearing Hulu's data and re-logging in, but as soon as I leave the app it start happening again, I tried switching back and forth between ATV and the default Android TV launcher and it's definitely an ATV issue only as everything is fine from the stock launcher and even other launchers I've tried.

Great little app, that offers plenty of flexibility - with more one the way . . . (e.g. changing icons altogether). I had some issues with my Mecool M8S Pro L - a device I can highly recommend for the budget minded -, when trying to change my home screen permanently. Denys answered all of my emails and questions quickly and helped me to resolve these problems. THANK YOU! This sort of customer service is rare and deserves your support, so buy this pro version already.

Well, seems to have fixed itself. I love. Works like a dream. Although it would be nice if i could edit all tile settings at once instead of only one at a time :-)

Guys, thanks for a solid app. I bought the pro version hoping it would reveal good widgets. I am disappointed that the app seems to have gone backwards in features/config and there is no documentation I can find. If it is my incompetence please help me find widgets and configure them like weather. If a third party knows where and how to get them please help...? Solid functionality, 4 stars. Documentation/widgets 1 star, sorry...

Brought this app and used it on my T95 mbox, running Android 10. Once i finish using an app and return to the home screen, the home screen just keeps refreshing. The only way to stop it is by restarting my device or disabling atv launcher, then re-enabling it.

Worse than the free version. At least the free version works. This version gets slower and slower until becoming unresponsive. Also, sorting by title (A-Z) just sorts apps in a seemly random order. I liked the promise of this launcher, but ultimately the implementation is terrible. (Tested on Nvidia Shield TV.)

Be Warned - this will break your android box if you have MX10 PRO or similar. My box was working perfectly until this unstable app made it unusable. After multiple instability issues and refugular crashing, the ATV Launcher now sends my family to a blank black page with no way to navigate out from it. This has happened on two consecutive boxes. (I mistakenly thought it was a box issue at first). No customer help or response either. Yes the app is cheap but its cost us more that £90.00 on ruined android boxes. Download at your own risk.

Very happy with this launcher. Sick of the recommended stuff on the Vodafone TV. Nice to remove all that rubbish and replace with a background of my choice. Used the Button Mapper app to remap the Home button on my remote to ATV. Works perfectly. Now to see if I can do the adb thing and get the widgets working.

What the what!- I really enjoyed everything about this app until it started acting up. It didn't take long before it kept relauching and became unusable. I can't do anything with it, move, resize and so on. The relaunchung will not stop. Any suggestions?

Great app! I was looking to turn my Galaxy Tab into a dedicated gaming device with a few streaming apps. This launcher gave me exactly the front end I was looking for, easy to navigate with my 8Bitdo controller and highly customizable. I also like the ability to customize the app tiles. However, upgrading from free to pro seems to have a caused a bug that no longer allows me to load an image for tile background. With this ironed out it would be a 5-star app. Def recommend.

Beter use free app than pro one.. It doesn't change anything on rows and hardly changes other details on aps...it freezes and its getting frustrating....hope devs do something to make the peyment worthy! When this happen will come to give back 5 stars!

I am using an Android 10 device and can't change my wallpaper or choose a background picture for the apps because on the Pro version the storage options are completely missing. Everything else works fine but this little things hold the app from being basically perfect.
